The area is quite exposed now, and the cache's hide has been well dug up.When this cache was placed, the Beveridge to Arataki track didn't even exist. I discovered the well overgrown cuttings by accident in an exploratory bush-bash. On finding the Monkey Drive tunnel, it was clear that something used to be here. At that time you could walk to the end of the tunnel, which was blocked up, and scare the passers-by on Exhibition Drive by poking your arm out of the ventilation pipe!

I visited GZ today and the path is still under construction. It looks like development has been halted. I doubt it would usually take this long to build a path, but Auckland does have higher priorities at the moment.

Lets wait until this boardwalk is finished, and if it's still suitable.

Yeah, I've found that the lid makes no difference. As long as the drainage holes are clear and the bag is solid, the contents will remain dry.

Looks like quite a well worn descent these days. T4TC
Found on the wayback. Not sure why I had no luck the first time. T4TC

I must have gone passed this many many times. My GPS coordinates were about 15m out, although I had a pretty good idea what to look for . T4TC
A common walk for me. I had to read the logs for help on this one . T4TC

Yeap - patience and persistance pays off . I found a good log across the stream with a hand rail.
Great view today, including a plane. Cache container description needs changing.
Hint depends on direction, and is no longer correct anyway. This path is much more developed than last time I was here

It was a great day for kayaking across the channel today so I thought I'd pay this one a visit.
The good news is that the cache is still there - just buried a little more than intended but is now visible so shouldn't be too hard to find.
The bad news is that the (new?) land owners at the top are not very happy about people crossing the farm to access the track from above. The fishermen's track is no longer in use. Unfortunately this means the cache can now only be accessed from the sea - and that climb is very hard work!

Very quiet and sunny today. Lucky break in the weather to be able to visit these very impressive falls. We heard that the stream can become unpassable at this time of year.

Found exposed and on its way down the cliff! Probably good timing to be rescued. I didn't have the pictures with me unfortunately (no coverage here!), but tried to place it according to the hint.
We're hiking anti-clockwise around the lake. Lucky to have a good break in the weather for a warm and sunny winters day.
