What bad timing. I went down to the shack last Thursday and due to waterwells not finding it I went to check on it. I did find it about 30m from planted position and looking rather chewed up. Wombats like scented candles.
I have removed it for the moment and will be replacing it at christmas time. Anybody got a safe???

Went and checked out cache last weekend.
Replaced it in its original position. Boy the wild winds last year blow alot of trees over.
I went up to the cache via Tattersals Road on my dirt bike and can say those with 4x4's can go this way without to many problems. p.s. its fun to be back on a bike again.

First to log second to find. Dam.
When you work on the wharf you tend to take the location and the view for granted.
And today it is sunny and fine err oops wrong report.
Blowing the milk out of my tea and raining cats & dogs.
Or should I say "it was blowing so hard the GPS signal couldn't beam into it".
Anyway on a good day the place is great.
Rob, I'll check it after each nor westerly blow if you like.

For our first event it was great. The geohunt over a small area was really good.
Alice would go with the best option she could see. Sometimes the pets sometimes the kids or both.
Some interesting ideas for caches. Glad there is still alot of standard caches out there cause it looks like it is going to get harder.

We found it on our way home from Smithton. My brother and family are working down there now.
We all went to the playground here for a run around before the drive back to L'ton. (just happened to be near a cache)
Nice mild day little wind. Also anyboby heading down here should pick up a cardboard box to go sliding down the bank over in the playground. The kids love it.
Next time up the nut.

Round and round we go. The good old GPS was all over the place. At one stage it was trying to tell me 20m west. Scratched the head and thought no I don't think so. (those who haven't been will find out when you get there)
Quick call to WW and it was suggested I look between the rocks. That helped alot - not.
So just when the SC index was rising (SC - swear & curse) I found it surprise surprise between the rocks.
Chalk up another find thanks
And thanks WW's

Found today if you all accept the attached as there was a gardener about 10m away working on the path.
A lot of work being done here. Sure to look impressive when it's finished.

In Hobart for work so thought I'd have a look for this one as haven't been into this area before.
Never knew that there were boat sheds down there. You don't see that very often that close to a city centre.
Thanks for taking me there.

Stop laughing. 2nd one for the night. Always makes it interesting when you haven't looked up the details of what you are looking for before you go.
Great view and a few new houses in the area to check out for ideas.

Found it on the way home from work.
Larry - Frank could keep an eye on it with the binos.
Lots of busted trees from the storm about the area.
Nice replacement too.

Quick Look - definition - Enough available time to find a cache. long enough time to be extremely frustrated.
You then curse the doctor that said "You need to find an activity to improve you fitness and that will help lower the blood pressure" WELL ITS NOT BLOODY WORKING.
On a lighter note any one who needs a load of wood, there is about 20 to 30t's of wood busted out of the gum trees from the storm between the carpark and the cache site (alleged site)
Maybe the wind blew it away??
Leaving on that thought. I feel better knowing its blown away.(^)

I'm back
Found without to much trouble in amoungst the busted trees. This area really got blown to bit last week.
I must say that the cache must have spent some time at a dairy prior to placement. When you find it you will understand.
As a kid there was a flying fox and other fun stuff in this park. You know the ones that all the do gooders would have a pink fit over if it was still there today. Cable around 2 trees with a pully and rope for kids to hang off it and fly at 30 to 40 kmh towards the other tree. Ahh what fun it was. with the odd [B)]

Got there about 2pm on a family outing.
Myself and Alice walked down to he site. Mum & Laura stayed behind (someone wanted feeding)
Beautiful day with a light sea breeze. By the look of the trees in the area I think days like this are an exception rather than the norm.
Great location interesting history

First time we found a new one first.
Beautiful day, great spot.
Your doing a better job than me. I'll have to get organised and set a few myself.
thanks L&G

Didn't find it but I was only there 5 minutes and GPS jumping around a bit (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Anyway till next time.
Found it on one of those brilliant days where ther is a nice warm breeze blowing and birds sing.
Next time I'm down that way I'll drop in a new log book. The current one has about 5 pages left.
A popular spot especially the view.

Found the site. Does that count???
Didn't log in before heading off just went off the GPS memory without knowing what type it was.
Anyway a beautiful day with a couple of families playing in the park.
I'd forgotten what a great 20m slide there is here.

[Well after walking around looking in all the likely spots for 45min. I was heading out when I spotted it. An easy find if you are looking in the right place.
Horus - found your hand bag but not your cache.
For a moment I thought the hand bag was part of it till I looked inside (bit mouldy).
Good cache good location]
look for the poplar trees near the big gum tree and it is only a few short steps in.

Found it ok. Beautiful day only a couple of people about but they didn't really notice me.
The family use to go out this road for bush BBQ when it was logged in the mid 70's.
Arrr the good old days.

Clear day but a bit cool. Found it ok. Went there with Craigrat. It really is a great veiw from up there.
As Craigrat has said but did end up swearing alot, even after Craig found it. Anyway it ended well including the slide into the gutter (sorry about that CR promise it won't happen again) So if no one outside the car saw it happen does that mean it didn't??

Well what a frustating one this was. The Garmin 76 didn't like the idea of giving a fix here. Probably has something to do with being in a gully, under fern trees and tall trees, and on a drizzley old day. I think I was just trying to make it hard for myself.
After walking along by the river I ended up down on the beach thinking it might be down there. Then found it climbing back up. More luck than skill. Nice walk despite the windy and cloudy day.

Grew up in this area so I know the place well. Found it with out to many problems. Topped it off with a beautiful day.

The second one for the day. Well the ammended co-ordinates puts sort of close ( inside of 20m) Great location its funny how you live in an area all your life and that was the first time I'd been there.
