Find #2039. Had some time to kill before meeting someone so hopped on the bike doing a circuit of Waikanae/Pekapeka picking up stray caches. How far is 'urban spread' going to spread? Don't mind it so much in places like this where the land is marginal for anything but houses but hate it when good productive export earning farmland is swallowed up by greedy developers and people with far too much money. SL TFTC
Find #2037. Had some time to kill before meeting someone so hopped on the bike doing a circuit of Waikanae/Pekapeka picking up stray caches. Tried all the obvious spots first before stepping back and spotting the less obvious. Lots of muggle dog-workers this early in the morning interrupted my searching. Clever hide, well done. SL TFTC
Find #2038. Had some time to kill before meeting someone so hopped on the bike doing a circuit of Waikanae/Pekapeka picking up stray caches. Not many places to hide anything here so quickly eliminated all the obvious. A closer look revealed a tiny anomaly and bingo. Another great hide - fp this time. SL TFTC
Find #2040. Had some time to kill before meeting someone so hopped on the bike doing a circuit of Waikanae/Pekapeka picking up stray caches. How far is 'urban spread' going to spread? Don't mind it so much in places like this where the land is marginal for anything but houses but hate it when good productive export earning farmland is swallowed up by greedy developers and people with far too much money.Enjoyed the cycle ride along the newly formed path. Found the cache under the tree, which is not a pohutukawa but a Karo (Pittosporum crassifolium) - there won't be any nice red flowers on this tree in December. It's larger neighbour is also a Karo. Find #2029. Out on the bike exploring the Ohariu Valley. Nice spot, very pretty church but in desperate need of some attention. Interesting history about the ships bell - caching keeping history alive. Cache quickly located. SL TFTC
Find #2031. Another day on the bike hunting down the last few Tawa caches. Like the note from the police in the cache! SL TFTC
Find #2035. On my way home after finding a few last Tawa caches. Hardly a path, more like a goat track. The cache was quite visible, I guess hidden in plain sight with the other rubbish. SL TFTC.
Find #2036. Last find for the day after cleaning up some Tawa caches. Nice hide, becoming more evident from the muddy boot prints below the sign. SL TFTC.
Find #2028. Out on the bike exploring the caches of Ohariu Valley. Quick find on the downhill trip back to the car. SL TFTC
Find #2027. Out on the bike, exploring roads not previously traveled. Like the flat so this was perfect. Quiet location, easy find. SL TFTC
Find #2033. Another day on the bike hunting down the last few Tawa caches. Wasn't planning on going for this one initially but I ended up so close to it after finding 'The Art of Steganography', thought I'd give it a go. Took the bike in with me as far as the track went until it turned up the hill, then picked my way along the stream edge. GPS reception was appalling - at one point only 3 satellites with a 40 to 50m accuracy, but spied the fence so started from there. Pleased to have my boots and gloves in the slippery conditions. Got a lucky break really quick when I spotted some rocks and bingo . SL TFTC
Find #2030. A quick find in a very wet location but cache good n' dry. Thankful to have my boots on. SL TFTC
Find #2032. Another day on the bike hunting down the last few Tawa caches. Solution was easy, locating the cache a different matter. GPS was bouncing around and the terrain was a bit challenging; was glad to be wearing boots and had my gloves too. Eventually located it and yes it is self evident when you see the spot. Cache in excellent condition considering not found since February. SL TFTC
Find #2026. Out on the bike so the muddy track approaching the cache made for an interesting ride. Wouldn't you know it, two blokes standing talking on the road 50m from the cache. But managed too find it without detection although the blackberry offered a challenge - gloves recommended. SL TFTC
Find #2034. Another day on the bike hunting down the last few Tawa caches. What would we do without Google - it almost seems like cheating to just type in a few words and come up with the answer. Finding the cache was pretty easy too and spotted it as I approached. Nicely constructed hide! SL TFTC

Checked this one and replaced the logbook - original still workable but getting a bit scruffy.
Find #2019. Out on the bike on a super sunny Wairarapa day, the Tararua range brilliant with fresh snow. Talk about being watched - you can hardly grab this cache during the day without being under the gaze of hundreds of beady eyes and disapproving clucking - quite an experience! SL TFTC
Find #2021. Out on the bike on a super sunny Wairarapa day, the Tararua range brilliant with fresh snow. Quick find between cars. SL TFTC
Find #2024. Out on the bike on a super sunny Wairarapa day, the Tararua range brilliant with fresh snow. SL TFTC
Went in today to replace the cache, another pill bottle wrapped in grey tape to match the rocks. Hope it stays there a little while but will have to come up with something a bit more subtle. Please re hide carefully.

Coordinates changed to:

Distance from original: 91.4 feet or 27.8 meters.
Stopped in on my way north and seeing the state of this old relic, decided to move the cache in the interests of geocacher safety. The bridge's foundations have been undermined by the force of the river on the western side so the bridge has slumped drastically in the middle and is severing it's connection with the banks - not a good look anymore for a cache. So have moved the cache downstream a bit next to the modern bridge, where if you glance upstream, you can glimpse the old bridge through the trees. Take care accessing the cache, you don't want to fall!

Find #2022. Out on the bike on a super sunny Wairarapa day, the Tararua range brilliant with fresh snow. I've been waiting for a cache to pop up in this area for a few months - even considered putting one in myself but didn't. Great to have this cycle/walking route along the river open, a great asset for the town. SL TFTC
Find #2020. Out on the bike on a super sunny Wairarapa day, the Tararua range brilliant with fresh snow. A most odd placement, wonder how long it will last. SL TFTC.
Find #2025. Out on the bike on a super sunny Wairarapa day, the Tararua range brilliant with fresh snow. This was somewhere I'd never been before and didn't know about. Thankfully quiet. SL TFTC
Find #2023. Out on the bike on a super sunny Wairarapa day, the Tararua range brilliant with fresh snow. Not quite sure why this is called Stop on High when it is actually Opaki Road - more appropriately referenced to the adjacent church. Quick find between cars. SL TFTC

Find #2016. Out for a "Sunday Drive" to explore some previously untraveled roads and collect new caches. Hope the grass grows up to provide some cover for this one - a bit exposed. SL TFTC
Find #2014. Having solved all the Greytown History multi caches, took the opportunity of a quiet morning to have another hunt for this, and came away victorious . A great hide, so easily overlooked. SL TFTC
Find #2017. Out for a "Sunday Drive" to explore some previously untraveled roads and collect new caches. This one exposed also, needing some grass cover. SL TFTC
Find #2015. Out for a "Sunday Drive" to explore some previously untraveled roads and collect new caches. Is it Murphy's Law that there must be lots of traffic when you park up? SL TFTC
Find #2018. Out for a "Sunday Drive" to explore some previously untraveled roads and collect new caches. It is criminal that this river is a close second to the Manawatu for worst water quality in the country - a result of outflows from waste water treatment plants and dairy farms. SL TFTC

Find #2013. A quick find while killing time waiting for my car to get a wof. Arrived by bike, then followed the track up. Only two decent satellite signals on the gps which then had a little hissy fit and had me tracking up the hill at 10m per second until it came to its senses. So had to use gut feeling and I wasn't wrong. Found the weta hotel and the cache not long after. Clever hide, thanks. SL TFTC
Find #2010. A quick find while killing time waiting for my car to get a wof. More muggles - they turn up just when you arrive to begin hunting. Nice hide, quickly found. SL TFTC
Find #2012. A quick find while killing time waiting for my car to get a wof. Again, a new area for me. Took the high road towards the cache which was quickly found, then took the low road back to the street - nothing like a round trip! SL TFTC
Have done some of these before so I'm not going to log this as a dnf, because I think something might be awry with this one. Came well prepared with 3L of 'hydraulic fluid' plus there was a handy 'tool' left by the previous finder. Even managed to defeat the extra "hooks" with some Bear Grylls-esque modifications. But on achieving the required height, there was nothing to retrieve. Gave it a bit of a shake and a rattle in case the cache was stuck but still no joy. Will watch with interest.
Find #2011. A quick find while killing time waiting for my car to get a wof. Not been here before so new territory is always good. Pretty dark in the bush and gps reception poor. Tried all the likely candidates near the track, then followed the gps across the stream and bingo - still 10m out though. SL TFTC
Find #2009. Don't you mean the Hillary stepssssssssss......... Pleased to knock this bugger off for two reasons - one it was a puzzle cache which I don't do many of and two, it was up that hill, an effort in itself. But worth it with great views and a weather change arriving from the south just as I got there. Had to wait for annoying muggles to move on before retrieving the cache. SL TFTC

Find #2003. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. What a great cache, not so sure about the spot. Got saturated dragging through the flax bushes. SL TFTC
Find #2008. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa/Porirua area. Worked this one out, checked Google maps for the final and added to my list to find today. Nicely hidden cache among a sea of litter. My last for the day, time to go home and dry out. SL TFTC
Find #2006. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. Worked this one out, checked Google maps for the final and added to my list to find today. Nice cache, love the log book. SL TFTC
Find #1996. An awful day weather wise which meant I finished the day feeling like a drowned rat but I did manage to polish off some of the Tawa caches. Quick find, sign in the car and replace. TFTC.
Find #2004. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. Very wet underfoot getting to this one. SL TFTC
FIND # 2000 . Quite fitting that the 2000th should be this one. I've searched for this one before but maybe today in the wind and rain and few muggles about to avoid, the mind was more focused. Looked in a couple of spots first before seeing the obvious - now why had I not noticed that before? Had to retrieve a wee tool from the car to extract the log then quickly signed and returned. Nice one! A favourite point for the brilliance and for my 2000. TFTC
Find #2007. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. Being a Sunday, no one in the car park to observe, so a quick scramble had the cache in hand BUT it was floating in a pool of water and was pretty full of water itself, including the log bag. So no signing today. Suggest CO use a more waterproof type of container.
Find #2001. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. Hint did not relate at all to where I found the cache and the coords were out too but never mind! SL TFTC
Find #1998. An awful day weather wise which meant I finished the day feeling like a drowned rat but I did manage to polish off some of the Tawa caches. Clever hide, easy to retrieve! SL TFTC.
Find #2002. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. Rue the day flax and geocaching met! Don't fancy hunting for this one when the flax bush is bigger. Busy road! SL TFTC
Find #1997. An awful day weather wise which meant I finished the day feeling like a drowned rat but I did manage to polish off some of the Tawa caches. Not the nicest place in the world to hide a cache but at least I get the smiley face. SL TFTC.
Find #2005. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. Guessed this one quickly, checked Google maps for the final and added to my list to find today. Nice cache, love the log book. Gifting a favourite point because S is my hero! SL TFTC
Find #1995. An awful day weather wise which meant I finished the day feeling like a drowned rat but I did manage to polish off some of the Tawa caches. A very audacious hide! SL TFTC.
