Logs for Net88

All good to go after some maintenance

02-Nov-24
This one is all up and running again after it was visited by one of the co hiders. Happy Caching

25-Feb-24
It's in the calendar!!

28-Jan-24
Unfortunately this cache has just been slowly on its way to death over the last few years. I can't maintain it so I will be responsible and archive it. Thanks to everyone who has written lovely logs and celebrated the Captain's Birthday over the years.

03-Jun-23
I created this geocache when I was living close by as I really liked the area. Unfortunately it has been washed away so many times that I have deemed it a bad hide. We get some of those I guess. I hope this clears the area up for a better more sturdy and long lasting hide.

16-Jan-23
This one has served it's purpose now... is it still there? No idea.

14-Dec-22
Out in Southbank this morning for a work thing and had some time to spare. Feeling bored because I left my switch at home I tried to remember what I did before I got my switch. Oh yeah... Geocaching.

I opened the trusty app and headed over to GZ. There was a man resting on the closest bench so we sat nearby and waited him out. It was exactly where I expected and was a quick find once the area was clear.

Thanks for the cache!

20-Aug-22
When I decided on this day to hold the event it was long before I knew it was International Geocaching Day, nor that the Guiness World Record was going to be happening.. though I do wonder who else would ever try to beat the record?

Thanks to everyone who came along and made the event such a great celebration. It's nice getting to see geocachers in their natural environment, in a random park in a random suburb.

15-Aug-21
Back in place but a smaller container to hopefully fix the muggling problem.

14-Aug-21
Out night caching with Kez from saintsmadhouse and we decided to hit up these yobbo caches that I hadn't found first. Makes sense. I vaguely remember this place so wonder if this was a new or replaced cache since my original hunt.

This one again didn't take long to find and we soon had our names in it and back to the car for coffee. Tftc Prime!

I heard the lovely Kez from saintsmadhouse was up here for a few days so after work at 8:30pm I picked her up to grab coffee and go yobbo hunting. Because what is more iconic than drinking coffee and night caching.

This is number one of the two I hadn't found and it was exactly where I assumed it would be. Parking the car took longer than the search and the street was empty.

Thanks for the geocache and excuse to catch up with Kez P'Prime

Replaced with smaller container

11-Jun-21
I am almost back on my feet after a few weeks of bed rest so will be looking at replacing this one in the next week or so.

17-Apr-21
Sounds like a good way to spend the morning.

07-Apr-21
sounds like a brilliant idea!

23-Mar-21
I would imagine that since this logbook was already damp that the latest torrential downpour and flooding in Brisbane may be enough to dislodge this one. The container *MAY* still be there, but I am doubtful. I will head down when the rain clears up and see if there is a better location.

21-Mar-21
Oh yeah logging is a thing isn't it.

With some sunday morning plans being cancelled late saturday afternoon I messaged Captain Terror to let him know I was able to make it along. I turned up early to help set up, a task that was pretty much already done and I was handed a coffee. Win!

I was super impressed with the amount of teams that turned up today and the amount of rubbish everyone collected. Quite a few teams filled up a bag, emptied it into the bulk bag and headed off to find more.

With some prizes handed out and a photo taken it was time to head back across town for the rest of my plans. TFTCTRLNSL

I was lucky enough to be part of Team Dipa... (we definitely had conversations about whether it was pronounced diaper or dipper) which consisted of 4 cars carrying... Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo, Radnoski, Team Herbz, Mrs Just-a-Trifle, KBreeAhh, Ponchomon11, Captain Terror, Crew 153, Pprime and OzBeanCounter.

It was day 2 which sadly meant we had to return to Brisbane after a great day along the beach yesterday and a brilliant night camping with friends last night. Whilst we were in Rainbow Beach grabbing the needed info we decided to grab a bite to eat. I went to order my cheeseburger and realised I had been on a holiday to Bali with the woman behind the counter who is friends with my parents. After a chat I joined the others again and we planned out the rest of the day. This geocache was found without much issue having 13 of us. I did have to laugh along the way as OBC realised why everything was rainbow. TFTC Nyssaflutterby

It was day 2 which sadly meant we had to return to Brisbane after a great day along the beach yesterday and a brilliant night camping with friends last night. This was the last cache for the day. The walk seemed longer than it had to be and with a swollen and very red leg I definitely wasn't going the fastest but the container was soon found and I was soon heading back to Brisbane to find out why my leg was not working as a leg should. Thanks for the cache Sphir3

It was day 2 which sadly meant we had to return to Brisbane after a great day along the beach yesterday and a brilliant night camping with friends last night. This was a very quick find by the group. I held everyone up as I filled my drink bottle from some of the last water Kab had left. TFTC Sweet-Sour

I really enjoyed the drive to this geocache sitting happily in the back of the Mighty Suzie. The geocache was found quickly and signed DIPA. Time for the next one. TFTC powellbruce

It was day 2 which sadly meant we had to return to Brisbane after a great day along the beach yesterday and a brilliant night camping with friends last night. This area was familiar to me, I remember being brought here before but I don't know why. Between watching people jump from the top railing of the platform into the water, trying to find a dry way to GZ, nearby adventure lab and refilling water... everything was happening here today! With DIPA added to the logbook it was time to head off for the next one. TFTC The olly's

It was day 2 which sadly meant we had to return to Brisbane after a great day along the beach yesterday and a brilliant night camping with friends last night. We were about to head home when a few members of our group noticed this one and wanted to attempt it before heading home. We arrived and all fanned out to start looking for the correct information. I found my favourite spot for a photo. I believe OzBeanCounter was the one who submitted answers for us. I don't know if I have ever *FTF* an earthcache before. We had stopped at the shops around the corner with promise of coffee but as we got out of the cars decided for something cooler. We also topped up our water supply. We were told by Mr Herbz it was just around the corner so we should just walk there from here. Yes, it was, technically, only around one corner... but it was a little further than I expected.

Nevertheless, we walked there and before too long had entered the track and started the real walk towards GZ. The geocache was found without any real difficulty and soon we were piling in and onto the Herbzmobile and Canyonero for a ride back up the hill to the cars. Thanks for the cache oztigger

This was the 3rd geocache attempted by a few of us for the day and the 1st find! Mr Prime came up with the container and started signing it quietly without letting anyone else know. Soon we had decided on signing all logbooks that weekend as DIPA to save on room and we were off for the next adventure. TFTC Cooroy Scouts

This series has run it's course and sadly it seems the areas that they are hidden are no longer being maintained. I have gone out this weekend and removed the containers that were still in place. Happy Geocaching and thanks for visiting Terror's Creek.

I was out geocaching with ozbeancounter and their eldest bean for the day. This one was one of the main ones for the day as we are both fans of older geocaches, and obc especially loves ones with original logbooks.

It was really heartwarming to see someone get so excited about a logbook and it made me reflect later on about how many wonderful older geocaches I have found in my time.

No problem at all finding this one, just as expected. Thanks for the cache If!

I was out geocaching with ozbeancounter and they mentioned that this multi was on their wishlist for the day. I am not one to turn my nose up at a multi so off we went. I won't give much away for this geocache as I think the journey is the best bit and boy did I have a great time. Thank you so much for the effort and time that went into this hide. TFTC Net88!

Please stop bushbashing to this geocache. It was designed to be waded to hence the attribute and terrain rating. If bushbashing continues I will have to archive it.

This morning I had a podcast recording session with IolantheK and I had asked her if she could show me what this strange tree fishing thing was that has popped up in the last year or so.

This was the last geocache for us today. We had found some geocaches, recorded a podcast episode and had sushi.. a pretty great day I think. IolantheK told me about how when she found this one she flicked too hard and it went flying. She was very excited to see me do the same. Unfortunately for her though I retrieved the container with the grace and expertise of someone who has been doing this for much longer than my current 1 hour. With my name in the logbook it was replaced as found and we started the trip home.

5 4 3 2 1 Found it!

It took me longer to say that joke to IolantheK than it took us to find the container. This morning I had a podcast recording session with IolantheK and we decided to go and grab a few geocaches afterwards. We were heading up to Bullocky's rest but IolantheK really wanted to stop for this geocache on the way. TFTC

we had just found a nearby fishing geocache but I still had this little icon taunting me begging me to find it. So we ducked down to the end to grab it before continuing our fishing. IolantheK had found this a few weekends earlier but couldn't find it today, this one took us quite a while but after I checked the first spot we looked for a second time the container was found.

This morning I had a podcast recording session with IolantheK and I had asked her if she could show me what this strange tree fishing thing was that has popped up in the last year or so.

We parked and grabbed the fishing pole and headed over to GZ. We were too short! Luckily IolantheK had a small step in the back of her car and using the step we finally got the container. Name was added to the logbook and the task of returning was completed so off to the next one. Maybe next time we won't choose such a windy day!

We parked the car and headed off to find the first bit of information. Before too long we had a bit more and then we were off to find the geocache. At the previous one we were too short but this one was just right for me to grab. with my name in the logbook and all replaced as found it was time to head off for the next one.

We were heading up to Bullocky's rest but IolantheK really wanted to stop for this geocache on the way. We parked across the road and as we were crossing the road we both spotted a very obvious spot and as we got closer we saw the container. Names signed and off to the next one. TFTC

This morning I had a podcast recording session with IolantheK and we decided to go and grab a few geocaches afterwards. IolantheK said that she had dnf'd this one before so we decided to head here and turn that into a smiley for her. After a bit of searching, in such a horribly muggley area we decided to paf to narrow it down a bit. After a bit more of a search we came up with the container. TFTC ArchieF

We needed to paf the last one but we kinda knew what we were looking for this time so it didn't take as long. On the walk back to the car I spotted a cool branch that seemed to defy gravity. I was at the celebration event here and the prizes were announced. Oh look Shane got the wherigo.. that'll be funny to watch. But then Saintsmadhouses phone wouldn't download the cartridge either. I handed off my trusty oppo and kept chatting to the co and other cachers. Soon enough I was given the direction to catch up with them and I was able to meet up with them just before GZ. At GZ we were all pretty blind, the cloud cover and rain made the accuracy not so accurate. But soon Shane found the container and he was properly the first to find. Thanks for the cache Orange Crew

I was determined to make this event as I wasn't sure how many more I could get to as I often work weekends. Today I had a friend's engagement party starting at 10:30 so I thought I could spend a few hours there and then head over for the community celebration.

I arrived at the same time as the saintsmadhouse crew and we headed over to the party to catch up with friends. Soon the rain came down and I looked behind me and saw Fang and MinnieMoo with the gazebo. I have never been happier to see Fang! A quick hand to get the thing up and sides on and then quickly brace for wind. I ended up with a slightly wet behind but it was worth it for the rest of me to be dry.

I had a great time catching up with friends in the month off restrictions. Thanks for the event Orange Crew!

Count me in! I've even got the day off.

03-Aug-20
New container and logbook. Hopefully this one doesn't get burnt out or muggled.

28-Jul-20
I have an earlier engagement finishing at 2 on the southside so I will probably be there closer to 3 but I will be in attendance for some period of time!

I have been trying to get back into solo geocaching lately. I don't often go geocaching without friends but decided that since I have a podcast on geocaching I should probably be a little more active and with covid everything is currently a solo activity.

I remember attempting this multi years ago but not finding the container. Today I grabbed the info needed and headed off to the final coords.

I had a handy stick in the car because of a nearby wherigo and using it to poke I very quickly found the container. Back to the car to sign the logbook. I signed my name over someone elses who had faded as the logbook is full as mentioned in many previous logs.

With my name signed I replaced everything as found and my stick and I headed off to enjoy the rest of the sunny day. Thanks for the cache genyo
