Logs for Drdalek

08-Feb-15
Out for an early morning cycle with the CO and we passed the GZ and he challenged me to find it and solve it Wink
Great camouflage and a tricky little number to open. All up took about 5 or 10min.
The hint is a tricky one though, I needed some help with that, but shouldn't have.
"It's Only The Beginning" lives up to it's name. The design of the camouflage is ingenious.
TFTC - definitely agree that this is not a 'peak-hour' one to avoid muggles, and good fun for kids to help solve it.

07-Jan-15
Yay. Got the coords puzzle ages ago. Finally got a chance to locate the GZ. Excellent work. TFTC.
But ARRRGGGGHHHH didn't have a working pen, so photographed the log instead. Sorry no spoilers Wink

18-Jul-14
Nice easy find. But muggle central Wink
Had to wait a bit before being to grab & sign. TFTC.

06-Jul-14
Nice easy drive by. TFTC.

30-Jun-14

Great dog park!
Log book is soaked. Could not sign it.
TFTC.

09-Jun-14
Took a walk along the Kunzea track with the geofam on Queens Birthday. It's a nice walk up to an easy cache. But the cache was really incidental to the walk. The kids enjoyed hiking and they found the GZ quickly and were happy about it. We stopped for a few minutes to enjoy the view and wonder about where the original house was and how the original occupants would have travelled to and from the area before heading out towards Pidding Road. We managed to do the walk from Buffalo Creek Reserve and return before the afternoon rain set in. There were quite a few other walkers and families about, but no muggles at the GC when we arrived.
TFTC!

26-Mar-14
Found it straightaway today, in plain view. In a spot I've looked before. I suspect the GC on this one might be a bit fluid. SL & returned to same spot. TFTC.

23-Feb-14
Found this morning with Dinkyfish.
Some clues from the log helped locate the GZ.
With our aGPS making B&D equal is spot on.
I've not seen this camo before. Very nice!
TFTC.

Rode past "Epping Leash Free" with Dinkyfish and we dropped by to grab this one as well.
Neat little GZ. Well done.

09-Feb-14
Found v1.0 last year, so didn't want to leave this one hanging for too long.
Didn't have a pen on me so will come back later.

Popped by on a morning walk. Dodged a few muggles to retrieve it, then sat down on the bench seat to SL.
Had to move quickly to avoid muggles when replacing.

Sad
Hint leads me away from posted coords. Left no stone unturned in my search. Maybe next time...

Quick lunch time walk down the street to Stewart Park was fruitful.
Loved the camo, nearly dismissed it at first, but when moving it out of the way we were pleasantly surprised.

16-Jan-14
After picking up Nocturnal around the corner, we decided to p&g this one.
Quick and easy. Love the camo. I saw one like this in Melbourne at Scienceworks. Great work.
SL, TNLN, TFTC.

2nd night cache for the evening with Dinkyfish & Waterfist.
We took a bit of time at WP2 trying to figure out which way to go, but after a few minutes followed the likely direction and spotted the markers. From there the choices were a bit easier. The path needs a little care at night, even with 3 torches. Spotted a spider, heard some rustling in the bush but didn't spot any other "residents". GZ was straight forward and an easy CIH. All was dry and clean. Left a TB, & SL.
TFTC.

My 50th GC and 1st true night gc. Found it with Dinkyfish & Waterfist.
We were a little puzzled by "number" versus "amount" for WP2, but figured it out soon enough.
The walk to the GZ was easy to follow and not too rough. BUT, the Mirkwood spiders slowed us down a little, however once we evaded them the GZ was located and had CIH.
SL, left a coin.
TFTC.

15-Jan-14
Finally grabbed this one near home. Took the gz sniffer for a walk and played on the swings with gk while SL.
Replaced with the clip at the top of the container for easier retrieval. Nice shady spot. The coords are spot on.
We were watching the little a's train for a while and then walked back home.
TFTC.

11-Jan-14
On the way home and noticed we were close by so stopped in the park for some play time and then strolled down to the GZ. Should have noted the terrain rating more closely though Wink
Retrieved the gc and put in a few swappables and geokid's calling card.
TFTC.

Have passed by here a few times and had a DNF just before Christmas. Was puzzled a bit as I thought the name was a give away. My initial problem was not reading attributes carefully enough. I spent too long looking for a micro/nano. After some advice from Waterfist, I dropped by today for an immediate park and grab.
The camo is brilliant!
The log is a little damp though.
SL. TFTC. Well done on originality and design.

Dinkyfish pointed this one out to me, as our GC handle implies we kind of like the Doctor.
Tom Baker is the family favourite and we were thrilled with the cameo in the 50th.
I have a home made scarf ahla 4th that trails about 3 metres.
I had a look at the clues and thought the solution was plain, until trying to assemble them.
Sent off a msg to Gatherer Hade and he asked a question in return that prompted me to look again at the clues and the co-ords materialised.
Geokid and I drove down to the GZ and swapped out the TB with another. She also left one of her personal Dalek calling cards and retrieved The Master.
TFTC. This was fun!

04-Jan-14
A lovely little park to visit as a family.
Cache was a quick and easy find, so we stopped to play on the swings for 15 min or so.
Just as we were getting ready to leave some cachers arrived and started diligently searching all the obvious hides. I'm assuming from the log it was 'Team Lego Men' Wink
TFTC

30-Dec-13
Riding around Marsfield with the geofam and we stopped in the park for a rest. Thought I would check the new cache here, but no luck. Found a likely spot, but am assuming that with a d/t rating of 1.5 I'm not expected to climb the tree mentioned in the hint.

27-Dec-13
Cycling from Hornsby to Ettalong with our group, "L'Equipe Riz au Poulet", we stopped for a drink break and enjoyed the view. Waterfist mentioned there was a cache around about, so dialled it up on the aGPS and viola!
A quick grab while the muggles weren't looking.
SL, TNLN, TFTC.

21-Dec-13
Grabbed this one quickly during a night time visit to the Chauvel St Christmas lights.
Replacing it after signing the log was tricky as several muggles decided to stand right next to the GZ and have a long chat! Left and came back after an hour and replaced when no-one was around.
TFTC!

02-Nov-13
While doing a night time park and grab at "Lane Cove Valley Expressway" with Dinkyfish, we walked across to this one and SL.
TFTC.

A quick night grab before heading over to UnWined for a night out.
SL, TNLN.

Quick night time park and grab with Dinkyfish.
TNLN, SL, TFTC.

A MiniDalek team quest - dropped off a Teddy TB - NB: the tracking codes don't seem to be working.

29-Sep-13
Minidalek loves the Dino-Mites caches! This was a simple PAG - but with a few dog walker muggles passing by it was a little bit tricky. She loved the idea of being able to retrieve and replace the cache herself without the muggles seeing what she was up to.
TFTC.

17-Sep-13
Found it.
TFTC.
I found it much quicker than expected. Not sure if that's intended as it might be a bit too exposed for muggling. But I've left it as found just in case. It's a good first time mini for a newbie.

02-Aug-13
[^] Night time park & grab.
Took the TB for the geokid to log & monitor ...
TFTC

01-Aug-13
Just wondering if the WP coords are still accurate?
They seem to point to an area that isn't wheelchair accessible...

21-Jul-13
Lots of eyes helped on this one, plus DF's torch Wink
TFTC.

Managed to reach the GZ via paf from dinky fish & water fist.

20-Jul-13
So many of these little playgrounds in this area.
Nice to have a GZ in this one.
SL. TFTC Dinomites!

A nice little bush park to take a walk through.
TFTC Dinomites!

10-Jul-13
Found the Log & signed the log.
Very tricky GZ, took us about 30 min of checking all of the potential camo.
This is an excellent cache. TFTC.

08-Jul-13
Nice camo!
Nearly a park & grab, but the hide gave us a couple minutes to pause & check out the old bridge.
SL, TN. TFTC.

A little trip into town to grab some groceries & a little cache to find.
The geokid enjoyed the camo on this GZ.
SL, TN. TFTC.

05-Jul-13
Went back into town so I could properly update the aGPS and returned today for a quick park & grab.
TFTC.

No joy today.
Enjoyed the hunt and learning about the stewpot Wink
Took a few minutes to look around the GZ & turned over a few things and looked into others, but still DNF.

No joy today.
After looking again at the photo supplied by CO, I wonder if we had the right GZ as the tree there is considerably larger/higher than this one.
Trees really mess with aGPS so this was a bit of a blind search anyway. Nevermind.

04-Jul-13
On the way out of Scienceworks and quickly grabbed this little guy.
The camo is brilliant. Great effort.
No sign of Max today, but as it is school holidays there were thousands of muggles.
TFTC.

02-Jul-13
A quick park & grab on the way out of the park.
The nest is still there, but appears to have been deserted as the sticks aren't as thick as the GZ photo.
Exchanged some swaps for the gk mini-dalek.
TFTC.

Another afternoon out with the family & K9 the Dalek's pet.
This is a great concept for a GZ. We looked the wrong direction at first, but free rechecking our bearings, we soon had CIH.
SL & exchanged swaps. Picked up a traveller - now, where to continue his journey? Maybe interstate?

We had fun looking through the cemetery, & found the 2 waypoint graves easily enough, but without any data telemetry my aGPS iPhone couldn't enter the GZcoords. We looked in all the obvious hides without any luck.

An elephant never forgets it seems, as he is still pointing at the GZ.
A quick fun GZ.
TFTC.

Enjoyed the walk down to the GZ from the tower. We got some really nice photos of the surrounds.
After visiting "Gomez" yesterday, had a bit of a chuckle at the choice of GZ.
Exchanged some swaps, & SL.
TFTC Old Blokes, have enjoyed your collection in this area.

01-Jul-13
Took some geokids out for a drive this afternoon to get them out of the house and to test run my aGPS app without data connectivity.
After dropping by to visit "Wednesday" we decided to see if "Gomez" was home as well.
The geokids had fun navigating up to the rocks and were delighted with their find.
TSLS & SL.
TFTC Old Blokes, we will try to get to the rest of the "Adams Family" while we're here in VIC.
