Logs for Trinitty

18-Feb-06
You put this cache down the same weekend I was there a year ago so I never got the chance to find out about it till I got back. A year later I got back to find the cache and the new cache 'Another Victoria Park'.
A few hairy moment walking around the track with a 5 year old that just wanted to throw rocks over the edge while standing on the edge.
However we found it easily enough.
No swaps as we hadn't taken anything over.
Look forward to next years cache.
Thanks Bucko Boys

Was over in Okains Bay for our annual kayaking forum. Couldn't miss the chance to pick up this cache and 'Old Wharf Road' which you put down a year ago the same weekend I was there.
It was an easy find and a great walk in the park on a lovely evening. The bridge was fun for the 5 year old after being dissappointed at not being able to keep the treasures he had found as we had no swaps.
Thanks Bucko Boys
We look forward to next years cache over there.

Oh bother...Trinitty and Dalmore camped/kayaked there on the weekend. Wish we had known it was there!

05-Jan-05
First cache for the year. I come here often but it seemed fair to let somebody else to be FTF. It was a beautiful day for a paddle across the harbour and a tramp up the hill. Took a while to find as I didn't have any info except the coordinates but perseverance paid off in the end.
No exchange as I didn't take anything with me.
Now off to Maori Gardens to visit friends and possibly 'Tor'
if it is back!
Thanks Guys

Eureka...Trinitty was here at long long last!!!
After 4 months of trying to figure this one out, searching aimlessly while walking the dogs here and never getting any closer...I finally solved the puzzle!
Dalmore joined me for the hunt and we found it...Dogs had a ball of a time too.
I'm on to you Bears at long last!
Bring on the next challenge...
- bag
+ soap
Thanks Bears

Trinitty was here...
Today just happened to be the day I was to visit a tree here in rememberence of my mother. What amazing timing the Bears have. So while I was here I went in search of the cache. With no print out, all I had was coords and a vague recollection of what was written. Somebody from up above must of been helping as I can't find caches own my own this easy!
As ever a very clever cache!
What next Bears-Left?

Ditto what Dalmore said...what a great chase in typical Bear fashion! Pity about the cache...at least we found the log book. Was the pink balloon from the cache. I didn't think the condom wrapper was!!!
Look forward to it being returned.
Still waiting for 'Left' will it better Karewa?

$th attempt at this one...helps to put the correct coords in!
I had calculated the correct answer but hadn't checked that the coords where the same in the GPS.
Thank goodness Dalmore waas there.

Every time I pass here I think I must stop and pick up this cache. Today was the day. Found the cache easily enough but it was 1/2 full of water. Drained out the water and the plastic bags.
It was such a beautiful day even with the high winds. I haven't walked this track for a long time.
No exchange
Thanks Sallies

A beautiful day despite the high winds. Walked down from the car park after walking to loopy llama. I have sore feet but enjoyed my tramp.
I was looking at the wrong place for a while. Must have North wrong!
NT NL
Great place I haven't been to before.

A beautiful day for a cache hunt despite the very strong winds. I did set off for 'Chch port hills cabbage trees'cache, but took the wrong left and ended up at loopy llama instead. Parked the car in a safe place by the cabbage tree cache, and walked to the spot. Nice place for a stop if you are up in the hills. Now back to the other cache. A lot of walking on hills today but I enjoyed it and finding a cache or 2 is a bonus.
NT NL
Thanks for showing me somewhere I haven't been before.

Returned to Captain Thomas walkway to pick up this cache. Abeautiful day with a fantastic view of Sumner.
Found the cache easy too. Cache is very full and the lid is bursting off.

2nd cache for the day. Often bring the dogs here to do some training followed by a good run around. Found the cache lost the dog ball!
A lovely day for caching
No exchange
Thanks

Just happen to have the week off work which means time to get some caches done.
I love walking this track so thought I would give the cache a go. I usually walk up from the bottom but drove to the top instead. Left the dogs in the car as there are many lambs about and didn't want to scare them.
An exceptionaly easy find for me. Didn't need any of the mentioned tools! Just as well as I didn't have any on me.
No exchange
Thanks for another great cache hunt Sallies and Bears

3rd cache for the day.
What T intersection? Oh that one! Yes I took the wrong road, but it was a nice walk anyway. People around so had to wait for them to leave before the search began. Couldn't find it (in the wrong place) but did find footprints...follow the foot prints. Getting closer and found it. A nice place that I have never been to before.
No exchange
Thanks
Trinitty

Was in the area today so stopped to have a look. Had the coords written on another cache page. Got sent across the road several times. Finally found it due to it being partly uncovered. Covered it up as best and natural as I could.
Wish I hadn't read the cords for 'Fore' that wasn't fun!
Dog had fun.

Finally found this cache...started this in August. Fell into that Bear Trap... went back a few weeks later and found another Trap to fall into! So finally tonight I got everything right. Dogs have loved the walks around the whole park though!
Thanks for lighting the way too!
Stamped with 'Hope' and 'Endurance' as it seems to be what I need.
swaped keyring for karabiner
Thanks

Saw this cache and put the coordinates in for a later date but as I was in the area , going to run the dogs at the Quarry and prehaps look for Aloha Sonny again, I stopped by. First to find and all.
No exchange made as I didn't expect to find it.
Thanks Moneydork for putting down a cache where a caching challenged person can find it first time and in 2 seconds flat.

C.D exercise...prehaps Rediguana is really a R.A.T in disguise!?
Trinitty

Thought this cache looked very interesting so had to go for a look (after picking up another local cache)...unfortunatly I got stuck at a 'timewarp' and this allowed Rediguana to beat me to the cache!
Managed to 'Cap' off the first waypoint but the cache took a while as darkness had set in and the torch was fading fast.
How do you come up with these ingenious ideas Bears?

I thought this cache sounded like a nice way to spend the afternoon so off I went. Parked at the Bridle Path and tramped through the mud in search of the cache. Walked passed in favour of picking up 'Rockery' first. My clean white dog soon became a dirty black dog but he was having fun so onward we went. It is quite a hike when it is muddy and has landslips with ankle deep mud to walk through! Still onwards we went. Picked up 'Rockery' and then came back for this cache. well batteries went flat just as I was nearing the point. No problem I can see the rock I am looking for! Wasn't sure which I was to look between but did manage to find the cache.
Had a great afternoon and have found a new place to walk the dog.
No swaps
Thanks
Trinitty

Decided that as I was in the area to do 'Morgans walk' I would also do 'Rockery', so setting off from the bridle path car park, I walked past 'Morgans walk' and off to 'Rockery'. Through ankle deep mud the dog and I walked. My clean white dog soon became a dirty black dog, but he was enjoying himself so we continued on. A big mountain of dirt had slid onto the track and we manourvered around that and continued. Passed several people all warning me of the mud to come but that didn't deter us. Finally we reached our destination and we even found the cache without to much trouble. Now back to pick up 'Morgans walk'!
No swaps and I didn't know what the time was but I did fill in the last page of the book.
Thanks heaps for showing me a great place to walk the dog.

10-Aug-04
Finally got this one! I missed 'Go for the Groynes' as I was to be shifting but ended up with the flu. Had a day off work today and decided to use it to do some caching. Bears_Left you never cease to amaze me on how clever/inventive you can be!!! I had no trouble finding the cache but then I did have Agent 3 1/2 Maxwell Not so Smart with me.
Thoroughly enjoy doing your caches!
No swaps, left them in the car and as usual I parked as far away as you could possibly get!
Trinitty

Trinitty has located Tracy Island...however suspecting the 'Hood' was watching, cleverly disguised as a road worker, Trinitty thought it better not to attempt a rendezvous!

Second find for the day...I'm on a roll. It's so great to have the GPS take you straight to the cache.
No swaps as I forgot to take them with me in my haste.
Thanks
Trinitty

Finally after starting this cache months ago, I finished it today. Needed help on thunderbird 3 as after 5 visits I still didn't get it. I have been sitting in the final location for a while now but haven't had time to go and pick up the cache. Yesterday I set forth to finally log the cache...however after the light rain turned to heavy rain and the heavy rain turnrd to hail I retreated back to the car soaking wet with 2 very wet muddy dogs. Just as well as I had started in the wrong place (as I always do) and probably wouldn't have got there. May it was the thunderbirds raining on my parade...for a reason!
However today was the day and once again parking a great distance from the final location I set forth. No rain today but very muddy, slippery tracks.
Success at last!!!
No swaps as I left them in the car some distance away...didn't know there was a car park close by!
Thanks a lot Bear_Left for another great adventure

Thought as I was in the area looking for another cache I would call by this one. Trampled to say the least. It made it impossible. I searched for 3/4 hour but it was hopeless without clearer instructions. I struggle to find most caches so this one was impossible. The Gps kept sending me back and forward and the ground was very wet and slippery and very well trampled and it made it impossible. So this cache can stay unfound by Trinitty!

I was in the area today finding another cache and remembered I had not picked up this cache. I didn't have the coords in the GPs so I had to hunt throught lots of paprework to find them. I did however manage to find it rather easily, which was great after not finding Governor's cache close by.
No swaps
Thanks Bear_Left

Finally found time to finish this cache. Finding the area of the cahe was easy but retreiving the cache proved interesting! You have really outdone yourself Papa Bear.
Thanks for the hunt

Ditto what Dalmore said...
Had to find it after not finding Aloha Sonny, but we wont give up!

14-Jul-04
Started this one on a saturday but it was so busy in town I went back on Monday night to finish it. Had to do most twice to get it right. Saw some places I hadn't been to before.
Tonight I could finish the beach part of the cache. However while I was calculating the final coordinates I hadn't noticed the dog chew through his lead and take himself off to the beach. So it was to be a beach walk in the dark. A nice night for a walk along the beach too.
Did question your idea of a metre until I realised I was at the wrong location! A mistake others appeared to have made by the look of it.
Did find the cache in the end and then walked back to the car along the beach.
No exchange
Thanks Rexneville

Well, went to have a look at this one tonight but it was far too dark and too windy to finish. Will finish it on the weekend but from a different start point!

I was at the library to print out a few caches and found this new one. As i was only a few k's away I decided to have a look. After a few false starts up the wrong roads I finally found where I should be. It was dark by then and I thought I should came back tomorrow but then I thought "harden up and do what the real cachers do" So in the dark with no touch I set off. An easy find even for me! And I was even the first to find it! The only way to ever beat the Sallies to a cache is to do one of their caches.
I will go back in the light of day to see this place again.
Thanks Sallies
Trinitty

Glad to hear you boys made the same mistake I did! The view from the first walk was nice but not where I should have been. I didn't wish to get lost in the bush and spark a search and rescue so I drove around to the other street.
Thought it was odd that Papa Bear hadn't been already!

13-Jun-04
Finally did this cache. It has been on my 'To Do' list for quite a while. Always drive past but never stop until today. Too many places to look in, at first, but had to stop and think like a cacher and bingo there it was.

6 Months after finding this cache I managed to pick it up. It was far too busy last time. The lid for the container is missing and the contents exposed. I have placed the container back in to hole with the bottom facing out so it will not be so obvious to non cachers. Hope that is OK!

What a great way to spend Anzac day, hunting for caches in a beautiful place like this. Went with Dalmore and spent a bit of time searching for the cache, but when we found it we were on top of the world!

Dalmore and I were in the area so he searched and I watched and didn't let on that I knew where it was. Interesting watching him make the same mistakes that I made!

I can't believe I am the first to find this cache! It might be the one and only time I am the first to find a cache so I'm elated.
No exchange as I didn't take anything but a GPS and the paper with me.
It is the most beautiful sunny day and 13 deg, but the forecast was for rain.
Kayaked over with friends, lots of people on the water but nobody on the island.
Thanks Moneydork

This is sheer brillence. I had a lot of fun doing this hunt. The ending was great! I didn't have the use of the photos but still managed to find the treasure! Did stop to catch a few 'red herrings' on the way.

Humble apoligies for not making it to the BBQ. I had unexpected visitors from the west coast. Will make the next event

Took the dogs to the park for a run around. Went in search of the treasure. While pondering which rocks to start looking under the Spaniel started sniffing around a rock. That gave the game away. So it is Elijah's find! It is a very very windy day here but still enjoyed the walk around the Quarry.

Started this one on the Friday evening while on the way home. I'm still learning to use a GPS so I thought I would just practice.
With black and white pictures printed out at the library it was hard to match up the places. Found 2 and then retreated home as it was getting dark.
Returned Saturday evening and with a bag of smelly dog poo, an excited spaniel in one hand and a GPS in the other I hunted for the other two pictures. I only found one, but decided to give triangulation a go. Don't know how to trianglate on a GPS (can it be done?) but paced out the distances and shuffled around till I got close enough and found the treasure!
can't remember if I exchanged anything
Thanks Balded for the great fun

Hi there,
I would love to attend your BBQ.
I just hope I have the date correct and can actually find your place (my GPS skills aren't too flash yet)

Thanks
Trinitty
ps sorry I put the wrong thing in...I only knew one way to log things. Thanks Papa Bear for your help.
