Logs for pjmpjm

23-Nov-24
Replaced cache and log sheets.

08-Nov-24
Very quick find today with my old friend Rogerw3. Just like old times! Great to see this ancient cache location updated and remembering the tragic event from long ago. Room for a 'small' or even a 'regular' here. Thanks very much to the Lurliners for another Upper Blue Mountains hide.

Coordinates changed from:S 33 43.636 E 150 17.564Coordinates changed to:S 33 43.634 E 150 17.558Distance from original: 32.7 feet or 10.0 meters.Moved only a few metres from its original hiding place.

Replaced cache in new hiding place. Someone cut down the tree!

21-Oct-24
Replaced in the original hiding spot.

Cache replaced as before. Should be an easy find. There's a lot of contruction going on at the car park and picnic ground and, at first, I was afraid that the entrance to the Gordon Falls track was blocked. But no. As you drive down the street and approach the fenced-off contstruction site, you'll see a little sign that directs you in behind all the goings-on, behind the contruction area, and this temporary route will take you right to the beginning of the track to GZ.Take note: there are two trails off the picnic area and you want the one with the 'Gordon Falls' signpost.

Guess it's better to disable this one until I check up on it.

20-Oct-24
I should be over to GZ tomorrow or the next day to get this geocache fixed up. Sorry for the delay. I was in the hospital for six days but am more or less recovered now.

19-Oct-24
Replaced the cache . . . back in its original, lower location. Hope it surivives!

18-Oct-24
A recent finder has just confirmed to me that this cache is still in place.

Replaced muggled cache about three hours ago.

Could well be muggled. I'm going to drive over in a couple of days to check.

12-Oct-24
Looks like this one must have been muggled. Will drive over soon and check.

06-Oct-24
Drove down to check on this cache today and found that it was still in place, with a few rocks and sticks piled on top of it. Sadly, the 'big tree' is no longer there! The BMCC has cut it down. So the cache is still in exactly the same place, but now behind a ginormous stump, freshly cut. A small slab of concrete is still covering it up, and I added a colourful slice of gum tree for a bit of additional camo. There's no need to go into the construction area. The cache is more or less next to the barrier fence.

04-Oct-24
Checked on this little cache today and it's right where it should be . . . waiting for the next finder!

14-Sep-24
Guess it's been muggled.

31-Aug-24
Wind gusts have probably blown the little cache down Katoomba Street . . . Will replace it once this infernal wind finally stops.

30-Jul-24
Just checked on this geocache and it's in place. All OK.

I walked down today and moved the mis-placed container to its proper place, at one of the most beautiful lookouts in the Blue Mountains!

29-Jul-24
I'll try to get down to GZ tomorrow and replace the cache near the 'Big Rock' closer to the lookout.

11-Jul-24
Replaced log scroll this afternoon.

Replaced cache contained and log sheet this afternoon.

26-Jun-24
Coordinates changed from:S 33 42.733 E 150 18.557Coordinates changed to:S 33 42.719 E 150 18.557Distance from original: 85.3 feet or 26.0 meters.Moved slightly along the armco.

I drove over to Katoomba today to check on this cache but, for the life of me, I couldn't find it. I looked for nearly half an hour. Could be a case of 'cache creep' . . . where recent finders have moved it. Anyhow, I've left a new hide, somewhat bigger than the first one, and have updated the coordinates. If you find a 'micro' and not a 'small' please let me know. You can still log the find, but I'd love to know where the old cache has gone. Or maybe it's been muggled in the past week. Check right at the end of the armco.

02-Jun-24
Enabled! Just outside the temporary metal gates, at the corner of Cliff Drive and Chelmsford Drive, at the base of the big tree.

30-May-24
The Blue Mountains City Council has just announced that the Leura Cascades road will be re-opened tomorrow. I'll be driving to GZ on Saturday to re-activate this cache. Thanks for your patience!

17-May-24
Yep. It was muggled. Yet again. Sigh. Replaced the cache and can only be hopeful that future finders tuck the little hide away properly.

Visited today and discovered the problem. The cache tends to slip a bit too far into its hiding place, making a long and thin arm necessary. So, with great arm-exertion, I've moved it about a metre or two, to a much easer and far less elegant spot. Should be easy to find now. Hope it isn't immediately muggled! (Hint pretty much tells the whole story.)

Poked the cache back into its proper hiding place.

12-May-24
This beautiful area was due to be opened last week, but the Council found that the heavy rains damaged the culvert underneath the road, so the closure will continue for a while longer while repairs are made. I'm watching this GZ very carefully and will make everything 100% as soon as traffic is allowed into Leura Cascade. Won't be long now!

02-May-24
Stopped by here today on my way to the doctor's office. Yep, it had been muggled. Replaced in a new place.

25-Apr-24
I had to look twice! Thanks, Rider13, for another upper mountains cache!

24-Apr-24
Dried out container and replaced the log sheet.

04-Apr-24
Found in the most likely place, on a cold and rainy day. Thanks, TeamBarnaby!

03-Apr-24
Used my long-nosed pliers to free up the geocache, that a recent finder had stuck in a nearly inaccessible cranny.

Replaced container and log sheet.

Drove down towards Leura Cascades again today, and the road is still blocked off. However, I'm told that it will be reopened soon.

Replaced container and log sheet.

25-Mar-24
Replaced cache and log. All was OK in any case. This is a good cache to try to find 'after hours.'

Dried out container and replaced the log.

11-Mar-24
Not by me, but by the extremely helpful Dutch_Kiwis! Can't thank you enough! My health still hasn't allowed me to walk up to this hide, which is located in such a beautiful place. Now it's in good condition again and ready for more finders.

09-Mar-24
Because of health issues, I haven't been able to walk to this cache and repair it. The road will soon be open, however, and then I can drive right to GZ. Please be patient for a few more days. The local newspaper reports that the roadworks will be finished soon. Thank you!

28-Feb-24

Cache creep. Someone has misplaced this one. Will drive over and reposition it soon.

Dried out the container and replaced log sheet with a fresh one.

21-Dec-23
This afternoon I replaced the cache with what I hope will be a more waterproof container.
