Logs for Stringybeen

07-Oct-24
Immediate find. GZ was a bit off among tall buildings but was still close to the cache as described.

Guessed the hint - from way back.Neat container but the magnets have become unstuck.Left a trackable, which I later found I have not activated. Would the next person to take it please do that.

GZ was between two possible hiding objects but no cache could be found, even by following the hint.

Quick easy find but we did not notice any wittiness.

06-Oct-24
Didn't read the description until we found the library closed.

Spotted by Mes Sb, as so often happens. In town for the Australian ORIENTEERING championships.

Neat camo' spotted by Mrs Sb, after a failed visit nearly 5 years ago, also because of ORIENTEERING nearby, this time it was the Australian Championships.

The several good hiding spots within 10m of GZ were empty.Perhaps the "cool container" has been souveniered - again?

05-Oct-24
Great use of redundant hardware for the container. It took a bit of effort to retrieve it.Passing through town during the Australian National ORIENTEERING Championships.

04-Oct-24
A 'container' which I have not seen before, in an unusual position. In town for the Australian ORIENTEERING Championships.

What a filthy site to put a cache.Bring rubber gloves to look for this one.

Nice one. Quickly found by Mrs SB, without the spoiler photo on 8 Sept 2024.

01-Oct-24
In town for the National ORIENTEERING Championships. This site is popular in school holidays, but who bothers about what weird 'cachers are doing?Mrs SB found it, as she so often does.

25-Sep-24
Very pleased to be led by Blossom* and Strike-a-Light to the grave of the man who shot down the Red Barron and then to locate the cache.

24-Sep-24
I tried for this one nearly 11 years ago and today don't know how I missed it then.Interesting container.

Simple but ingenious. It's always good to find one in this series. Thanks for the idea.

We've been back here and to visit the grandson in Waverton several times since the first try for this cache over 4 years ago.GZ has had some renovations since last time, which helps by excluding those bits I think, also suggested by a long previous log.Nevertheless, another dnf today. Maybe next time - in September?

31-Mar-24
Didn't have Garmin so was using the hint, which now sounds out of date.

The North East side is a much easier climb, but....

29-Mar-24
It was about 3m north of GZ, then easy to find.

After some advice a friend worked it out. Nicely done.

28-Mar-24
Container is a bit big for micro.Just off a pleasant lunch cruise on Captain Proud paddle boat.

GZ was within about 3 m but it took a bit of searching to find the hint object as that's now overgrown.

23-Feb-24
Visited with a Trek Tasmania walking tour.I forgot to check my Garmin had downloaded the caches. It hadn't - again! I also left the power cable for my laptop in WA but fortunately our group included a lapsed 'cacher who helped with some details from his phone. We had a great time on the island.I hope the owner will validate my first FTF in > 1500 finds

22-Feb-24
It was a hard slog up, warm and very humid and a knee-testing descent . Our Trek Tasmania walking group drank a lot of water.Wind on the summit deterred a few, but it was worth the extra 15 minutes to get there. I'd forgotten to check my Garmin had downloaded the cache. It hadn't but Team Legomen kindly helped with his phone so deserves to share this FTF.The views were great. The photo may explain my Geoname.

23-Nov-23
Visiting son and grandson nearby.Had to wait to replace the cache while a stream of school students traipsed past towards the Coal Loader.

22-Nov-23
Quick find, thanks to the hint and previous logs.

16-Nov-23
Four of us failed to find this one when last in town, five years ago, but my old friends Blingg and Robbo 56 got it two days later. From what they logged at the time it has moved since then, an example of distinct 'cache creep'? Today it was discovered by 'Without a Name' and Soul Oracle' while we were all being misled by the hint.

Noticed something slightly different and there it was.

Glad to see memories of local history being preserved this way.On a sunny day it was quite easy to see.BTW this container is more usually described as 'small' than as micro.

Quick find although it was not easy to see against its background.

15-Nov-23
There was nowhere to hide a 'small' cache within 20 m of GZ.

Smart. It still works although the camo' is damaged.

Quick find, thanks to an accurate GZ.

Too many possible hiding spots for me at the beginning of our cycle day from Angaston.

Obviously didn't look in the right place.

Spotted it at once.

Didn't understand what was needed at the time.

Can't remember if this was one of the ingenious ones, but I did note the log is full.

Another imaginative cache, which took a bit of effort to decipher how it worked.

Found out in the open so I've tucked it where I think it came from, just beside there.

It was rather easy to see so I've partly covered it, beside where it was.

Too many posibilities to loiter while on a bike ride.

Spotted it at once as there are others like this in the region.
