Logs for Mitchelltwo

Beautiful ruins! We flew AA to Cancun, and stayed in Tulum. TFTC from the UK!

We tried to find this last night, but with no luck in the dark. Today, with the help of a golf umbrella and a local cacher we found it within 5mins! Took 2 TBs wanting to go back to the UK, tftc.
A shame this cache us placed where muggles will stop, not where they will be simply walking past. There was one already there when we arrived, which restricted our search, then two more arrived so we abandoned the hunt. I would suggest this cache is best found in the rain or at night, or if you have HOURS to spare waiting for muggles to move on!

Found on a VERY wet and windy morning having spent the night 50m away in the campsite! Tftc!

Found in the pouring rain, luckily we managed to park at GZ so it was a quick find. Tftc from the UK
Solved by Mitchelltwo Snr, this was a great cash and dash to do in the pouring rain! Tftc and hello from the UK
So after reading previous logs I started with the cacher's trail 10m from the given co-ords. Unfortunately the track was so steep and muddy I didn't want to risk ending up at the bottom of the gully due to slipping in the pouring rain! One for a sunny day I guess.....
Found on our way to Nelson from Jacksons. Amazing memorial, I was expecting a small statue or something! Pigfumbler took our photo, and attached it to his log. Tftc and hello from the UK.
A nice quick find in the torrential rain, pity the weather took away any beautiful views we may have had! Tftc from the UK
I love penguins, we had to stop for this one! Too early in the day to spot any, but I'm glad the fence is here to save them. Tftc and hello from the UK.
Found in the pouring rain with Pigfumbler. Amazing rock formations, so interesting, thank you for bringing us here! Email sent with answers, tftc and greetings from the UK.

Staying at the campsite opposite (best one so far if anyone needs a recommendation! ), so of course we had to pop across the road for this one! Tftc

Found with Pigfumbler back in April, sorry for the late log. Thank you for bringing us to the memorial, I had visited the twin towers as a child, it was very emotional standing in front of a piece of what is left. Tftc
Having dnf'd the other cache in Arthur's Pass it was a relief to find this one quickly and easily! No Keas today in the rain, maybe next time! Tftc
What a fun game! As we were staying with friends on Emmett st, this was the closest cache so had to be found! tftc and hello from the UK
08-Apr-17
Found on our long detour from Blenheim to Christchurch. A beautiful place to stop and stretch the legs! Tftc
Hi, we are visiting from the UK on a road trip, and can see through the window that the computer attached to the webcam is switched off! Is there any chance it could be switched back on before we leave Christchurch Sunday lunchtime? Thank you!
07-Apr-17
We are from the UK and have no idea what flax bushes and cabbage trees look like! So we rummaged around for a bit at what we thought was gz, but no luck for us.

Found in a break in the rain before wandering round Napier. Floods everywhere! Luckily not at GZ, tftc
Found today on our long trip from Napier to Featherton. Absolutely pouring with rain so we ran to GZ from the camper, took a photo of the required info, and leapt back in to the dry! Luckily the photos we took had the required info so we didn't have to get wet again! Pigfumbler has sent through the answers, tftc!

I'm soooooo glad we stopped here, what the viewpoint shows you is my favourite type of natural feature! Yay! Pigfumbler has sent our answers, TFTC
We were staying with friends 100m up the road, and tried for this one as we left this morning. Unfortunately Storm Debbie didn't want us to go caching-it was raining so heavily we could only look for about a minute before giving up! Now reading past logs I think we were on the wrong side of the road.....
In a small break from the torrential rain that is Storm Debbie, we saw the amazing waterfalls then took the short walk to the cache. No one about because of the rain so it was am easy grab! Tftc!
Found with Pigfumbler in the pouring rain! Cool mud pools, lots of photos taken, tftc

Found with Pigfumbler, managed to take control of the camera with our phone, tftc! Photo uploaded by Pigfumbler.
Our first cache in NZ! Not long off the plane, we picked up our camper and headed put of the city. Cool mine, never seen a working one, let alone a gold one! Pigfumbler has sent through our answers, tftc.
Found on our first day in NZ, gloriously sunny before storm Debbie hits! Pigfumbler has uploaded our photo, tftc.
A very clever hide! Liked it a lot. New logbook is dry, but everything else wet. Was impressed with some locals who were braving the chilly weather and going for a dip! Tftc

Please can the next visitor to this cache confirm whether my Mel the Koala TB is still in there or not? Thanks!

After a trip to the zoo we enjoyed the views from here, amazing even on an overcast day! TFTC

We came to Bondi to nurse our hangovers and get sunburnt. I had factor 30 on which does the job in the UK, but not out here! Ouch! On a break from the beach we wandered up to fetch this one. Deciding access from the beach side was not troll-like, we skirted the motorbikes to try the other way. GROSS! Discarded nappies, reall poo, broken bottles and all sorts of rubbish makes the Bondi Beach Troll a very disgusting creature! I did wonder what cacher would make others go close to that crap, when I realised of course no-one would. So I pulled back, considered the realistic options, then pretty much put my hand right on it. The cache I mean! Such a shame the listed TB went missing after only two logs back in 2011, hope the owner sent out a more successful replacement. TFTC

Gosh, even though this cache was billed as being in a dingy alley, I still wasn't prepared for quite how 'dingy' it would be! I wasn't comfortable there at all, even in the middle of a bright sunny day the alley was dark. But the co-ords and hint were good so it made for a quick find. Now to get out of here quick! TFTC

Found this unusual structure and decided it looks like cheese! I'm pretty sure it's not though...... Amazed to find I still had a tape measure in my bag after a recent shopping trip for knitting needles, so we managed to answer one of the questions to the nearest mm! Pigfumbler submitted the answers for both of us, thank you for bringing us to this unusual sculpture which we would never have found otherwise!
Oooh I liked this sculpture, I understood it much more than #1! Answers submitted by Pigfumbler and log approved. TFTC

We were brought out here by my brother in laws cousins who we met for the first time a couple of days ago on our first visit to Melbourne. They said they would show us the 'real' Australia, and they sure did! Kangaroos, Emus, wineries and views. We were brought up here to see the views and to get an understanding of how far the 2009 bushfires spread. Its still hard as a Brit to get my head around how terrible it was.
As we didn't know where we were being taken on tour today, we didn't download any caches for the area. As we stood on the top of Sugarloaf I said to my boyfriend - there must be a cache up here.....but of course we had no way of knowing where!

A quick nip out from the hotel to grab this one in the dark, we'd spotted GZ earlier in the day but decided it was too muggly to risk the grab. I'm loving Melbourne's CBD caches, they're all decent sized containers! It's all nanos and film cannisters back in London....TFTC

An event in December, in 35° heat! Brilliant! Thank you Jane for organising, and lovely to meet you all. Dropped off Mel the Koala TB to try and beat his twin Syd back to the UK. Good luck Mel!
27-Dec-13
A quick find once the GPS settled. Lots of passing muggles but with three of us 'taking photos' it was easy to disguise what we were really up to! TFTC
Love how the container was camouflaged without the CO doing anything! Made me laugh......TFTC!
Found on our way to the aquarium. Good thing Pigfumbler is agile, don't think I could have reached this one by myself! TFTC
Found on the way to an event cache this morning. A nice quick find, thanks for hiding a cache which is easy to disguise what you're doing! Sorry to say I am too young and British to have ever heard of Skyhooks TFTC

As we approached the alley, there was only one person down there, and by his body language we knew straight away it was a fellow cacher, not a muggle! So we said hi to pepitolegros from France, and joined forces to quickly find the cache. He was very glad to meet us, as his English skills did not reach the slang used in the hint! Not too keen on the location, I'm not a fan of dirty alleyways, but it was a good hide and helped us keep our streak up. TFTC
This was one of those ridiculously easy caches that we managed to make really difficult! I blame the heat, we'd only just come from rainy 5 degree England, so a 30 degree sunny day was a bit of a distraction! It was only as we decided to give up that I spotted it, how easy it should have been! TFTC
Found while on our way to the Botanical gardens fro the CBD. Glad PF was with me, he's taller and braver when looking for caches where spiders may lurk! TFTC
I was soooooo glad to find this spot, the heat was almost unbearable for a Brit just arrived in Oz! Lovely shady spot with the spray from the waterfall cooled me down a treat. It was muggle central today, we spotted the cache quickly, but had to wait ages for muggles to move on. But as soon as one set moved off another would appear over the top and start walking down! This was possibly the longest it's ever taken us to retrieve and replace a cache from the moment it was spotted! Muggles muggles muggles! Got there in the end though, and a fave point for cooling me down! TFTC
What a humid day! And are there always this many flies in Melbourne? They go straight for your face! Yuk! Anyway, first GPS took us to the lower side of GZ, but we decided it couldn't be right as the instructions said we didn't need to go into the gardens. We considered the grass to be gardens so walked up to above GZ. Clearly not to be accessed from this side we decided that grass does not count as garden and walked back down again. Checking for 'Don't walk on the grass' signs (which there were none) we headed across to GZ where the hint then became obvious. I sat down and did the 'getting something from my bag' trick while Pigfumbler reached for the cache. Great size and neat little hide! For future British cachers, in this case garden=rockery! TFTC!
