Logs for Yurt
12-Sep-24
Visiting Griffith and after dinner went for a walk to see if I could find my first cache in two years or so. Old skills came into play and made the find of a common enough container back in my peak days. Thanks!
02-Aug-24
Archiving as I am not happy with the new location and I can't find anything in the area. As this is part of a series I need the clues that were in the cache (which I can't find) and the notes section on the cache page has disappeared so I'm not sure how I can get them without the help of a previous finder. I plan on replacing this cache but I will use the location of the nearby cache that is not part of the series once I can find the clues for the final and place them in the new cache. Sorry to all who have been waiting on this one. I just don't have the time for geocaching any more. I have adopted out most of my caches but still hold a few bush ones that shouldn't require this much work.

Coordinates changed from:S 33 42.623 E 151 4.432Coordinates changed to:S 33 42.608 E 151 4.439Distance from original: 97.8 feet or 29.8 meters.Moved to new spot. I think this will be temporary as I will find a better spot shortly. If you are watching I'd wait for the next spot once I fix it up.
29-Jun-24
Please don't archive. If I don't complete this over the weekend, feel free.
03-Jun-24
Unless anyone wants to adopt this cache I'll archive it. I don't actively cache any more and have adopted out most of mine. I've hung onto a few remote ones that don't require much work but this one gets a lot of visitors and I can't devote the time.
02-Jun-24
Visited to move cache but wet weather has caused issues. Doing some maintenance on the cache in preparation for the move.
10-May-24
Owing to endless rain lately I haven't been able to get in to move this cache. Stay tuned.
08-Apr-24
Due to changes around GZ I am disabling this cache. I rarely cache these days but would like to keep this series going. I am unable to do much in a the coming weeks but will look to move this cache somewhere close by and not in an inaccessible spot.

Thought I'd do this little power trail on a sunny Sunday morning. Short bush bash and a quick find. Nice theme. Thanks!
Great spot for a freaky hide! Log is full but scratched a log there anyway. Thanks!
Another beauty. Found away around to it. Log is damp but still signed. Thanks!
There's a quite large indicator of the cache location from the track. Found it nearby. Thanks!
Climb up to the likely spot. Has seen better days. Signed and replaced. Thanks!
Just off the track for a quick find. Log is full. Signed anyway, anywhere...Thanks!
Last of the trail and the first time I've done 9 caches in a day for over 7 years. Thanks!
15-Jul-23
Went for a long walk from home and picked up this as one of my expanding radius after years out of the game. Thanks!
08-Jul-23
Beecroft my old stamping ground! Went to school here and caught the train from here for all my high school and uni years. Nice that I can still do a long walk to get here and find a cache. Thanks!
24-Jun-23
Went for a 50 minute walk through the bush from home to GZ. My cache finding skills were rusty due to hardly caching in the past 5 years but eventually made the find in the likely spot. Of course the game had only just begun...I made a slight start but had to call on the most recent finder for a little help, good that I'd kept all my phone-a-friends in my phone. With some hints I managed to get to the log, signing it being careful to not make the reassembly job any harder than it needed to be.
Thanks!
Thanks!

On a chilly morning walk I dropped by this familiar location for a quick find. Very quiet being the King's Birthday holiday. Didn't have pencil so scratched my mark with a stick and scanned the QR code. Thanks!
10-Jun-23
Went for a walk to this little park on a cold but sunny winter's morning. Quick find in the most likely spot. Thanks!
On my morning walk I thought I'd clean up the new caches in my area that had appeared since I last seriously geocached. A quick find in a familiar pathway which used to be part of a multi of mine. Thanks!
03-Jun-23
Nothing here. Area has had heavy maintenance so is likely gone or buried.
Not quite where the pointer said but further down the path I hit pay dirt. Have walked past here many times but haven't cached in years so getting back into it. Thanks!
28-May-23
I've been here before but didn't log my find as I was on my long hiatus from geocaching. Just getting back into it and found this without having a working pen! Noob error. Simple find when you know where it is. Signed with a scratch of a stick. Thanks!
07-May-22
Well my first find in well over a year and one of a very few in the past five years. Went for a walk not far from home for a quick find. Thanks! I should check on my Pen Cache while in the area.

As the trig is there and it's not private property it can go back in. Make sure you contact NPWS for your entry permit. Most times of year it's okay.

The wires were put up to stop mountain bikes going along the track. It's still walkable but probably better from the other end. There's nothing 'illegal' about a walking track, but mountain bike tracks often cross this line. I'd look at another spot but there aren't many feasible around there.

Haha. You thought I'd given up geocaching! I worked this out last year sometime but never came by. Found today after getting my hands dirty unnecessarily. Great hide. Favourite. Thanks!

I forgot about the previous log and was wondering why it would be impossible to get to the cache - please explain in logs. Walking through today I saw why. The access track from the main track has been fenced off and the track labelled 'illegal' which is a stretch. They have fenced off both ends largely to stop damage by mountain bikers, some of whom love nothing better than ripping up the bush. You could still access the track to the cache without causing any real harm to anything but I guess I'll have to look for a nearby hiding spot. Knowing me though I'll take forever to get around to it. Still a great bit of bush.
Not much of a geocacher these days but I love this area and dropped by on a Covid-19 walk. Thought I'd be able to find the cache still and it was there although slightly moved. I checked the cache and it's all sound and dry. Put it back a bit further in.

Sorry just couldn't get around to it. They changed the steps and I couldn't get around to getting the right numbers and converting the puzzle. Have lost interest in geocaching in the past two years or so. It was a good run but I'll have to adopt out my caches I think as I have no motivation for it any more.
21-Nov-19
I can now get back in to check the new step numbers. If I don't get this done soon I will archive as I don't have much time these days.
02-Sep-19
Still can't get to one of the changed sets of steps to alter the count. Hope I can do it soon.

Haven't found a cache in TSV for years although I still visit regularly. Lost a bit of interest along with not having as much spare time. Had a look for this one on my morning walk and made the find. Signed and replaced but I've got a nagging feeling the cache might have slipped into the inaccessible zone. In hindsight I don't think it was where it was meant to be in the camo and that led to the fail. Sorry.
To hold off the archive machine I have to post another note. I've changed the cache type as I couldn't find a spot for the ammo can that I could trust not to get muggled again. So it's a matter of getting out there again. Hopefully soon.

Well done on ten years! We started around the same time - hit ten years last month. But you've kept up way better than I have. Would love to come, am bookmarking this for the moment and hope to make it on the day.

This trig has been on my list for a long time but its presence in the middle of the UNSW field station meant it was off-limits. Well the station was demolished two years ago and the land returned to the NPWS. I came in from the Great North Walk and followed the road up to the wide cleared area. Only trace of the old station was the fire hose and barbeque along with the cleared (but growing back) area. I didn't even have my GPS with me as I wasn't planning on finding this but I thought I could find it by walking to the highest point and there it was! Took my photos on a grey day. Cairn and mast with vanes intact. I think there's an imprint of DJARRA on the vanes but hard to see in the light I had - a rubbing would confirm.
Followed the fire trail on down to a great view over the water - I think it's Bujwa Bay. On my return I followed the road back out, not the Great North Walk, and found the gate at the end of the road had a sign saying it was now the Muogamurra Nature Reserve and a permit was required to enter (whoops!) so I guess if you contact NPWS you can get access to log this trig. Maybe it can be un-archived.

A rare find for me these days. In the dark too. Box is broken so needs replacing.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Cache is gone. What sort of a person just steals these things? Will try and replace.

Wow! Windy (Mt) Wellington! 6C and a roaring wind meant it was difficult just to get the phone out to take the pic. Survived somehow! Then there's the guy in T-shirt and shorts...
First logged cache for me in months. Was almost blown down to Hobart town by the winds today! A mere 6C up here. This is the shot I took walking along the path before my phone nearly got ripped out of my hands by the wind. There's another shot of me at the base of the trig huddled down for dear life which I'll upload later. Thanks!

First find in a long time. Here at East Cape and had to find the two easternmost caches in NZ. Quick find on the way up the endless steps. Signed and replaced. Thanks!
