Brad is visiting Sydney for a few days to attend a conference. Superannuation and finance can be a bit full on so while hes here walking to and from the conference there is always a chance to grab a couple of Geocaches. Today was a very pleasant day for a walk and also a pleasant day to make a few finds while covering the few kms on foot. This was one of those finds. After doing the AL sequence Brad wandered over here. Great hideTFTC

Today was a very pleasant day for a walk and also a pleasant day to make a few finds while covering the few kms on foot. This was one of those finds. Interesting and nothing too difficult. Many years ago we attended a national medical student conference in Sydney. The final event was in the Town Hall. Many hundreds of people there. The 8 metre long, 1.5 metre high conference banner had been hung from the organ pipes above the stage. Someone suggested it would make a good souvenir and hatched a plan. During a speech by one of the main conference organisers they managed to remove it in full view of everyone who just assumed what they were doing must be okay. Until right at the last minute. But the organisers werent fast enough to catch them or to defeat the plan to get the banner out of the Town Hall. Despite setting up teams to search people as they were leaving. Unsuccessfully. On an unrelated note, in years gone by, security inside the Town Hall was not what it might be today. For example when hired out for an event not all the upstairs offices were kept locked. Some even had windows that would open where someone might inadvertently drop something out to a person waiting below. Hopefully something soft and folded up. Because a heavy thing could be dangerous! Not so much emphasis OHSW back then. Or so a friend told me. TFTC

Blessed are the Telecommunications Network workers? Given the recent performance of our high speed NBN connection, clearly blessedness is not necessarily related to Telecommunications Network results delivery. We do note that telephonists is an anagram of pest hotlines which somehow may ring true for call centre workers?GZ - Big boxes in trees. But these are not caches. Or not Geocaches anyway. Whatever else may be cached in them shall remain asleep during the day. Windy days are not always helpful. But it has been a while since we ventured out to attempt a Freddo gold, so we persevered.TFTC yet again Freddo *FTF* on 18 Nov 2024 at 1600

After driving through Dimboola multiple times we decided this time to divert and sign all the challenges along here including the new ones. We qualify for most but not all yet.TFTCC Some way to go hereBrad and Janet are on another epic trip. This time across South Australia to Broken Hill. Then through central and Northern NSW and up into Qld where we will be picking up a new hybrid house-on-wheels. Then we will head south down through more of NSW via Sydney to catch up with B2. Then further south until we get into Victoria from where we will head back into South Australia. Along the way we will grab caches of opportunity.

This is the fourth in this series that we have found. And the fifth will be the closest to home. But today we made a very specific detour on our trip from Lakes Entrance to Bacchus Marsh. The toughest part of this was trying to find a legal place to park the geomobile along with the house on wheels we were towing. Extra D earned for the hike back to the GZ. Cache found, log signed and all returned as found.Oh, yes. We do qualify. After 4000km of a round trip from Adelaide through Brisbane and down the Australian east coast to Lakes Entrance before turning for home for which this challenge was a key target we completely failed to find the container at GZ despite 20 minutes of searching everywhere we could think of within 20 metres of GZ.

As a veteran himself Brad is always keen on ANZAC themed caches. Sadly the cache was full of smelly water. Emptied as best we could. Scratched a B&J in the sodden logbook.
