Logs for emooshka

It's a miserable day for walking today but there was a waterfall and a cache so double motivation for me. Lovely landscape and a nice walk, partly sheltered from the rain too. TFTC

I didn't have to forge new ground here as it looked like many had gone before me. Not too many prickly bushes at this time of the year but walking through the forest to get to this point was very creepy. I kept hearing the ents talking to each other. As in a previous log the cache was upside on the ground. It looks like something has been chewing on the container. I've put it back in the location mentioned in the hint.

I got a dirty bum looking for this one and only spotted it by chance. No where near where I thought the clue was pointing me at and about 12 metres away from GZ on the gps. Sitting behind one tree on it's own, I didn't move it to where I thought it should be in case I was wrong.
Driving along the forgotten highway today and there was a bit of time to get in a few caches. Nice hide. TFTC
Driving the Forgotten Highway today and there was time to get a few caches in. Nice hide, almost didn't spot it. Very few people in town today apart from a couple muggles outside the pub wondering why people travel through the town! TFTC

This was my second walk of the day after the loop track and lookout didn't take too long. Getting here was a bit challenging in places but it's a great walk. The container is soaked and I emptied the water out but the log is still dry inside the bag. A little damp but ok. TFTC
I managed to make it to the mountain early enough to see a bit of it before the cloud came down and shrouded the top. Nice cache, easy find.

I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. TFTC Quick find
I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. I searched and searched and searched until there were no more places to look. Not having too much luck today at all.
I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. the hint seemed clear and it feels like it shouldn't have been easy but couldn't spot it anywhere.
I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. This very nearly beat me as it was a different place to where I thought it would be. Great hide. TFTC
I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. Continuing a day of bad searching for me today

I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. A nice time to stop on the walk ad grab another cache. TFTC

I was on my way back from a day trip to Mt Cook so it seemed like a good time to get in a few caches along the way home. A bit of trust involved reaching for this one - I've found similar ones covered in cobwebs. Luckily this one was clean. TFTC
Quick find but you need long arms to get in to this one. No muggles about and the weather was getting pretty bad so I hung around long enough to pose for a picture Freda style then went on my way. Took some French francs, left Hong Kong dollar and Thai bhat. TFTC
On my way to Mt Cook despite the rainy weather and had time for a quick stop off here. Very few people around so early in the morning and I was well hidden from the rest stop. Nice hide. TFTC
I was on my way back from a day trip to Mt Cook so it seemed like a good time to get in a few caches along the way home. This was aquick park and grab with GZ spottable from the car. Log book is nearly full. TFTC
Theh wind picked up just as I sat down to write in the log and the weather went downhill from there. I was heading for the Hooker Vally walk but only made i thalfway before having to turn back. Still, it was nice to get a cache along the way. The log book is full so I signed the back cover of the notebook. Space for a few more autographs but will need to be replaced.
I was on my way back from a day trip to Mt Cook so it seemed like a good time to get in a few caches along the way home. Beautiful view even with MT Cook shrouded in cloud. TFTC
I was on my way back from a day trip to Mt Cook so it seemed like a good time to get in a few caches along the way home. I missed the spot for this one and had to turn and go back. Interesting spot. TFTC
I was on a day trip to Mt Cook and stopped off here for a walk on the way back. The rain eased off for my walk here which was a bonus. Nice spot. TFTC
I was on a day trip to Mt Cook and stopped off here for a walk on the way back. The rain eased off for my walk here which was a bonus. Nice spot but look out for the small innocent looking green plants which stab your fingers as you walk by. TFTC
I was on my way back from a day trip to Mt Cook so it seemed like a good time to get in a few caches along the way home. Came slightly out of my way to get this one but the name and association drew me in. TFTC
After trying two times before it was meant to be 3rd time lucky for me and Mt Cook, unfortunately the clouds had other ideas. But I managed to get a few caches in so not a loss and Mt Sefton was fairly spectacular on its own. TFTC

But what a lovely view it is. A nice quiet spot as the sun is going down at this time of year. Quick find. TFTC

Lots of trees and lots of 'splits' but no cache for me today. Co-ords jumped about a bit but kept to 1-2 m in one spot more than others so that's where I searched the most. Sadly not to be.
My last find on the Fern Walk and a great walk it was. Although, without the caches to search for on the way back from Fern Walk 1 to Fern Walk 8 only took me about 35 minutes. TFTC
The rotten tree is an incredible sight and has some amazing shapes and patterns. Lovely site and a nice hide. TFTC
Nice and easy to spot once you've got the right log and the right fern. TFTC
Number 150 in my total which was my target before leaving the south island. I've still got a few weeks to goo yet so my new target is 180. Working backwards on the Fern Walk this was the third one I found. Cache was at ground level (and covered in spiders when I found it) and not where the hint suggests. I re-hid it as I found it. TFTC
This was the second find for me on this walk. The cache was visible from 10 metres so I re-hid and covered so it's less likely to be muggled. TFTC
This was the fist one for me on the Fern Walk series. It was a cold, crisp day but a long series of caches gave me a good reason to get and enjoy the weather whilst on a walk. TFTC
This was the last one onthe Fern Walk for me having missed it the first time I went passed. I gave up on finding GZ and just searched and that was what finally led me to it. Log book is very wet. I managed to sign but I don't think it'll last too much longer. TFTC
The first one for me on the Fern Walk. Nice and quick once I'd spotted the fern. The log was slightly damp but ok. TFTC
Time to bag one last cache before I left Peel Forest and this was a nice one to get. The ground was still crunchy after not having thawed out during the day and it gave the church grounds a nice atmosphere. TFTC
I do love these trees. 1,000 years is a long time to be around. Nice hide and didn't take too long to spot once I approached it from the right direction. Log book is damp and there's quite a bit of condensation in the cache although I was able to sign it. TFTC
22-May-14
I was on my way to Mount Sunday so had to make a little stop off at my namesake. Beautiful spot for a picnic. TFTC.
I arrived here at the same time as a tour group but managed to make it up well before them to give me a bit of time to search. It was incredibly windy at the top and I struggled to stand in some of the gusts. Nice find and a good spot to check out Helm's Deep too. TFTC.
I searched and searched and searched for this and maybe I missed the obvious. Couldn't lay my hands on it.
Had a good search all around GZ for this one, found the DOC materials at the opposite end but nothing else.
