We probably should have had a look for this one last night when there were no people around.We read that the cache was placed with the owners permission so we felt okay about looking for it while the shop was open.The cache really could only have been in one place so it was an instant find and it is all in good condition.We then had a good look through the store and shared many memories from our childhood. Some of the items on display I still use in my kitchen. Other items we have given away and when we see the prices that were being asked we probably should have dropped them to the store and helped support the business.Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
It was pretty wet underfoot near the cache, I was rather pleased that GK went in to find this cache. He wasn't 100% sure what he found was the cache until he opened it. That is a good idea for keeping the log easy to retrieve out of the container.It is all in good condition.Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
We have been to this area years ago to visit the possum fur shop (when it was one) I remember just how beautiful the blankets were. A jolly good use of possums.We had never walked up to look around this area so we were keen to come and explore.The wee fairy dell was pretty cute at the start of the walk, the herb research area was quite interesting to see too.The bush was lovely, and the mining area was interesting.\Thanks for showing us this area, it was a lovely way to spend some time, and we got a bumandworker cache to add to our statistics so it was a well spent couple of hours.
I don't think I have been this far up Plain Road before, I remember doing a cache closer to the main road some years ago.This was a nice quick find thanks to the recent maintenance carried out by andy.gail.Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
This is an area that we have never stopped and had a look at before. The information panel here was most interesting, especially when it informed us about a 13.7 meter flood that went through the area. It is hard to image how much water and the speed it must have been traveling at.There was a family swimming by the falls (they are much hardier than us, we were getting around with jerseys on) and there were several gold panners in the river as well.Thanks for placing this cache and thanks to andy.gail for replacing this one recently.
We had stayed nearby and were planning to have a bit of a look around the area today as we made our way back down the valley and headed for home.We are keen to find bumandworker caches and when necessary, do any maintenance that is required.Like the last one, this one the container was also broken, because of the placement of the cache the log was still dry, so we replaced the outer container with a new one, but kept the log as it was still in good condition,Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
