Found a listing on the internet http://cohp.org/fl/Volusia_1.html that described the highest point in Volusia County, located on SR-15A just off of US-17 north of DeLand, Florida, this just happens to be less than a mile from my house so I figured I better grab it. The elevation for the HP is 121' but I would have to go on to private property to obtain the actual spot and no one was home so I took the picture from the property line, were I was standing the elevation was 115' and the HP was behind me.
Thanks for the hunt

Spent the day at the McGuire Center for Lepidopterns at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, it was a very interesting place with rearing lab, displays, videos and about 60 types of butterflies. They come in the chrysalis stage from Belize, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Malaysia, Philippines, Suriname and Florida.

Found this one while caching in the Ocala National Forest today, hope it counts because its not a normal turtle its a gopher tortoise and is only found in the dry grounds of central and northern areas of Florida not in wet watery areas. They are protected by law and they are the only tortoise found in Florida. Found on October 3, 2005 at approx. 1:30pm.

This house was used in the movie "Days of Thunder" the scene was shot from outside looking in thru the window and also the pool game. House is located on Tuxedo Ave in DeLand, Florida USA. There were another 6 or 7 areas used within Volusia County for this movie including the Speedway and a bridge in Daytona Beach and others. My wife and myself watched for several hours during the house scene and was able to get Tom Cruises autograph and shake his hand.

This tower is located just north of DeLeon Springs, Florida USA it is still in use and is just off the main highway US 17. Today there was so much construction and vehicle traffic I had to take the picture from the side street thru the window. There are no mountains or real hills in Volusia County but this area is a little above average elevation, for this area, its about 100' above sea level.

Kind of a bad photo. Don't know exactly what this is, most of it is missing there are steel wheels in the back the front axle is missing and is held up by a straight axle with a couple of car tires and it looks like most of the engine is missing also, it is really in bad shape. Found it in front of a field near DeLeon Springs, Florida USA

Sorry pictures are so bad but it was almost dark when we were there. Bridge was located on St. Johns River, Route 17/92 at Lake Monroe, between Sanford and DeBary, Florida USA it is a swing type bridge you can see the control house in the center, also there is a plate in the center area that covers a hand crank gear so the bridge could be turned by hand if there wasn't any electric.
