23 years ago it happened ... I remember I somehow switched to a news channel and the second plane crashed into the other tower more or less live. But what happened next - who remembers after 23 years .. Anyways, today we just walked to the monument, checked the name of the park and sent the e-mail, as asked. A nice park though, albeit a little grim. But thanks for keeping these memories alive!

This was supposed to be a quick dull beach stop to check the pebbles, but it turned into a small adventure, when our driver overestimated the capabilities of his microscopic Toyota and ended with providing income to the local tower boys and some gravel to roadside rednecks. Answers sent. Spent the whole day in Akaroa and surroundings, enjoyed the place (what a wonderful lazy atmosphere!), visited the museum, had a nice lunch, and meanwhile took some pictures of the lighthouse as well, with extras of course. Thanks for inviting!

The walking path was fun and seeing the lake as well. The measuring was more difficult, as we didn't have the best equipment, so messed around somewhat. By that time also other walkers started showing up and the crisp morning silence was replaced by noises audible from afar. Nevertheless, it's a great walk and an interesting task to solve. Thanks for all this fun!
