Logs for gibler

Hmmm I will have to ponder what to do with this.
Sadly it was pretty much rubbish city last time I looked.
I've read the council are seriously considering opening it up again but given the money situation I don't think so.

Sadly that previous cacher was way off track. Probably they didn't read the instructions at WP3 carefully.
The explicit hint at WP3 is that one of the digits for the final co-ordinates as the digit zero in it (but these don't exist in Sudoku - so a letter needs to be "fixed").
Also people tend to try at get at GZ (final) from the nearest street for some reason, instead of an easy stroll that crosses one locked gate (there is even a car park provided)! Smile
No barbed wire, bulls etc required.

yeah the cache is still there. I spied a dash of colour at Capt'n Obvious.
A good day for a walk. On the way back there were a few sea lions doing some fight'n.
TFTC.

ah now it see it wasn't there all along. Spent ages searching until sprung by some young muggles.
Makes sense now.

Armed with a pdf of commercial fish species (as seen in fish and chip shops) I gave this cache a go.
Took far longer to find the WP than it should of. With no one around I sat down at a table and studied by netbook with the pdf open.
Actually managed to get some good co-ords for once. One species was using the maori name I note.

Thanks for a good mystery cache as I contemplated those pesky caches on the islands.
A new spot for me. Cheers!

didn't spy the hint objects but finally turned up the cache as I was thinking about leaving.
TFTC.

The wind was howling in today but from the NW direction.

It did take a while to get to GZ in soft sand. I'm was not too sure which direction or gradient we are supposed to be measuring at GZ or which dune.
Took some very rough measurements with my tent poles and tape measure. The wind wasn't helping.
Dashed off before the rain set in. Email sent in.

Nope didn't find it but didn't spent too much time as I was racing to get to a spot during low tide.
Didn't see the hint object .. must have been in the wrong GZ.

quick grab . bumped into another cacher and had a good chat.
Cheers.

Last time I was here I got away with dry feet.
Up to the ankles this time.
Up the rope, round the track and a bash through some flax.
Then as I was sure I was close to GZ I spied it.
Ran into other cachers comping up the rope on the way out. Nice to meet you!

yes the co-ords were 10 m out for me. I did average some new ones but then forgot to save them.
used the bitsprayer tip to make for a quick find though.

for such a potentially exposed area, I searched about and turned up the film container.
TFTC.

Heh i see. Capt'n Obvious made a quick find and no one at the playground.
Cheers.

Yes ... now a highway of a track. Quick find at the gee of the zee.

ah the old camo job. You need to be careful that muggles don't surprise you.
thanks.

Well with the right GZ this time it didn't take too long to turn up the cache.
Great to get this done.

katie w sent me the co-ords for WP3.
Didn't take too long to track down the other WPs and cache.
I'm sure there used to be a cache up here at one point.. TFTC.

Quick grab. Last time there muggles right at GZ (or were they cachers??) and then there was Delta hanging about.
Cheers.

rapidly found. thanks indeed.

nope didn't find it. I wish I had remembered my torch. the hint didn't help.

14-Jan-11
Oh I see... no wonder no cache was turned up.
thanks.

Still heaps of muggles but just ignored them.
Not too long before turning up the cache.
Thanks cumbyrocks (although Arana is better Wink

A good view indeed. After getting fascinated with the wrong area i went further up and quickly found the cache.
Cheers indeedily.

hmmm I will confirm the co-ords with the owner.
Not having the picture with me didn't help....

Puzzle was solved ages ago.
Wandered into GZ not following any track.
looked for quite a while, only to go back to where I started - how did I miss that?
Good to get this one done. TFTC.

Took longer to walk up there from Sullivan's Dam than I thought.
Cache turned up pretty quickly. Good to go to a new area. Cheers.

Gave my new tramping boots a bit of a workout.
Wasn't that bad. Had to use the hint. revisited a spot and there it was all along.
Great camo job. Thanks.

Struggled with WP1.. until I sat right next to it and then spied it.
After that it was pretty easy. WP3 has some water in the bottle. I tried my best to dry it out.
The final was an interesting location... looked around for a while before turning up the cache. thanks.

What a difference some accurate co-rds make (thanks katie w for confirming).
After a bit of a look around, turned up the cache this time.
Cheers.

11-Jan-11
turned up quickly. I rechecked where I first started and here it was.
Cheers.

I had to use the hint - how I missed it was beyond me.
Alas, when found the lid was off the cache ...
thanks for a new area.

lid was off when found . The log book is sodden.

found WP1 in the end... the proverbial needle in a haystack.
Think I found the object for WP2 gave it a good search but nothing..
Gave up.

09-Jan-11
Even though I didn't have the co-ords, I had already scoped out the area.
Once I realised the nature of something, I quickly turned up the cache.
Good to get this one done at last.

Even on a sunday it was quite busy.
Had a rather cursory look about - I will need a nudge from the owner me thinks...

GPSr had me moving around a bit. When i approached from the right side, I quickly spied something. There is was.
Last of a Ravensbourne bike outing TFTC.

I'm sure there was a cache around here some time ago.
Quiet today, so easy find. Cheers indeed.

Another Snilos cache eh? Spied some geocache elephant trails that let me straight to it.
Maybe I'm getting back into the caching zen zone. Cheers.

Bag is torn and it looks as though the log book got wet at some point...mould etc.

Oh once I found something of interest, it certainly was discarded.
Muggles can creep up on you around this area.
Cheers indeedily.

Puzzle was quick to solve. No problems with the final location either.

With a quick look about I spotted something out of place.
Took longer putting the cache back. I wasn't getting fooled your hides today Big Grin

Surprisingly for me, it didn't take too long.
The area was pretty quiet at the moment.
Cheers.

OK I have no idea what is up with the *pot* plants very close to GZ?
Easy find in the end. Cheers.

07-Jan-11
well I was having no problems with this cache, found on first visit.
had to wait for the hordes of muggles to leave.
with a few moments of panic I scrambled to retrieve the cache and duly signed it.
the scars on my legs will heal with time.
cheers.

06-Jan-11
ah a quiet time of year. didn't take too long to spot.
hopefully went unnoticed (especially by one person).
Cheers.

05-Jan-11
probably put on quite a show for those in the overlooking hospital.
couldn't find anywhere that was within half an arms length of a path.
will be back.

the rain kept the muggles away. looked for a while then returned to the first likely spot - there is was all along. Cheers.

04-Jan-11
alas it looks as though the mindless taggers have moved in.
there is considerable rubbish in the approach, I may drop the council a note to clean it up.
Cache itself is remarkably dry and OK.
