They say going interstate for 24 hours, just for a friend's 21st is insane.
I say walking around in an unknown town at 11pm at night looking for a bloody nano is even more insane.
I was at my friend's party which happened to be very nearby, decided that if i was in adelaide for one night, i should probably find a geocache or two, so booted up the application and found a nearby one. Grabbed my muggle travel companion, and set off.
Nice looking area - and thanks for the history behind it too!

Just leaving work, saw that this had been published...sort of nearby!
After rerouting my plans, found a car park, crossed a drain (probably should of walked around it) and after a short search came up with the goods.
A pleasant surprise to find a blank logbook!!

First I was afraid, I was petrified.
Kept thinking "OMG this is too hard, don't have an app for that!"
But then an event came along around here, and a group of us who were slightly early decided to do this.
I discovered I have a compass app on my new phone, literally 50m before we got to WP1. That came in use! I forgot how much I hate compass bearings, and I was seriously doubting my numbers (expecially one of them!!) but we got to wp2 without a fuss - and to gz shortly after.
I have been around this area plenty of times with my ex workplace (which is very nearby!) but this was a lovely way to show some of the features. Cheers.

Right, this has been on my "no seriously just go and find it" list since December last year, and after the realisation that I'd get a souvineer for doing a puzzle cache today (and I didn't particularly want to solve a puzzle today so yay for having an unfound but solved puzzle!!) I finally grabbed this on the way to Skyfire this evening (before the muggles got crazy thank goodness)
Yay, a D/T I haven't found before!!
Yay, a D/T I haven't found before!!
Was disappointed that I had missed out on flashmobbing this morning (I sat at work and thought of you all), and felt the need to get some sort of Pi related event in, so plans were rearranged to fit this in.
Finally got a chance/excuse to grab the multi here which was a bonus!! (Normally I would of given up on it!!)
Plus catching up with friends, old and new was good.
Haven't been out here in a while - thanks for bringing me back here

Was doing the Uriarra loop trail with rovers, and due to my lack of pre-planning only had managed to download coordinates of only a few caches up here onto my GPS. (and phone signal up here? pfft dont be silly!!)
Thankfully this was one of them!
We could see the bridge/planks from ontop of the hill we had just climbed (so many stairs! urrgh!) and my first thought was "nup, if I go down there I'll have to climb back up here!" - well apparently not. Followed the rocky path down, and we explored the bridge.
Muggle friend had wondered off to look at a whole lot of washed up logs further towards the sewage plant, and I remembered I had loaded a couple of caches onto my gps. Looked at it, and the closest one was 14m away? Fine!
Sat down at GZ and watched the water rush past! My immediate thought was along the lines of "ick is it still there? is it underwater?" but I dont give up thaaat easy. Had a feel around (whilst getting my shoes kinda wet in a small puddle) and eventually came up with the goods.
However, the log was mush, much to my disappointment
But the location was lovely!

Grabbed this one whilst waiting for a friend to show up, so we could do the Uriarra loop trail (would recommend)
Not many around, 10am on a Sunday morning

Was camping at blue range hut with scouts, for a ceremony on saturday. Whilst waiting for everyone to rock up, i grabbed the information, and shortly after found the cache (..yeah the hint did help, instead of doing the gps accuracy dance)
Heh. On the way in, whilst we were waiting for a friend to come back with the code for the campsite, we met a trailbiker who was asking if this was the best way to the river.
None of us knew at the time that there was a river so close to the campsite.
Until i turned on my gps after we set up camp - this was so close by, but far away enough to escape the muggles
i agree with the statement that this cache deserves more visitors, it's gorgeous!

Sorry for the slightly late log, but i found it!
Was helping set up for "Big Day Scout", where we had activities less than 50m away from GZ! (and a couple of hours later, you could say the area around here was plagued by scouts!)
Looked on app to see what caches were around, wasn't feeling like climbing a 20m tree (oddly enough), so decided this would be a great one to get!
Unforchantly it was my only find whilst i was in Melbourne, however i sure enjoyed this cache!

Casual after-work find. Not too much traffic around so i could grab/sign/replace in gaps of traffic.
Not going to lie - the fact that there's a suburb called beard has always made me giggle like a school girl.

Was working pretty much across the railway tracks from this one, and thought i'd grab this one before i started work this afternoon.
I had it all planned out. I had the car so close to GZ, so i could use it as cover, as i was "checking" something on my wheel, thought i'd find it fine with no muggles, then suddenly *HONK*
16:07 train (to kingston) kind of caught me in the act, so I froze, pretended to take a photo of the train, nervously waited for the train to go past (oh my god it goes so slow!) and finally was able to sign and replace! Awkward.
Not going to lie, this would be cool to see how many people it'd take to turn a train, and ..to see a train turning on it (whilst being pushed/turned by all these people!)

Construction work all around this space made me give up. I'll have another go, if someone else finds this

Haha, would you look at that? A *FTF*?!?
Had to jump over the border into NSW this morning, to go to work. Little did i realize, public holidays meant that i'd get to work in about double the normal time, so i had some time spare, so i grabbed this, a mere 300m or so away from where i was working!!

Apparently i completely missed this one, the THREE times i've been out here doing the series!
After hearing that the area is soon to be closed off for redevelopment etc, i decided to get off my butt and find this one. Well worth the walk.

So our Rover Crew have been making plans to go hiking more and more often. So we decided to go on a simpe walk to Yankee Hut. I loaded a bunch of geocaches onto my gps before we left, set off, and about three quarters of the way in, pulled out the gps. Which was useful for when we wanted to give up with only 75m to go!
I took my cubs here on a grey wolf walk ...umm two years or so ago, and barely remembered most of the walk (in my defence I was making sure a group of 8-11yr olds didn't axe themselves or step on a snake) so it was nice to walk around, quietly and enjoy the scenery. Really gave you a good chance to reflect. That was until someone pointed out the storm clouds looming above us.
(still we managed to miss it!)
Thankyou for making a cache out here that's different

Oops! I crossed the bridge!!
Found with a few members of my rover crew, as we decided on a new years resolution to get fit and go bushwalking more. I was prepared and loaded a "couple" of caches onto my gps as a surprise to the others
Whilst the muggles got excited about a helicopter above us (I think it was a water bomber! ) and tadpoles and apparently fish below them on the bridge, I tackled this one solo.
I am very very weary of these easy namadgi finds

Nothing like starting an Australia day weekend by...walking around in circles under trees wondering why the gps doesnt work
Was walking to Yankee hut with SouthwellRabbit and a muggle friend, had signed the visitors book, then i looked at my gps. Only 37 meters away! Sure!!
They both thought i was nuts (no argument there) and i went solo to do it. Got confused, found the tree, looked under one log, a lizard, nothing else. Looked under second log and found it.
Went back to the path, and ...they had ditched me! Here i am, lost in Namadgi..oh apparently they made it up to the rock shelter without me. Lovely.
Found 8972 kangaroos, 74 bunnies, 3 lizards, 2 eagles, and 1 dead tiger snake (which scared the living daylights out of me...basically because i nearly stepped on it)

Found as part of a "Lets Get Slightly Fit By Bushwalking" mission that myself and a few scout buddies have going as a new years resolution.
I put a whole load of caches on my gps, not really taking much notice of the difficulty/terrain raitings..oops! However the main thing is - we did the whole loop, we found the cache (and a couple of others!), we didn't hit any kangaroos (one may have almost jumped into the car but that's a different story), we found a dead tiger snake, and we honestly had a good time out in Namadgi this morning
I was going to admit that it took more than one of us to work out the coords from wp1, but that's just embarrassing.

The call had gone out over facebook, AussieGuy007 was visiting, and an executive decision was made to find this one.
An hour before we had decided to attack this one, I looked outside. Hmm, yep, bit of rain. Pfft, like that's stopped us going hunting for caches before! Saw several people had pulled out because of the weather, but that's ok. I assumed it'd be a very small group of like 4 or 5 of us.
Got to a street near. Got yelled at by grumpy neighbour (apparently the nature strip next to his house is NOT a parking spot! Arrgh oops!) so i moved car and waited for everyone else to turn up.
9pm or so - we all headed off. Jumped through a fence, limbo'ed through another, and commando crawled through another, chasing shiny things. Sounds ridiculous when i say it like that
Very lovely walk - could see the lights of ..tuggeranong? (i think it was that direction) at one point, and i'm kinda tempted to go out there again in the daylight (and when it's not raining, maybe..) to appreciate the views.
I'm very thankfull i did this in a group - I thought my torch was pretty good, but it couldn't see that far! (most likely because of the rain!)
My boots are still drying, i'm finding several dozen mosquito bites on me, and i'm still trying to explain to muggle housemates why "I went geocaching at 9pm last night, in the rain?" but did i enjoy myself? YES!

Hooray! About time, i noticed it pop up this afternoon, it was a frog from a moveable race a few years ago

Found on the way up to sydney, i came for maccas brekky, i stayed for the cache down the road
As others have said, log is full to the brim, absolutely no more room for signing which is a darn shame.

On a day-trip to sydney, after deciding that i really don't like multi's, i was not left with many caches in the CBD to find. So after my muggle companion decided that she'd like to go to Darling Harbour, i decided i'd find this one whilst we were there.
Lovely views (of course)

Parked here to catch the train, and was amused to find a cache so close to where we parked!! Thanks!

To whomever found this one around 11, heading back to your car with GPS in hand...BUSTED!

Not going to deny it, when there's a cache released 4 streets away, the logical thing to do is drop everything and run/drive as fast as legally possible.
Plenty of numbers at wp1. But none in the right order. Went to wp2. No numbers at all.
No ftf for me. No hunt till someone else finds it

Grabbed on the way home from rovers. And no, totally did not have "santa claus is coming" by hi-5 stuck in my head, for about an hour or two after i found this. :S
