Logs for Trigg-A-Nomics

06-Oct-23
What an awesome view at sunrise! Found on our "slow trip"to the EP. Great spot. T: Batman L: kryptonite. TFTC!

A lovely camping spot on our slow trip to EP. Mind the ants when you retrieve the cache! TNLN TFTC

28-Sep-23
Checked on the cache today in the lovely spring weather, all looking good!

25-Jul-23
Temp cache in place, the original hide was so much fun I will rebuild it shortly.

15-May-23
This is a pretty tricky one which has required experienced geocachers to PaF in the past so the DNFs aren't surprising. I've upped the difficultly to 4 and will visit as soon as practicable.

10-Jul-22
A great walk on a blustery day. Parked at Diggers Rest and followed the Lavender Trail to the top. Enjoyed exploring the telecommunications infrastructure and lamented the loss of our Trig point heritage.

07-Oct-21
Our third visit to this cache and it is still just as wonderful as ever! The last visit was bittersweet as I5 had just broken her arm and was in hospital so she missed out. This time she was the intrepid space cadet who buckled in to the life support and led us deep into the darkness for the find. Thank you for the joy this brought her and the generous trackable to boot!
The Pines continues to be well maintained and we took a lovely walk around the dam to the new bird hide before having a picnic lunch on a lovely spring day.
TFTC
T: new trackable
L: green space nugget

The pines are gone but there's no point pining for the trees of your youth - there's always another one to climb!

Found this lying on the ground despite not even looking for it! Terrain and difficulty certainly didn't fit where we found it so we gathered as many contents as we could and hid it in an appropriate location nearby.

06-Oct-21
We revisited this cache again today with the clan twice the size of the last visit in 2010. Still just as lovely as we remembered, with lazy white clouds drifting in a stunning blue sky and well preserved cache and logbook to bring back some memories. Thanks for the history, we appreciate it! T: marbles, bookmark. L: travel bug, key chain

05-Oct-21
Our second log for this TP, 11 years after the first. The family has grown to over twice the size of our first visit and all enjoyed the walk, the views and the attempts to recreate the original photos! The trig point lies forlornly on the ground, presumably removed because it blocked the signal of the nearby "Starfire 3000", a commercial attempt to augment GPS which will soon be as obsolete as the trig point itself. Technology marches on, but I often wish we were better at preserving our technical and scientific heritage.

03-Sep-20
A quick find on a daddy-daughter caching day. Took TB, left pencil, domino and bag for the log. TFTC!

A quick find on a daddy-daughter caching day! Took some booty, left a jewel. TFTC!

A quick find on a daddy-daughter caching day. Left a pony. TFTC!

08-Feb-20
A lovely spot and a lovely cache for a bit of Father/Son caching. T: Pony L: Dinosaur. TFTC!

Another great cache for Father/Son caching! Quickly found while admiring the bent bike and the sheep skull. T: Gems L: Indian. TFTC!

07-Dec-19
After a nearby success we decided to have one more look and were successful slightly south of the suggested GZ. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find.

Had a good look but no luck

Our first find in ages! A lovely walk on a daddy-daughter day with J5. Took coin, left pathtag. TFTC!

19-Oct-19
Hmmmm, maybe this wasn't the best one to start caching again on. Never understood why you would hide a nano in a place like this.

Despite using previous logs and photos I searched unsuccessfully with L for 30 minutes while a mini muggle patiently waited for us to move on.

17-Feb-19
Offline for a bit while I reset the camo

03-Feb-19
Reset and good to go

21-Aug-18
Apologies for keeping this one for so long! It's now on the move again.

18-Aug-18
A great walk with the kids! First cache for a long while. TFTC.

07-Jun-17
Project completion has slipped - "The O-Bahn City Access Project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2017."

I will do another site inspection in the next few weeks to see if GZ if safe to access.

05-Apr-17
Modifications to GZ by the O-Bahn City Access Project (http://www.infrastructure.sa.gov.au/public_transport_projects/o-bahn_city_access) will continue until "late 2017". Unfortunately this cache will need to remain disabled until the site is remediated.

Sometimes Engineering takes as long as it takes Smile

08-Jul-16
Temporarily disabled until I can check GZ.

03-Jul-16
Checked again and the cache is safe and well although a little grubby.

19-Jun-16
Checked on this one today and confirmed that the info boards near the Hackney Hotel still contain the required clues.

Checked on this during a visit to the area and confirmed that the Creswell Garden arch is still there!

02-May-16
Offline while GZ gets some attention from the extension of one of Adelaide's unique engineering masterpieces.

30-Mar-16
Description size and hint no longer match the replacement cache.

Quick find but the replacement cache disappointed the kids who were hoping for some swaps.

08-Mar-16
Checked on this one again and I'm happy to say the cache is still there and safe and well. There is plenty of grass obscuring the cache so make sure you hunt around the rim at ground level.

The history of this cache just keeps getting better. This spot must exist in some engineer's database or checklist because once you lift the lid you are greeted with a engraved note which states *"This Stobie Pole supplies power to the lights and traffic signals at [nearby] intersection."* Which is nice, because that means the Stobie Pole Removal Team who helpfully left the original six foot cache freestanding and in place back in 2010 must've actually been a **Virtual Stobie Pole Installation Team!** Bravo to them!

And the council, ever endeavouring to keep the non-engineering public safe from engineers, have helpfully installed a marker over the cache to stop anyone from accidentally walking into the Virtual Stobie Pole.

Enjoy!

07-Jan-16
Hunted for a long time with the kids and found a good hidey hole but no cache.

Incredible to see these big machines up close.

Found covered in ants and snails.

08-Jul-15
What a lovely walk! The kids wanted to walk to the upper dam today so we took the opportunity to grab this cache as well. A magnificent tree and a well worth the walk.

07-Jun-15
A lovely walk with the family in some lovely afternoon light. Just perfect. Thanks for a great afternoon. T: TB L: Toys

31-May-15
Unfortunately China did not grok the size of the rock, and sent me small pieces of plastic that were not small enough. A new order will be placed shortly and hopefully we will be grokking again soon.

19-Feb-15
Lots of people have grokked this rock, so much so that the cache has gone off the clock. Offline until I can reestablish a mutual understanding.

Performed penance by replacing the logbook, pencil and dinosaur. Meet the customary dog waking muggle in the dark and a mopoke on the fence post. A lovely night!

25-Jan-15
Daddy-daughter caching today and this was a great cache to pick for it. A quick piggyback from the playground and some delightful swaps brought a big grin to both of us. Thanks!

30-Dec-14
What a wonderfully constructed cache! Hopefully it survived the fires that followed soon after our find.

What a wonderful cache! We were all fiddling with the nuts when A thought sideways and spotted something out of place. A real corker!
Thanks for the second cache of our family outing.

A quick find to start our family day's geocaching adventure! Don't think we've had the car this full before!
Looking at the presents on the graves reminded me that some families have a very hard Christmas.

12-Nov-14
All back and ready for a new season!

08-Nov-14
The rock grokked the cache so much it stole all the camo! Offline until I can restore it.

22-Oct-14
Well Vic Square is looking pretty schmick and even Kingston approves! His engineering heritage did not fare as well though as the benchmark was filled in and covered with bark chips, probably by a local stobie-pole removal team. There is more than one person in Adelaide with an eye for Engineering heritage though and when I arrived at EAC404 I discovered the bark chips had been cleaned away and the very tip of the benchmark was now visible.

Aha! An engineering challenge! Or perhaps just an archaeological one. Some careful cleaning revealed the needed numbers and Kingston's benchmark was back in action.

No-one ever seems to notice me doing odd things around the city. Perhaps odd has become the new normal.

05-Oct-14
A cream bottle does not a good cache container make. Replacement log book is already wet.
