A long day walk circuit starting at Harrietville, up Bon Accord Spur, across the Razorback, summiting Feathertop and down Bungalow. Low cloud offered no views all day but good to get out and nice temp for hiking.. TFTC.

My favourite cache in my short 36 cache history! A terrific location which took a good 30min and a LOT of rock scrambling in circles before nailing it.
Another place I have visited many times before. Some great views of the valley through the trees. I had to use the hint after 15min as I had to get going. TFTC
A beautiful spring morning passing through early in the morning. Lots of wildlife around too. Great views from the hairpin bend and a memorable section of the road through the park. TFTC
Have been to this site dozens of times but only today as a geocacher! The falls were really pumping and the view down the gorge spectacular. Only some screwed up balls of note paper to record on and they were a little damp.TFTC

TFTC a lot of effort has clearly gone into preparing this one. I really enjoyed this challenge. Thanks
27-Aug-23
It took a couple of visits and obviously a bit of homework to work out the final location of this one. Well done to the team for the effort put into this cache,
10-Aug-23
An interesting final location to complement the theme. I enjoyed having a look around. Unfortunately the container lid has disintegrated and this has resulted in rain getting inside. If in the area again I will try to replace it. TFTC.
03-Aug-23
The fruit trees seem really out of place here: A great spot to watch a great sunset. TFTC

Found on 17/5 on a beautiful autumn day with a group of yr9 outdoor ed students from GVGS.

17/4/23 the first of 3 caches found on the beautiful Bogong plateau. I love it up here and have been here many times. TFTC
17/4/23 Aka “Simons Lunchbox”. A terrific part of Bogong that not many people get too. A great cache in a great location!
I really love exploring this part of Bogong and have been to West Peak numerous times. Following this cache I continued on down to Little Mount Bogong. I had been to this rarely visited summit twice before but never from West Bogong down. The scrub is horrendous and I don’t recommend this hike. The views from the summit were great but the scrub bash continued down to Moncrieffs track. I was shocked at how much the vegetation had grown in the past 2-3 years and I didn’t really have much fun. TFTC.

A big day walk from the trout farm up north-west spur and across stoney tops. Have been up, down and around most tracks in this area dozens of times but this was my first trip across the ‘tops’.
There was a large tree trunk that had fallen at 0metres and it had squashed a lot of vegetation making it hard to search at ground level but the biggest issues was the ants. They were horrendous in this area and despite 10minutes of looking - got tired of the ant bites. One for another day.

My first time across the north Razorback and I enjoyed the solitude. Excellent views everywhere. Obviously not too many venture to these parts. An easy one to find. TFTC
Picked up this cache on a big day walk from the trout farm (north-west spur) and out to Stoney tops and then back. I was originally searching way too far below the location but found it eventually. One of the container clips has broken off. TFTC

TFTC i appreciate the effort that has gone into creating this cache- interesting and creative. Well done. My only worry was the fear of stepping on a snake as I walked through the very long grass to get to the cache.

I have to be honest, I have wracked my brains trying to solve this conundrum and still haven’t solved it. However, I still managed to find the cache and the container is cleverly and appropriately ‘themed’. Thanks!
I like the container - creative and appropriate for this cache. Unfortunately the log book is waterlogged and I was unable to log my find. I’m up this way quite often and will attempt to add another log book and a new snap lock bag.
Happy Australia Day! A cooler day today, perfect for geocaching. Collected the clues and plugged in the coordinates to get me to the cache. Unfortunately a little moisture has found it’s way into this container. I didn’t have a pen with me so make sure you BYO pen for this one. TFTC.
Sticking with the log theme this one was also easy to find. Again, some creative work put into making the ‘log’. Thanks.

Love the sheep! Not a heap of finds in the log book, but I enjoyed navigating through the scrub to get to this one.
Given the high number of visitors Federation Hut receives all year I thought the location of the cache was a good one. Unfortunately the container has let some moisture in as the log book was damp and the plastic bag has broken. TFTC
After a few hours hiking around Feathertop I stopped at this cache on the way home. I had to hurry as a thunderstorm was brewing. Love the skier but no log book or pencil.
Actually found it on 19/1 but forgot to log it! Interesting history on the original cache going back to 2002. Relatively easy to find but was worried about snakes in the long grass.
I’ve been up to this spot a number of times in summer and winter. Great views from this location and a sad story about poor Molly. TFTC.

Took a good 20min searching and was heading back up when a final look around resulted in finding the cache. Hard to avoid walking around on the corrugated iron and my biggest fear was waking up a snake from underneath! Yep, hard to grasp why this seemed like a good location for a hut. TFTC.
Finally! This was my third time up Rene’s in 10 days. The last record in the logbook was 2019 and a lot of grass had grown in and around the cache in that time making the ‘find’ quite challenging. Despite a quality waterproof container a small amount of water had seeped in but no damage done. A terrific location, thanks.
Loved this one. Congrats on a fabulous and most suitable cache container. Also found part of the old stove further down. Hard to believe just how big the bungalow chalet must have been in its prime. Thanks.
A relatively easy find but 10m from the cache I came across a snake! All good and some terrific views from Mt Hope.
05-Jan-23
A relatively easy cache to find but the walk up from Diamantina’s Hut in gale force winds made this a real slog. Terrific location, thanks.
No luck finding this one. Spent a good 15 minutes searching the road side rocks but couldn’t find it. Again, great views from Danny’s Lookout.
This cache was really well hidden as the description states! Kept a keen eye out for snakes. Thanks.
Had another really good look today- over 30min checking everywhere but mostly above the cellar. No luck.
02-Jan-23
We found the cache easily and the walk to Mount Loch was superb on the first day of 2023. TFTC.
This was my second walk up Rene’s in a week! The first time up I wasn’t looking for caches and walked up the steep eastern side. Today’s attempt however, sadly resulted in a dnf. This time I walked up from the west (mt Hope) side which was more gradual, albeit scrubby in sections. This route passes some old hut (CRB?) ruins at the start. I spent a good 20min checking a heap of snow gums in the vicinity of the stone cairn but no luck. I will be back. This is a great spot for a cache, very few non-geo cachers would ever visit Rene’s. Would appreciate an additional hint or two.
Great views from the top of Higgi. We worked out the coordinates easily enough but it took us 20min to find the cache.
01-Jan-23
Unfortunately a dnf for me today. Checked out the cellar and then spent 15min above it searching in and around the trees but no good. I’ll be back.

I have toured inside the Keeping Place many times and there are some really interesting dioramas depicting aspects of traditional indigenous life. Sadly it doesn’t get many visitors these days. TFTC - interesting concealment!
I have visited this ‘costean’ (hadn’t heard this term) a number of times before so knew what I was looking for. I enjoyed reading the historical significance and an interesting location.
