02.06.2024 - 4.00pm - After a few recent dnfs I needed to check on this one. It does look a little different. The original guardian/protector of this cache is more along the lines of turning to mulch so I will need to disable it until I can replace it. After some scratching round where I thought the container should be I came up empty handed... then noticed a couple of bullants and seeing I know how owwwwww they can be decided I wouldn't keep scrabbling to see if I could retrieve the container!Looks like it will also need a little location adjustment but I didn't have my good location tool with me today so will need to give it a good check. Hope to have it back in play soon.

18 May 2024 1:55 pm - 1st and only Find for the day. Find no. 1078. After visiting the old ones at inverloch for one birthday (his 91st) and their 67th wedding anniversary we needed to collect some soccer clothes which brought us to the prearranged swapover point. Last time we were here we were unsuccessful but eagle eyes miss 9 spotted something which turned out to be exactly what we were after while non geo son and miss 11 were rock hopping away over the other side. I'd come away without my tools so I was very happy I didn't need anything but a pen! Phew. Thanks for the cache.

4 November 2023 1.50 pm - 1st of 2 Finds for the day. Find no. 1073.Ngs + miss 11 & miss 8 headed out for a playground etc visit to Mirboo North & we happened to be quite close to a couple of caches. We headed from playground on foot to this one after eating, playing etc was done. Miss 8 was tasked with picking this one up and that fired up her enthusiasm to find another one. All in good condition and returned as found after signing and it posing for some photos. Thanks for the cache.
4 November 2023 2:05 pm - 2nd of 2 Finds for the day. Find no. 1074.Ngs + miss 11 & miss 8 headed out for a playground etc visit to Mirboo North & we happened to be quite close to a couple of caches. We headed from playground on foot after eating, playing etc was done and after our previous find headed to the next closest cache. Miss 8 was still sort of enthusiastic with both girls uncovering this one. All in good condition and returned as found after signing and it posing for some photos. Pretty majestic long arms the tree has! Amazing. Miss 8 had used up her store of enthusiasm as we headed up the hill to the playground where the car was ... I think she even hinted she would like to be carried but ngs and miss 11 were a little further ahead and no way was i going to manage that! We slowed our pace to round about that of a snail and got back without trouble. Everyone was a bit tuckered out ... well all the others ... but it was mutual concent we shelved the idea of heading to lyrebird walk. The clouds were still looming but we were lucky they kept their moisture. Thanks for the cache.

Didnt find it with Matthew and the girls .. 2.57pm 12.03.2023
We walked more than we needed too to get info for this ... oopps!
We did pass a wiggling stick that was in the grass off to the side on our way back to the carpark. It kept really still till we were our of sight then headed for the trees and thicker grass.

Found 1.43pm 04.01.2023 - Find no. 1064 - 2nd of 3 finds for the day - We did 4.79km of walking finding the 3 caches in this trip.
Ngs suggested we all go out for a drive and we decided to head towards Anderson to collect a cache or two that had been put along the trail since I had been looking in this area.
The rain did its thing at 1pm which was when one of the weather sites said it would ... haha .. who would have thought it would be exactly right? It got its job over but there was still a bit of a chill in the air as we headed south so made sure we all had coats on which we needed for the first find but had to shed after the 2nd find and were relegated to the car boot on the way past to the 3rd find ... it turned out quite warm by then! I had collected the needed info on a previous to the initial spot and had done the needed sums quite some time before so we were able to head straight to where we needed to be.
Miss7 was in charge of the finding device this time for most of the way but she got distracted by pine cones on the way so miss10 got us to the location but wasn't quite sure about gz. ... yes, sharing technology but at least we were outside exercising ... She returned the finding device and I verified her preferred spot then stepped slightly off track to quickly find the good sized cache. Both Miss7 and Miss10 were interested in what was inside the cache and much thought went into the possibility of swapping something again. They then had to admire things with me saying ... be careful ... we don't want to take a step the wrong way here as its a fair way down with wetness at the bottom! We had a muggle whiz past on a wheeled thing while a couple if us were off track but were far enough in that we don't think we were spotted looking etc. Log was signed and returned as found. Shedding of a protective layer of clothing became a contentious issue as m10 decided she didn't need to carry it back.. sigh .. kids! M7 did a bit of a clean up of fallen natural products on our way back of previously mentioned pine cones. They were also deposited in the car boot on our way past. Thanks for the cache.

Miss10 was in charge of the finding device ... yeah she was still doing technology but at least we were outside exercising ... and was loitering in the appropriate location after deciding the metres to go were a bit large on one side. She returned the finding device and I verified her preferred spot quickly and made the find. Both Miss7 and Miss10 were interested in what was onside the cache and much thought went into the possibility of swapping something.
No muggles up to that point as I think the predictable weather that had just happened and the possibility of more kept us safe. Log was signed and returned as found. Girls thought the location was clever. Thanks for the cache.

I hadnt done a few caches on the rail trail on the north side of Anderson but only one was still active sadly so only one additional find for us. I was still deciding if 1.2 km each way as the crow flies was a sore foot happy making thing but others were willing and I did have a single annoying green bit on my map so by mutual agreement we headed off after returning coats to car and collecting drink bottles, hats and other 'necessary' items that were 'safer' being carried to and fro.
Miss10 was in charge of the finding device this time for some of the way and was swapped to miss7 part way then back to miss10 who got us to the location but wasn't quite sure about gz again. ... yes, sharing technology but at least we were outside exercising ... She returned the finding device and I verified her preferred spot but this time we didn't spot the needed object immediately. Not long after we arrived in the shade a pedalling muggle whizzed past but was gone in a flash so didn't seem to take much notice once we encouraged misses to move their stuff from the middle of the trail. After a bit of looking hither and yon and another muggle on bike went a lot more sedately past ... good afternoon ... nope nothing going on here, then just after he was out of sight ... oh yeah ... doh! the find was made. Both Miss7 and Miss10 were interested in the cache as i don't think they have seen one like this but a touch disappointed there wasn't goodies to peruse ... not all caches have extra stuff in them they now sort of understand. Log was signed and cache replaced as found. Thanks for the cache .
Then came the 1.2 km as the crow flies walk back. We had passed a pair of walking muggles with pooches as we headed towards and it turns out we passed them again on the way back as well as another pair (or was it triple?) of pedalling muggles. I was walking a bit slower than the others so they didn't get to see the birds nest I spied in the tree when I stopped to photo the small eucalypt flowers or to see the blue tongue lizard trying to be inconspicuous on one side of a cutting. They must have past it surely?
I was almost back to the car and admiring the half dozen butterflies flitting in the shade to the right when the first speedy cycling muggle silently whizzed past on the right and nearly gave me a heart attack! We were both lucky I hadn't decided to get camera out and step across to take photos otherwise I would have been collided with!
.. .. ..
Please wheeled muggles and hunters ... be aware that you can come almost silently upon others ... make some sort of noise ... or get a bell for your bike like you should have ... and give others a bit of warning!
.. .. ..
M7 wandered back a little to meet me ... 'Did you get me any pine cones?' 'No, not this time.' 'That's ok daddy and I got some more.'
We had some interesting weather for the couple of hours we were out starting with rain and cool breeze to quite warm/mildly hot with breeze and then to looming dark cloud from san remo area as we were leaving.
Thanks again for the cache.

Found 4.33pm 31.12.2022 - ngs suggested food at his house and I had planned to use my daily walk to find this cache while it was still 2022. Last time I was invited to his I stayed a couple of nights so I said we'd need to detour a little to get this first. Interestingly when this was published I was staying at his after he'd had a short hospital visit so hadn't remembered it was there to tease me on the map.
So the plan was put into operation and ngs, miss10, miss7 & I did a slight scenic drive, found, signed & returned cache as found. A lovely almost fresh log sheet to sign. We managed to have one close muggle and his very friendly ball holding dog and were able to do what was needed out of sight. Thanks for the cache.
Nice to manage to find a cache ... only 4 for me this year but that was twice the number than I logged for last year!

The mystery has been solved ... the 'lost' cache IS still lurking in the vicinity & that's what some people have been finding. It will be retrieved & names found on the 'lost' log will be honoured on the current cache. That's a job for tomorrow .. when there's some daylight. Thanks everyone ... we'll get it sorted!
Those that found the 'lost' cache were looking too far west or east ... I'll need to check the direction ... tomorrow

01/01/2022 - 2.10pm - 1st & only find for the day.
NGS was kind & was my chauffeur again today. Look us a bit longer to get there than expected as we took the scenic, scenic route. Oh well, we missed the road we needed but decided it was no big deal as we were at the beginning time of the event rather than the end.
It was lovely to catch up with everyone today, some who had attended the event on the previous day with a few more that hadn't. Chats were had & some stories were exchanged while others got answers for a nearby mystery cache or 2. The weather was much more clement with a breeze/wind to make things feel a bit cooler. Photo's done & away we headed. Our trip home was just the scenic route rather than the double scenic route as no turnoffs were missed, can't believe we missed the road on the way over ... we were chatting & we were going a bit too briskly and had passed the road by the time the penny dropped for both of us. It did bring up another time we missed a corner in central Victoria ... that missed corner took us way, way, way out of the way from where we should have been ... we circled right round that town! At that time we didn't have online maps to see we really should have just done a uey & been done with it! ... Maybe things will get better & events & going out finding will become a normal thing again? I hope I can find more than the 2 events I managed last year! One New Years Day & one New Years Eve ...
Thanks for event Elizabeth (& Darren) [;D]

31/12/2021 - 11.40am - 1st and only find for the day.
NGS was my chauffeur today after he had to take his eldest to visit someone about her ear ache. This is the second geocaching trip for this year ... Covid-19, working from home, looking after non-geo grand daughters & resting after same has meant the year has flown past without me realising the trip we did was actually the previous year!
We had planned to arrive early but an important appointment happened at short notice so we arrived well later than planned but managed to get there in time.
The weather was hot, hot, hot so we didn't stay too long, the time for event was almost up & I also had to head back to my work machine as it wasn't a full day off from work for me.
It was lovely to see everyone today. Will I find more than 2 next year?
I remember now ... there's this logging thing that's needed!!
Thanks for event Elizabeth (& Darren)

07/11/2021 - 12.30pm -- did a health check on the cache while I was in the area. Had to use an alternate track as the short track looks a cross between a very large puddle & a shallow swamp ... cache was safe but I hadn't worn my rubber boots!
I have taken some co-ordinates for the alternate track that takes you to the less used track needed.
Alternate track -- Trail head = S38° 37.018 E145° 35.506
Branch track [takes you north](yes it doesn't look really used at the moment) = S38° 37.036 E145° 35.489
This track has a fallen tree that needs stepping over & a drain across the track that also needs stepping over but once past those two obstacles the walk to the cache vicinity is nice & clear & leads you nicely to the hunting area. The track is not wheelchair friendly at the moment.

Cache has had to come home for a little TLC. Hopefully a quick fix is all that will be required this time.

Looks like this needs to be collected & 'beaten with a big stick' to fix it. Sigh. We thought the issue had been worked out. Great apologies to anyone that has had issues.

This was the fourth geocaching trip I have been on & fourth that has been more than 1.5km from home since Covid-19 working from home started for me on 17th March! The weather was suprisingly warm, we had had a good thunder storm earlier in the day so thought the location might have been awash ... turns out that we were 'lucky' to get the rain/storm so we were pleasantly surprised it was warm/hot & quite dry.
It was lovely to catch up with everyone today, some who had attended the event on previous day with quite a few more this time. A lot of chat & some stories were exchanged.
Congrats to Zoe for getting the FTF prize. It was lovely to meet our OS visitors again & others. We sloped off before the end of the event so didn't get to see any later attendees.
Thanks for event Elizabeth

NGS was kind & was my chauffeur today. This was the third geocaching trip I have been on & third that has been more than 1.5km from home since Covid-19 working from home started for me on 17th March! The weather very nice under the shade of the Weeping Willow.

Congrats to JebJeb for getting the belated FTF prize. Heh heh, CO completely forgot to award the honour at the event. It was lovely to meet our OS visitors.
Thanks for event Elizabeth

NGS was kind & was my chauffeur today. This was the third geocaching trip I have been on & third that has been more than 1.5km from home since Covid-19 working from home started for me on 17th March! The weather very nice so all was good with the day.
After atending the nearby event we decided it was silly to leave this one unattempted although that was after we had driven down the road a bit. I was just scrabbling for a pen ... yeah, I had buried my normal writing implements in the bottom of a bag so was totally unprepared! Not like me at all . As I was exiting the car JebJeb's turned up. I was able to extricate the necessary bit of the hide & put I was in the process on putting it on the ground when I overbalanced & sat down a bit quicker than I expected! Luckily I was already squatting to it was only a short drop ... right arm did bump the fence/rail but only my pride was hurt ... no caches were damaged in the process! At least JebJeb's didn't make any comment maybe they didn't notice? heh heh. Anyway retrieval signing by all, cache & contents posed for photos & all was being returned as found when more 'visitors' arrived from nearby event Left them to it as things were back as found. A quick cheerio to everyone & off we headed back home.
I hope the CO's planned trip isn't too Covid interfered with & it was lovely to catcup up with you at the event! Thanks for cache

15/11/2020 - 11.20am - 2nd of 2 finds + 1 DNF for the day.
Out & about with NGS who okayed the suggestion late last night to take me out to hunt for some of the new caches with 2 Non-geo-grand daughters. This is the second trip I have been on more than 1.5km from home since Covid-19 working from home started for me on 17th March! The weather had warmed more & the wind had picked up a but ... not as bad as it's blowing at the moment! (3pm)
We looked in all the places we didn't need to for this one ... even went back for a little different equipment then NGS said 'FOUND IT' with a 'gee aren't we dumb' look on his face. We def made this one harder than it needed to be. The girls had found more stones (tiny weeny stones ... well ... gravel) to play with so they were happy, hahahaha They had a look at the cache then continued on with harrassing the gravel Definitely rock & stone day for them
The cache posed for photos before being signed & returned as found. We decided it was too warm, too windy & 530m each way (as the crow flies so double that to follow the tracks) was too far & seeing it was about lunch time we headed back home again. Great justification because we coudn't be bothered? At least we managed to find 2 of the 3 we looked for! Thanks for cache & getting us out of the house

This is the second trip I have been on more than 1.5km from home since Covid-19 working from home started for me on 17th March! The weather had warmed up a bit by the time we got to this cache but not too badly & the wind was still a reasonable strength ... at this point.
We were close to giving up on this one too but I noticed something I hadn't given a lot of thought to & thought what about this 'I FOUND IT' & NGS said 'I saw that but didn't look in that exact spot ... doh!'. The girls stopped making a snail corral & came to see what the commotion was about & admired the sneaky hide. Oh yeah ... another place for the girls to play with rocks big & small
The cache posed for photos before being signed & returned as found. I must admit we were close to giving up on this one too but I decided to do a bit more looking & spied what I needed. Phew! NGS was starting to feel a little despondent with the thought of a 2nd DNFs. Thanks for cache
Just noticed the last 3 letters in the GC code heh heh heh, good one!
