Logs for ManicWombat
21-May-24
This one has gone missing, probably due to suburbia now being so close. With suburbia come muggles! Special thanks to kolour and Brissy Cat for alerting me to this with very detailed info and pictures. I think there is no point replacing the cache so archiving it. Thanks to all who found it over it's 14 year life span.

Quite the uphill hike to get to this one. The view from the bench is very nice, so I took a break there before commencing the search. After a few false starts I spotted a likely place and made the find. The cache is a good order, everything nice and dry. Log signed and all put back as found. Soaked up the view again before heading downhill. A most enjoyable find, TFTC.

Heading south for work and with an over-night stay in Bundy I had to find at least one cache. This seemed a likely choice and I took a detour from my quest to find dinner and arrived at GZ shortly after it got dark. The place was deserted and I soon had the find. Log signed and the food mission was resumed. TFTC.
Heading south and stopped here for a break and a cache. Coordinates were spot on for me and a quick find was made. TFTC.

Checked and I can't find it either. Looks like it has gone AWOL again. Time to call it a day for this one, so to the archive it goes.
16-Apr-23
After parking on Randle Road I headed into the scrub. Before long I reached a Y intersection and of course went incorrectly to the right. Eventually I realized the problem and rather than backtrack went cross country towards GZ. This was actually quite fun and gave me a chance to practice the 'ol "follow the contour line" navigation technique. After some 500 metres of this I intersected the track I should have been on. Soon after this I was at GZ.
The cache was soon found but is not in great shape. The lid has gone and the container was half filled with water. I was in sight of the nearby house so did not hang around to look for the lid. I emptied the water and left the cache where I found it but on it's side to prevent it filling up in the next downpour. Sorry Crew 153, but you'll need to visit and bring a whole new replacement cache.
Anyway, I enjoyed my adventure getting to this one so a favorite point from me (who wants to just follow the trails anyway?).

The Garmin initially out me on the wrong side of the track. Once I widened the search area the find was quickly made. Contents a bit damp, but able to sign the log. TFTC.
After finding the other three nearby caches it was time for this one. A bit of an off trail stroll got me to GZ and an instant find. All is well with cache and contents. TFTC bar-bq
What a great place, and never would have visited if not for this cache. Coordinates were spot on for me and soon spotted a likely suspect. A nice quick find and with business done I was on my way. TFTC Amity Earth.

There was only one place to look, and there it was. Quick sign and we moved along. Lots of road works in this area but we stayed stealthy. TFTC.

Thanks Brissy Cat for alerting me to the fate of this cache. The old GZ a bulldozed mess, I guess that's progress? Cache has been replaced and relocated to here. Hopefully it will be safe for a while from any future development.

Old cache apparently destroyed by earth-moving machinery. So....new container, new contents, new location, and new hint. Happy hunting, please hide well.
Stopped by today and replaced log book and plastic zip lock bag. All fresh and ready to be found. Thanks to Brissy Cat for the log letting me know it needed maintenance.

Quick find for me today, which was great as I has traveling to do. TFTC Granite Belt Cachers.
Quick find whilst passing through the area today. Did not see the listed TB here (TB8JAY4) so hopefully it will turn up safe in a cache somewhere. TFTC.
This road is not so lonely during school drop off time. But eventually during a break in the traffic I grabbed a quick find and was on my way. Thanks GBC.
Found this one quickly today. Now to head north until next time. TFTC Granite Belt Cachers.
No luck here today. A bit pressed for time and the GPRr just would not settle. Looked in the likely spots, but the prize has eluded me, at least for now. Will try again next time I'm in the area.

Driving by here today on my way to do radio comms at a trail run checkpoint. How could I not stop and grab a quick find? No sign of a stump, but found the cache safe and well (my favorite cache container too!). Log signed and then continued on my way. TFTC Happyharries.

I was not aware this one had been archived so stopped in for a find. Had the cache in hand in quick time and all looks OK to me. TFTC Aussie Liahona and Team Robins.
This cache was on my way to Bald Rock, so happy to get a quick find. All good here. TFTC!
20-Feb-22
Finally found time to get to this one. Replaced with a whole new cache. All good to go again. Happy hunting.
New log book in zip lock bag installed. Thanks to those who let me know about the problem.
I was in the area to do maintenance on a couple of my caches and decided to stop by here. It was my first visit since placing the cache over 11 years ago. Happy to report nil maintenance required on this one. Aside from a bit of surface rust in places it looks as good as when I left it here. You gotta love ammo boxes!
27-Nov-21
This one turned out to be a little more than I'd thought. Parked in the nearby place expecting a drive by but soon realized not the case. After an interesting stroll through the overgrown surrounds I found myself plunging into the forest. Happily the coordinates were spot on for me and I had the find in no time. Dropped off a TB to continue it's travels. Enjoyed this one, a favorite point from me. TFTC jg047
I bet everybody opens this the wrong way at first. Me too! After the false start I was soon signing the log book, which I must report is soaking wet. All replaced as found. TFTC Speedmistress.
25-Nov-21
This one is very well concealed by the creeper which no doubt is loving all the rain. I was lucky to catch a glimpse of colour and there it was. TFTC Rosella90.
What a wonderful piece of local history. I would never have visited if not for this cache, so thanks for placing it Tenke.
This was the smallest and shiniest find for today. Got in and out of the area quickly as the weather was not ideal today. TFTC Aussie Liahona.
A part of Boonah I'd not been to before. Thanks for bring me here. TFTC Richmond Lad.
Another part of the Boonah area I'd not visited before. Quickly found and then off to the next one. TFTC.
Had to get out and about today. This was first of several in this series for the day. Quickly found, all is good with the cache. Cheers and TFTC.
With the rain increasing this was the last find for today. GZ was very wet and muddy in places but soon had the find. The log sheet is damp but otherwise all OK here. TFTC.
A bit of a detour to get to this one, but a pleasant drive so no bad thing. Parked nearby and soon had the find. TFTC Richmond Lad.
24-Nov-21
Quick easy find. There was just enough space in the log for me to sign but it's now full. TFTC rustyson.
23-Nov-21
After nearly 12 years out here the Systema container was past it's use by date. Replaced entire cache including log book as the old one was rather wet. Cache is now an ammo box which, if does not get muggled, should last for many years. Happy hunting, and as always please hide the cache well when done.
A quick check in here on my way to a nearby cache for maintenance. All in good order here, just needed a bit of cover on top of cache to keep it safe. Roadworks in the area but this should be far enough into the bush that it will not be affected. Please hide well after finding, thanks.
