Logs for mholdern

22-Feb-04
This was my 2nd ever cache by boat and the first by house boat. Rons fridges were very interesting and worth a visit on their own. Didn't water Ron's tree as Rav 4 Raiders were there the day before and there was some very light rain about keeping things cooler and moist. 21 deg celcius according to the thermometer we took. We left a breakers keyring.

21-Feb-04
Done this on the way to a house boat at Renmark which I intended to use as a new form of geocaching transport for a week or so. Left a spider and took a clip.

14-Jan-04
Done this one during our Border Track Coorong trip. Spent a pleasant half hour or so in a beatiful park gathering the answers.

12-Jan-04
Nice easy cache to introduce a few new people to the sport. Took the bubble soap and left something I can't remember.

18-Dec-03
@1407. Cool cache. Loved how it was hidden. Left a key clip and took a key to something.

A nice easy virtual (our first). Thought the kids would be using this place during the hilidays, but sadly there was no one there today.

Found this on our second search. Took Breakers Keyring and left a genade for the Jeckyls.

Didn't realise this one was archived. Checked the site with the Jeckyls and it's definitely gone. Twisted

16-Dec-03
@ 1100. Very quiet here now isn't it! A very hot day but an easy cache to find. Took Koala and left 'The Lost Sheep' travel bug who is racing back to Holland.

30-Nov-03
Not having a head for heights we found the 'swing' challenging. Nice day for it anyway. Took the slinky and left some SweetPea seeds.

@1649. Cool container. Took mirror and left dolphin (unlikely to get very wet in this container though Smile

@1553. Interesting spot. Took dolphin & left a cat. We moved the rock about 5 meters as the co-ords were slightly off Smile

25-Nov-03
A nice easy find, almost a gift Smile. Done this one on my way to visit the Jeckyls. Took a flashing Christmas pin and left a wooden reindeer. Merry Christmas ALL.

27-Oct-03
Team Spanner will make an appearance. Will be great to meet you all. Cheers.

19-Oct-03
@1533. On the way home from some 4wding at Dorado Downs. Took the spider and left a giraff key ring.

12-Oct-03
Gave this to the bloodhound to get. This is a busy little area on a nise sunny Sunday. Took a grenade for the Jeckyls and left a fridge magnet advocating peace and goodwill.

No snakes today but definitely snake country. Made sure we made lots of noise on the way in & out. Does anyone know what the track down the side of the hill was built for? I'm assuming it was for a sewer main but I could be wrong. It's easy to loose track of exactly where you are around here. I was surprised at how close the intersection the site overlooks was. Took the CPU and left an elephant to scare away the snakes.

11-Oct-03
Our second attempt at this one. How we didn't spot it the first time around I'll never know but for some reason a few people have had trouble with it. Perhaps we've been thinking it's harder than it really is. We did use a GPS in a clear area and a compass for direction & that put us right on it. Took Bert and left a (empty) purse.

10-Oct-03
I'm going claim this one even though I didn't open the cache. I could easilly see it but I decided it was far too dangerous to get to the cache without any safety gear. Call me a whimp if you want, but I don't think any cache is worth killing yourself or anyone else for. That said, I've lived in this area for almost 40 years and never walked through the area before although I've driven within a 100 meters or so almost daily. There are some great veiws from here so the visit was very worthwhile.

05-Oct-03
A nice ingeneous cache found by the Geosniffer. Took nothing and left nothing.

Found by our geosniffer. A 'Mr Whippys' was going past at the the time so we all enjoyed an icecream each. I was amazed at how long the geosniffers tounge is. Took $2 and left $2.

07-Sep-03
Well, we didn't visit at night but given the history of the spot, it is an eerie spot. Make sure you don't take a geosniffer here as there are baits about. We also found an unfired or misfired bullet, probably from fox shooters. Took and elephant and left a whistle should you ever need to call for help.

Enjoyed the view on a nice sunny day. Had a whole crew with me today being introduced to Geocaching. Took the Micro Cassette and left a switch.

An interesting spot to vist. I'd heard great things about this place and today was my opportunity to see it for myself. I wasn't dissapointed. Took seeds and left a Ballarat map.

30-Aug-03
Thought we'd do this one on the way down to look at Fishery Beach and the tremendous view of Kangaroo Island. Pleasant sort of day bit a little windy. Took the Tom Clancy CD and left a noisy gadget.

17-Aug-03
A nice easy first cache of the day. Interesting little spot nearby. Left some crayons and took some damn noisy electonic gadget gizmo that spent some time driving me nuts. It's comng to a cache near you soon Twisted

Loved the drive in. Marginal for 2wd if it's wet but ok for 4wd as previously mentioned. Took a purse and left the sewing pins.

Forget the geocaching, just go for the view. It was an ify sort of day weather wise, but that made the view even more interesting watching the clouds roll over the landscape and listening to the wires sing. Took the rawhide ball for the geosniffer and left a koala.

Another one that took 2 attempts. The clues were spot on but I suspect the co-ords are a little bit off as the GPS took us to exactly the wrong spot twice. It's not off by more than 10-15 meters though and it's obvious when you use the clues. Goesniffer paid off here and on the second part too. Took Mutley and left a candle.

This was our second attempt at this one. Our Geosniffer was not much help either. Perseverence paid off though. Took a pussy and left and octopussy. Great spot for a cache.

The clues took us right there. Lovely sunny day for geocaching. Took the map and left a digital watch.

10-Aug-03
Nice location with lots of water. Thought might have had to walk in it at one stage. Took keyfinder and left soap - just in case. After trying to put everything back in we decided the big kagarroo needed a new home.

Thought I'd better do this one on my way to Littlehampton. I hope they get the restoration work going again. It would be a pitty to see it deteriorate much more. Took nothing, left nothing.

Found on our 2nd attemp, no thanks to the new Geosniffer. We got this with some help from the Jeckyls. Took and left nothing.

09-Aug-03
@ 2241 A nice easy one on the way home from a night's geocaching. Took soap and left a bear scrunchy.

A very interesting spot and not what I was expecting either. Took a koala and left a 4WD. Ta Alex.

A cache with a difference. Took the key to happiness and left the key to my heart.

Lid still need replacing as I had nothing on hand. Took and left nothing.

Clues lead us astray a little on this one but the Jeckyls came to the rescue. Took a frog and left a magnet.

03-Aug-03
The paper was a little damp so we put a new piece in. A very very clever idea Piggys.

A very blustery night. The frogs were in full voice. We rescued Robert's mate. Took Crayons and left Screw Driver, 4 Colour Pen and of course a bendy frog. Thanks Jeckyls, this is one we can catch up with.

Great spot to hide a cache. Very ingenious. Had to repair the botom of the container a little. Took dog clip and left capsicum keyring.

@1559. Found without too mich difficulty. Took pins and left a fridge magnet.

@1604. Falling over caches today. Left Cosmos seeds from venus and took multi coloured pen.

No trouble finding this one. Took the whistle and left Mr Sticky.

Bugga! Just missed the tour. @ 1121 Took octopus and left magnetic horse. Nice cache spot.

@ 1535 Cool spot as the fence introduced just the right amount of difficulty. After a few minutes we found it. Took soccer ball and left a bandicoot.

Nice location. Took simpson pen and left a dog clip.

@ 1206. Loved the Camo. Very nice. Took paperclips, left a watch.

02-Aug-03
@1726. Nice ride up the track. Tace it very carefully though. 2WD better stay on the road. Very nice view at sunset. Took cosmos seeds and left fidge magnet. Ta to Team Astro.
