Had a great day out with Jonnosan getting to this Trig. Having seen pictures in the past it has been on my have to do list for quite some time. We came in via Mount Armour fire trail and ascended the ridge before Colong Point. Quite an easy climb had us at the summit in just over a couple of hours. A hot drink and a bite to eat we left with a different route in mind for our return, heading towards the ridge just north of Colong Point. The pass we chose to get down the cliffs may not of been the most easiest, but it was certainly an adventure in itself. By joining both our handlines together we had just enough length to touch solid ground with a couple of inches to spare. In the words of Jonno "We had pioneered a new pass". It was a time of great joy. With a little bit of a bush bash we were back at the fire trail and a walk back to the car. Getting back to the car early left us enough time to seek out another Trig in the area. Mt Shivering here we come !
A nice fairly easy walk to finish of a great day with Jonnosan and Mt Colong. Only about 600m from the road and not too much of a climb had us at the top for afternoon tea. Well worth the small effort.

Woohoo. I feel on top of the world. I did the K2K in a timely manner of 4 days. Found this on day four on my way to Kanangra. Thanks for the added bonus of a cache to top of a fantastic walk. I didn't hang around long up there as the weather was far from perfect. Who knows, I may get back there one day
I,m feeling pretty chuffed that I made it to this trig from Katoomba. I remember the feeling of how buggered I was when I walked here from Kanangra on the way to Katoomba 26 years ago. Its good to be back

I finally return to Konangaroo after 26 years. The first time I didn't even know this place existed. This time a K2K solo trip and a couple of geocaches as a bonus. Thanks for fun. Its good to be back in the game again.

Here we go! My first trig log
I have been in the world of geocaching for over a decade now but I lost interest a fair while ago. Lately the urge has been drifting back. I have always loved trig points from the first time I noticed one at Woodford back when I was about 10. This is adding a little fun back to exploring our country. Thanks Jonnosan for the headsup.

On the way out here as the start of my K2K walk I was past by a Subaru (yes past the locked gate) I observed it was just a family vehicle including a kiddie seat with child strapped in. I was quite curious and must of seamed so as on his return he stopped and had a small chat. He told me he was just dropping of some survey markers. Makes you wonder

The missing cache has been replaced with a new container back into the original position. I am very glad to of finally gotten around to it. There is a nice geocaching.com patch for the next finder. Go for it!

Looks like this is definitely in need of replacing. All going well I will have it back up and in tip top condition by the end of the weekend.

First cache I have done in quite some time. Thanks Jonno for leading the way. It was a fun start to a great afternoon down in the creeks.

We sure did pick a hot weekend to come out to Splendour Rock and we ended up walking a one of the harder ways in. We started at Dunphys and walked out the service trail to Medlow Gap. I must of been chatting away to much and we missed the turnoff to Kennel Flat.We pushed on and found ourselves up on top of Mount Mouin for lunch. It didn't feel too hot up there as the wind was blowing quite wild. After a short stop we followed the ridge down to Blackhorse Gap and over too the Wombat Parade. Thats where we started to feel the heat. The wind was blowing from the west which meant we weren't getting any and the air was hot and sticky. We finally made our way to Warrigal Gap where we had to make a choice. Splendour Rock or Mobbs Soak. We were desperately low on water having gone through about 4 litres each but we really wanted to spend the night out on Mount Dingo. It has been over 20 years since I had been out this way but I remembered some flat rock up on playground of the dingos that would hold water after rain, which we had had a few days earlier. We took the risk and it payed of. After topping up our water supply and having a cool down at the pools we trudged of to Mount Dingo to find a place to camp.
Rest and water is what we needed most and that is what we did. Many photos taken and it wasnt until morning that the cache was hunted out and rituals were performed. During the day we took our time walking to Mobbs Soak where we lounged around all day drinking water and rehydrating ourselves.
Day 3 had us wondering back to the car via Kennel Flat and the service trail. A great time was had but it would of been much more enjoyable if it wasnt so hot.

I went for a nice 520km ride today and this was the only cache that I bothered stopping for (I had other things on my mind). Great spot to stretch the legs and explore a little. Very interesting info at ground zero. Nice easy hide. TFTC

Such a nice day I decided to take the kickbike out for a ride to check on this cache. Found all fine and dry. Worth the ride

Such a great part of the world and we are lucky enough to live here too. Dropped of Freddy the Frog Travel bug. TFTC
This is a fantastic spot. Loved it. I have been out this way many times as I grew up out here riding motorbikes through the bush (back in the days when you could get away with it). I even went to a party at the Helipad back in the early 80's but I had never been out to the point where this cache is. You could sit out there for hours and take in the serenity. Thanks for bringing us back here.
Thought it was about time we got out and did a few caches. This was the first for the day and only 1 km from home. Took Freddy The Frog Travel bug and moved him on. TFTC
We had a quick look today but didn't find it. After looking at the spoiler photo I was definitely looking in the wrong spot. I hope to be back soon to try and nab it.

Have revisit cache today and all is where it should be, intact and dry. Checked coords and have updated to make a 4m change. I hope this helps as this isnt a hard cache to find, but I suppose it isn't the normal sort of hiding spot that is quite often used in the Blue Mountains.

This cache IS NOT within the confines of the railway corridor, and you DO NOT have to trespass via the signed gate to get to the cache location. If you find the gate with a sign that says DO NOT ENTER, do what it says. There are other ways to the cache than the obvious one. Think smart!
Wow I have been slack. I should of logged this did not find months ago. Oh well better late than never they say.
I didn't actually get to search for this cache as I didn't quite reach it. I got down to Wentworth Creek, about 250m from ground zero and made the decision to turn back. I found the scrub up on Dawes Ridge very thick and hard going. It was hot and carrying a 16kg pack really took it out of me. I had left the pack with all my camping stuff up on the top of Dawes Ridge. I got half way down to the creek and realised I wouldn't make the cache on the day but I still needed to get water. I feel that if I pushed on I would of run out of light so back up I went and on the way drank half the water I collected.
On the walk back out the next day I was telling myself that I wont be back out this way again... but it has been playing on my mind ever since :-/
Here is a video, map and stats of the trip

With all the wet weather this location had to be moved just a few metres. New cache container in a new location should make it a little easier for people that don't want to do it too hard.

With the weather the way it's been today was the first day in a while that I could get out on my bike and go for a good ride. Seeing a cache pop up on my gps made me stop for a much needed rest and admire the view.

I was out on the trail bike today and thought this cache would be a good one to do on the way out too McMahon's Lookout. I managed to get the bike down there without a problem. Great spot for a cache. Thanks for the effort
