Logs for blocko

13-Oct-12
Looked for 30 min. No luck.

16-Sep-12
Found no prob

09-Sep-12
Easily found.

08-Sep-12
Nice walk. Big Grin

No geocache found. Could it have washed down the gully perhaps?

12-Aug-07

04-Aug-07
Easy find. Great view. Dog had a nice walk. Son happy with experience. Took cockatoo, left frog.

23-Jan-05
First thing I thought of when I read the news of the missing canyoner in Empress... Glad your team made the right decision.

12-Jan-05
I'm not going down to check any time soon.
The photo of the cache site is spot-on. Only a muggle couldn't see the cache from there.
Claustrophobia is gone. Now you'll have to think of other excuses to go canyoning!

See other note...

Well, as we now live in Sydney, this one is a bit difficult to check. Sounds like its gone though. A real shame, this was one of our favourites. This is the second of ours to be snaffled - Claustrophobia was the first.

It has gone where all good caches go who perish in the line of duty. Cachehalla.

06-Feb-04
Nice stopover on our way to Jervis Bay for the weekend. Good weekend was had by all.

21-Jan-04
Hmmmm, point taken EcoTeam. Didn't think of it like that...
Easiest cache to find, I thought. I should do it again. "Wow, found it again, wasn't that easy". And again. "Oh, so easy".
I guess I thought I deserved it for the effort.
Consider the find retracted and unfounded.

10-Jan-04
Well, just had to check it was still there...

19-Dec-03
Hmmmm....
Tempting.
What are the rules about finding your own cache? Wink

Park is currently closed because of bushfire risk. Check this link before you go : http://www.npws.nsw.gov.au/news/firenews.html

25-Jan-03
Found this one a while ago and forgot to log it! About 3 or 4 weeks ago I think...
I have a lingering impression of extreme heat, a little bit of a struggle with the container, and an overpowering smell of strawberries.

Found this one about 2 weeks ago but never got around to logging it here.
Hard to see anything out of the ordinary. Interesting to know that all is not as it seems.

24-Jan-03
Nice try but NO CIGAR.
If its easy, it ain't Blocko & Badge (TM).
If its accessible to just anyone, it ain't Blocko & Badge (TM).
If we move a cache because it's too hard then we would be the Anti Blocko & Badge (not TM).

As an aside, I wish NP&WS hadn't closed every last park and reserve and everything else this weekend. I wanted to bushwalk. Grrr.

07-Jan-03
Count me in if you're going in. Very keen...
Plan on checking this one out in the next few days while working in Bankstown.

06-Jan-03
After a long wait the Wollemi National Park is finally open to all comers!
Here's your chance - get this never-before-found cache before anyone else gets their grubby mitts on it.
This one was specifically designed to be - wait for it - Tangles-proof. Well 79% Tangles-resistant anyway. Warranty not included.

08-Dec-02
Found it no probs. Left glow-in-the-dark butterfly. Nothing taken. Our place just a hop skip & jump from here so know this spot well. Try the Clovelly Hotel or Barzura, Carr St, Coogee for something good to eat, short walk N or S.

05-Dec-02
Gotcha. Super-stealth mode engaged for this one!

04-Dec-02
Well I found it but not game to grab it on a busy Tuesday morning. Will come back when not so populous. Frustrating location.

03-Dec-02
Well so much for a quick easy one. Couldn't find it despite a bit of scrabbling. Pretty sure of where it must be but to hot & tired to persist... One for another day.

27-Nov-02
Nice spot. Didn't have a lot of time but had a look around the old fortifications. The view from the mast of HMAS Sydney is very worth the trip.

26-Nov-02
Found this one easily. Nice walk through a bit of bushland that could probably do with a bit more of an explore than I had time for. Left a bandage. Took nothing. One bit was difficult as I only had my sunnies not my normal glasses.

24-Nov-02
Nice cache in a beautiful spot. Never been here before - such a great view of Sydney. I may have decided where I want to live...I know someone else has because I found some hidden sleeping materiel on the way to this one. A bit of amateurish scrambling soon got me to where I needed to be. The lack of long arms didn't seem to be a problem - makes me wonder a bit about the proportions of the bushpusher...
Left Army Men. And a pen. Took nothing.

22-Nov-02
Eggsellent cache. Quite an eggperience. A lovely spot with some very interesting old things. Found the cache with a little hunting around. Great spot for a short walk - I'll probably be back one day.

17-Nov-02
Like when I walked into a bar with a steering wheel down my pants, this one is driving me nuts.
Had another look today with no joy at all.
Having found WP1 of One In A Hundred on the first attempt, I thought I was pretty good, and ready to take on the Madness again. Not so.

Nice'n'easy
Good spot, nice relaxing walk after night shift.
Didn't have any Kinder thingo's so nothing exchanged.

14-Nov-02
Found the actual cache this time. Somewhat put off by previous logs...you know who you are.
Took the hard way up, which isn't recommended. Found 4 golf balls on the way, which now reside in the cache along with 3 or 4 others. Seems to be a bit of a theme.
GPS reception poor & therefore wandering all over GZ including the right place 3-4 times before finding it - well hidden, and lots of possible places.
Thanks for a good one EcoTeam.

11-Nov-02
Well my list of all time great caches just keeps getting longer!
What a place.
What wasted hours of exertion, head scratching, searching for unlikely clues, wondering what that bit of garbage means - could it be a clue?
I did this one after working the night shift - nice & quiet, only came across 1 other person. Still, after hours of scratching around the head started feeling a bit odd and the stomach was growling. Ready to give up I headed home, then some crazy madness made me come back for more. Only then did I find it, in the depths of sleep-deprived insanity. What joy! Second waypoint found quickly, then the stomach took over & couldn't face the third waypoint -> had to head home & plan to finish up another day. Slept well!

03-Nov-02
Landed this one on the second attempt. Hard to find - more or less just stumbled across it. A smoky hazy Sunday morning with a good view across the Bay. I really enjoyed this spot, sort of stuck between industrial & residential areas.

Madness indeed!
Couldn't find the first waypoint. Searched & scratched head for over an hour. Was sure the new anti-terrorism squad would be notified that a nutter was trying to undermine the M5 by walking up and down underneath it.
Reading the other logs it sounds like its obvious when you see it. I did the trick of going for a walk, pondering life, and coming back as if just walking past to try and catch it unawares. Didn't work. Then I just went bananas and sat down scratching my noggin and muttering stealth... That didn't work either.
Now I'm hopping mad.

02-Nov-02
This is the first cache I've found with my new street directory loaded onto my GPSr, and gosh is it good - even had some of the required track on it. I love this new side of my favourite toy.
Pretty easy find - although distracted by the vast number of possible hidey holes. I must agree with some earlier posters - this area may have cost millions to preserve, but someone needs to spend a few dollars more pulling out the lantana and asparagus fern. Maybe this could be a project for the Federal Govt's so-called Environment Fund which the sale of Telstra gave to us, the people of Australia. This place certainly has heaps of potential. Maybe the council could take a few tips from Randwick Council's treatment of the wetlands at Grant Reserve in South Coogee - the best bit of urban bush regen I've seen.

We all like a challenge Twisted
We did forget to mention - if you light a fire down there at the moment then you might feel a little more toasty than you planned for.

09-Oct-02
Well I'll be... Can't find it. Spent time triangulating and figuring and thought I had it - suspicious looking package in tree. Yippee thinks I and ducks over to grab it (on a weekday lunch hour). Joy turns to dismay as I find package contains someone's very, very mouldy & discarded luncheon. By this time I have the full attention of a couple of old stickybeaks, so call it a day & head off, muttering to myself in order to confirm their suspicions that yet another of the criminally insane has been released.

To paraphrase Arnie, 'Some day I shall return to this place'.

Recon report follows:
Nothing suspicious at the mission coordinates. Mission on hold pending bright idea. The locals started to get suspicious but I fooled them with my walking around in circles looking mad trick.

24-Sep-02
Know this spot. Quite a collection... Found this one at night - a good time for the undercover effect. Did get some funny looks from a builder type who was doing something in the area. Otherwise, no-one around. Cache a bit grubby, and plainly visible - although most would dismiss it as a bit of rubbish. Took US$1 and left glow-in-the-dark spider. Covered up cache a bit better.

Beautiful area.
As suggested by previous logs, the cache is well camoflaged amongst bits of refuse. Took nothing and left nothing.

Wandered down to this one after a difficult Speelo. Great walk and great swimming hole. Went for brief swim in the pool but had to get out before me 'nads froze.

Highly recommended. Took nothing left nothing.

We suspect that we came the hard way...

Found a parking spot only 450m from the cache site and set off on a likely track. Soon came across a cliff. Descended cliff, with Magilla the dog. Scrambled across creek. Found another cliff. Ascended cliff, handing the dog between us up the sheer face. Faced with near-impenetrable scrub - made our way through with only minor gouging. Then, hearing nearby rifle-fire and shelling, worried we had strayed into forbidden ground. Finally made it to ground zero. Found cache easily & without all the torches, ropes, ladders and difficult-extraction equipment that had been suggested, and that we had lugged across the untracked wilderness.

Well worth it for the walk. Left glow-in-the-dark spider and grasshopper from Timber. Took nothing - although tempted by this thing that made a horrible noise when shaken.

Long hot walk but well worth it!
Left Fire Survivor took ant.

Nice'n'easy...
Looks like a good spot for a climb. Everything is in flower this time of year & it looks great.
Will be back in the area for Speelo & maybe Black Stump real soon.

Took grasshopper left glow in the dark spider.

03-Sep-02
Very nice one. Recommended. Took Fire Survivor & left Taz.

Lewis Carroll would have been impressed with this one. Took Taz, left golf ball. Nice walk to the town centre South of final cache.

Couldn't find the hollow shoe - don't know what we did wrong there. Anyway, took the dog for a walk thinking we'd have to come back, & found something that fit the clues. And then found the cache. Put this one down as a fluke I think.

But I never had the nerve to make...

Well actually we did have the nerve to make it, and make it we did.

Found on the third attempt after 6 month hiatus with much help from Badger. Noticed EcoTeam's attempts - photos don't look too familiar, maybe they tried the back way!

By the way - what is it with [the two boys]. That makes no sense at all.

Couldn't find the clue on / near the 2nd waypoint but took educated guess and eventually found it (after 3 goes). Many people around - eventually had to bite bullet and look silly.
Nothing exchanged.
