The sun and wind have taken their toll on this cache. Contents were scattered across the nearby ground. Placed what we could find under a rock but needs a new container and notebook.

Great bike ride. Heavy rain two days prior made it interesting getting the cache. 

Interesting history 

While hunting for the cache we struck up a conversation with a camper who was adjacent to the cache site. He had no idea what caching was all about so we explained it to him. After this he told us that he had noticed someone fill in a book that was in a container near a rock, and thought that it was a registration book for the free campsite. He then dutifully carried the container and book around to the other campers and got them to fill it in. He left the cache with a group of campers at the other end of the campsite. We did a search of the entire campsite but could not find it.

Could not believe that the cache was still there after the bush fires. Burnt all around the hiding spot but not the cache.

The new cache is shiny and new. Didn't see any wild deer.

Could not understand why the gps was continually pointing towards the car. Turns out the side of the road was recently graded and they took out the fence and trees nearby which must have been where the cache was hidden . I just happened to pull up on the spot where the cache used to be. Found it about 10 metres away on the ground near where the grader had piled up the demolished fence and tree branches. Left it near a tree about 8 metres closer to the gate . 

It would have been a hard life in the old days. 

Interesting sounds and smells from the nearby pigs while we looked for the cache.
