Dog and owner appeared as I was waiting for GPS to settle...then they disappeared and I found the cache. TFTC
Best find of the day!
Windy day made trees move lots. Branches fell around me. Then settled to nothing... magic!
GPS took some time to settle.
As I was logging my visit, I heard something, looked up and saw a dog running no more than 10m from me. I thought the dog might pick up my scent but kept going. The dog was followed by a she-muggle and another dog - I was in full sight - My heart raced and my brain scrambled to think how I was going to explain why I was standing half behind a tree in a desolate forrest... but they both kept navigating the path and disappeared as the appeared... double magic

Drove back home from picking up a Trade me purchace on the Shore. What luck! I was there on Tuesday to see the Ten Tenors but it was too busy - so close yet so far. Felt a little down that I could smell it but couldn't get it. Little did I know that I would again be in the area so soon. I didn't have any gear with me - did it all in the dark. Had to go and sit in the car to be able to see what was on the log (BTW - it is a bit damp)- portable hair drier anyone? Great hide - thanks!

Spending the holiday season with family. Haven't done a cache for such a long time since my father-in-law passed in October. Drove by when returning from our Boxing day shopping. Turned off, got out and recalled that it was a magnetic... looked around as I STILL don't have a GPS!!! Found it easily enough. TFTC

Dear glyn(the only one)
I do appreciate what you have written. Yes my initial "TFTC" was a bit brief. I am still new to the sport and am still learning. I do apologise for not giving a more timely personalised account of the find or a more explicit evaluation of your placed cache, the environment, the weather or muggles and or their dogs. Your commitment to the sport is commendable and I hope to be following your example (excluding the threatening of fellow cachers with "deletion" if I don't like what they wrote/or didn't write).
I had surgery on the 1st before I was able to log my find from the day before. After the surgery and feeling still quite "delicate" I sat down to log all my finds of the day before before I forgot. I'm still saving for my GPS (all [63/81] have been done without a GPS. About 18 caches I did with a friend who had a GPS).
I received your comments before I could "review" my logs...
Here it goes: Wow - what a great piece of Auckland heritage, celebrating the new millennium - the link between the 1st and the 2nd. Over the years I have had many a drive-by. When I stopped - not only did I find a great piece of art, but a great icon for many an Aucklander. On the day the weather was just horrible - it was very windy and low cloud meant that other icons like Rangitoto and Waiheke were not visible from GZ. Muggles were few and far between because of the Wellington weather... There were no muggle dogs around.
The cache was well hidden and securely placed. What I liked was that the cache was within easy reach and made replacement quick and painless.
Glyn, I hope this edited log has your approval and I will get "permission" from you to continue doing caches around the Auckland area. I commit to update the other logs that also were left with the sparse "TFTC".
BTW TFTC (Thank you for your cache/commitment)
