Wandered up on a beautiful winters day for owner maintenance. Despite it's age , the good old Sistema is keeping it nice and dry. Restocked the cache and pick up Chch Relations bug.

I pondered on this one for ages with no success!!! Just when I thought I might have it, the answer would elude me Sad. So..... what was the key to figuring this one out???

Nicely hidden !

Awesome day for a trip up the Pararaha, and extended it with the Cowan Stream at the end. Showing a friend the best kept secret in Auckland, what a walk!

Found the cache without trouble, using the clue, GPS was a way out. Good location for it, leaving the option of turning back or continuing up.

Well worthwhile detour from the Pararaha, on a glorious day. This area is the best kept secret in Auckland, well worth a visit for those prepared enough for the journey.

Thanks for bringing me up here, I've passed this stream a few times and wondered what was up there, now I know!

The coords kept trying to lead me over the abyss, so had a scout around likely places and found it. Touched up the camoflage as it was a bit exposed.

Coords I got , which may be closer were S36 38.369,E174 45.141.

Nice spot for a cache, with the sound of the sea below.

Been meaning to get to this one forever, and was passing by so stopped in. Used the clue straight up, and found in record time.

Cheers, The Fergs

Checked it today, and the cache has definitely gone, shame, because it's a nice spot to visit.

Easy find with the puzzle finally solved Big Grin, signed the log. TFTC

This one has been surprisingly troublesome. I looked about three times for it, usually at night after passing by from other outings. When I first started looking, the bridge was nowhere near completion, and now it's nearly ready for opening!

Finally found it today, and it probably shouldn't have taken me so long, I think the dust covering has given it perfect camoflage.

Hooray, now I can get on with life.

Took the right track with a quick find at the top. Kids were convinced that Hobo's live in the area, but despite me calling out to all Hobo's to show themselves, none appeared.

Thanks, The Fergs.

Searched in all the wrong places, until I took the unusual step of actually reading the description and where not to look.

Found quickly after that.

Log is done, needs a replacement.

Have done Magna 1 and 5, guess I better start filling in the gaps.

Quick find with the entire family in tow, and greeted by a very friendly cat when we returned to the car.

Thanks for the cache, The Fergs.

Hey, it's only a DNF if you admit to it..... I prefer to think of it more as pre-find reconnaissance Cool

Straight forward finds, with rewarding views at both WP's. Heaps of building going on at the moment, but no problems retrieving the caches.

Thanks for the pleasant cache, TNLN

Magnificent! Great autumn's day walk to the cache and back, will bring the family here soon. No one at the beach, gentle breeze blowing. Nice start to the day.

Thanks for bringing me here.

Second time lucky, last time I came was muggle infested. Found with the clue , and ate my custard square in peace, enjoying the view.

Interesting camo, pretty 'armless really Big Grin. Good location, TNLN.

Cheers, the Fergs.

Dash and grab, I don't think so. Looked in all the usual places , and was getting a bit frustrated, not the least at the dodgy glances from the dog walking muggles... lone male, comfortable clothes, ducking in and out of the trees... mmm ???

Anyway, turns out the cache was hidden in plain view which was why I took so long to find it. Put it back where I found it, but you may want to check on it Glynn. Oh, and don't forget the comfortable clothes.

TNLN.

Spent a fair bit of time looking in all the wrong places, before finally getting my hands on the cache. Been to the beach heaps of time, never realised this resting place was here.

TNLN

No camera, but view just like the one in the description! Hasn't changed yet, but who knows, global warming and all that.

Signed the log.

Love this spot in the park, great for picnics. Took a bit of finding, but got there in the end. Nice cache.

TNLN.

Another classic camo job Glynn, well done on that one. Great views over the inner Gulf. One day if I work really hard at my job, gaining promotion through skill, effort and dedication and huge hours , then win the Powerball, maybe I'll buy a house here.

Retrieved the two TB's.

Great location for the cache, with an easy find, and good sized cache.

Dropped off Geoff Leppard.

Tide in on a beautiful day, quick easy find , cool camo on the container. Great ramp, but backing the boat down might present it's challenges Wink.

Thanks for the cache , TNLN.

FTF!! Big GrinBig Grin

I've been laid up since Wednesday with knee surgery, watching the FTF's come and go without me even firing a shot. Sad

At least being housebound gave me the opportunity to work out the co-ords for this from the clues, well all but one coord. It turned out to be so close to home, I figured it would be worth a knee rupture for a look.

Bandage came off the knee today, so with the doctors advice of "take it easy for a few days" still ringing in my ears, off I went ably assisted by a Junior Ferg as a crutch. Perhaps geocaching wasn't what the Doctor had in mind [?]

Arrived at GZ , where we had a yarn to the Apeldoorn crew returning from a days fishing. Hobbled up to the approx. location and had to trial and error the last coordinate. You know, just once, I would like to go to a M.I.P. cache with all the coordinates securely tucked away in the GPSr.

After much "look over there boy" and "bend down there son" to the junior cacher, we had the cache in hand to claim the FTF!

Quick find by the eagle eyes of the Junior Ferg. Looked around for the Wonderstuff surveillance camera or watchful eyes through venetian blinds [8)] , but didn't see either

3rd to find.

Checking cache and re-stock. All is well. Tweaked listing a bit. Dropped off Gambly TB.

Easy find, driven past here heaps and never noticed the spot. Sat on the bench for a pleasant rest.

Had an interesting chat to a couple of fisherpeople (who pulled in a reasonable sized kawhai) before sneaking off for the cache while they were taking shelter from the wind. Fun retrieval with the waves crashing on the rocks. Quick find.

Followed the newly formed Geocacher Highway from the end of the road and then to the main track. Found intermediate and final with the clues.

Tried following the path out, but kept on ending up in private back yards, so back up the GC H'way and out.

Fun cache, thanks Glynn.

TNLNSL

Needed clue for the intermediate, but straight to the final. No one else around today, blowing an official gale. Nice easy find after the fun of Bush Bash Beauty. Great place to own a house I bet.

FTF Big GrinBig Grin

Very quick find, got the phasing of the lights right for a muggle - free retrieve and replace.

Didn't even know we had a clock there, just goes to show...

Information board needs a bit of an update though.

Found with only a few wounds from earlier probes in to unrelated hiding places. Great hidden waterfall, worth the walk. May bring the kids back for a swim in summer.

Co-ords weren't doing much for me today, so used the clue for a quick find. From here, onto HM. Hotel.

TNLNSL

Damn, that's not a cache, it's a work of art Surprised . I just sat and looked at it for some some time, even though I knew it was artificial , it seemed so real. Great craftsmanship.

Awesome job Gr8Dad, worth the visit people, and the time to find it as you walk past it 3 or 4 times, to find it hidden in plain view.

TNLNSL

True drive-by, I was surprised to find I parked within 3m of G.Z. However ease of find should be inversely proportional to ease of access and today was the case.

Searched round and round G.Z. with no luck, so reversed my direction and found it on the second lap. Took quite a while, but found it in the end, at a location I had looked at and probed a number of times.

Like others, always thought this was private land, will be back here with the family.

Very enjoyable ramble through the bush, punctuated with it share of challenges. You know how you tell the kids "don't swing the bl**dy GPS around by the lanyard"? Well today, illustrated why.

The kids ran on ahead with the GPS and when Mrs Ferg and I rounded the corner on the way to Waypoint 3 saw two very guilty junior geocachers staring into the muddy stream.

"How far to go kids?" ... "Bit hard to to tell Dad"...

"You did not throw the GPS in the stream??!! Tell me you did not throw the GPS in the stream??!![:(!][:(!]"..."It was his / her fault Dad!!Sad"

Result: Up to my hips in cold muddy water, in bare feet, feeling for the GPS with my toes.

Found it, shook off the water, and the good old Etrex was still pointing the way , none the worse for its little swim with the fishes. <

After that the rest seemed easy, and after a few more stages had the cache in hand.

Despite the unexpected swim, a most enjoyable cache, and I still let the kids have a swap. Walked back to car with very wet pants.

**FTF** Big Grin

A really good spot for a cache, and it sure is a decent size. The view from here is awesome. Thunderstorms predicted today, but it was quite still when I got there.

Thanks for putting a cache here, I took the Travel Bugs with me.

*FTF* Big GrinBig Grin.

The birdsong was absolutely amazing when I found the cache, I counted at least six tui's in the tree, all singing their little hearts out, it really was something. I just sat and enjoyed the chorus for a while.

Good location for the cache, although if it slips off it's perch I pity the person who has to retieve it Twisted.

Thanks for a nice cache in a great location.

TNLNSL.

Well, after the nice finds at Eleanors and Imogens's caches, I was all set for three in a row FTF, but it appears Magnus has defeated me.

Searched around the likely location for some time, including under the fixture there, but no luck. Eventually the quizzical looks from the park staff told me that Magnus is the champion hider and I left.

But that means there is still a FTF for someone at Scandretts, I was feeling a bit greedy taking all three anyway Red Face.

Think I'll take the kids back and try again soon.

**FTF** Big Grin ! It took an hour or so last night of listening to Eagles MP3's to get a couple of the songs, most I knew straight away. I never did get the second-south one figured out.

After translating them to numbers headed off, and trial and error'ed to get the second south digit, I knew when I hit it right, the GPS led straight to a likely looking GZ, and sure enough there it was.

Good little challenge thanks, and enjoyed the music, looking forward to the next one in the series.

Thanks for the cache TWS. TNLNSL.

Found it on the way up the hut, as a family overnight trip, cache in good condition.

Got all the way up the Pinnacles that afternoon, but only got the occaisional glimpse of the view because of the cloud Twisted .

Came back out via Billy Goat track, highly recommended as the return trip.
