We are on holiday from UK visiting family in Ashburton. A lovely day out at Timaru. Just taken the grand kids swimming at the local pool. Took the opportunity to do some caching. Found this great spot with a view of Caroline Bay. Thanks to the GC owner for confirmation of the required information.

Currently visiting New Zealand from my home in England. Our daughter lives in Ashburton and treated us to a few days in Wellington. Being a bit of a train buff, I came to Silver Stream to visit the railway museum. Suddenly thought it would be a good idea to check my phone app for any caches in the area. Delighted to have ago for this one and found the location and found two little containers. However I failed to open either of them. So in the spirit of the game, I cannot claim a FIND. So a little disappointed. Anyway thanks to the cache owner.

(:-) An interesting cache. Visiting from England, we are staying with our daughter in Ashburton. Taking her dog for a walk I found it. Did not see the owners of the house, so grabbed the container and signed the log and carefully put it back. TFTC

(:-) On holiday from UK visiting family here in Ashburton. Tried to find this one last August 2018 when we were here. As previous finder said, the log sheet was rather dam and I am sorry that I did not have a spare log sheet with me. However I just managed to find a slightly dry bit to sign. My log reads "3/10/19 G/Col" G/Col short version of GreenColonel. Put everything back as I found it. TFTC

This our second visit to this cache asin January 2018 we dropped off several TBs. Again on holiday from UK visiting family here in Ashburton, I have another TB wishing to travel here in New Zealand. So it has an extra 12,000 miles from all the way from Pitlochry, Scotland. This is a great cache and big enough to be a comfortable TB hotel. Wishing this little TB a wonderful time here.
Visiting this park with our grand children. We grown-ups are on a holiday visiting our family here in Ashburton. So pleased to find this one as yesterday we had a series of DNFs in the Ashburton Domain. SL TFTC

A great finish to my New Zealand holiday visiting our daughter in Asburton and seeing our two little grandsons. This is an excellent geocache. At my age it was a slightly difficult recovery of the cache, but well worth the effort. In company with Mrs GreenColonel who is always well tuned to finding actual caches. Took the TB and will travel it to England and to continue its journey round the world. SL TFTC
Had a pleasant ride on the Weka Pass railway. Due to the hot weather and potential fire risk, the excursion was headed with a diesel locomotive. Upon arrival at this location we took the opportunity for a picnic lunch with our two little grandsons who are Kiwis and we are visitors from England. Easy find even though there were a couple of muggles sitting on the nearby bench. The main log book was seriously damp but previous cache finders had kindly put in a substitute log in a sealed plastic bag. SL TN TFTC

In company with young grandson in search of this cache. Easily found and youngster usefully extracted the container from its hiding place. SL TFTC
Having found this in November 2016 a previous visit from UK visiting family here in Asnburton, Thought it would be geat to visit this cache again and release two TBs brought from UK giving them some healthy mileage. The cache is in good order and well hidden from muggles. This was an opportunity to introduce our young grandson to the joys of geocaching. SL TFTC

Visiting from England and staying in Ashburton. We have been before to see the Plains Railway and then took the opportunity to do some caches. The ones we tried on site some time ago, seem to have been removed so really pleased to find this one. We had already spent the day travelling several times on the diesel train. This was a nice find. Lots of swag, so let our two grandsons select an item each and good ole me (Grampy) put a couple of new items into the swag and also released 9 x TBs. Basically the TBs are a group of friends - Ferrets - with a mission to get ack to England but will be pleased to travel anywhere. If you get the opportunity to read up the Mission and Description of the "Ferrets", you will get to see what we as friends are all about. It will be great if geocachers take one or more at a time. We did this mass exercise before in October 2013 when 8 TBs with a similar generic name were released in Poland, Europe. Anyway, many thanks to the cach owner for setting this one up. SL TFTC

Having visited Disney, Orlando in 2013, this is a return visit in order to get a "meeting" with Mickey Mouse and introduce him to the TB "Minnie Mouse". We had a fabulous time visiting our family in South Carolina and then to Orlando staying several days in the Wilderness Lodge hotel.

Stopped for a spot of lunch at Lake House then went searching. A great cache. Virtually no-one aound so able to sign the log. We are here in Ashburton visiting our daughter and our two little grandsons and at this time the youngsters are in child care and pre-school for the older one. TFTC
A lovely day walking the Lake Hood trail. Great area for geocaching. Found a TB tag which had not been logged in here. Last record was in May 2016 for a cache north of Christchurch NZ. Now tking the tag to England to contnue itrs travels. TFTC Signed the log
A lovely walk along the Lake Hood trail. We are visiting our daughter and two little grandsons in Ashburton. Like others before us, we searched through brambles and then decided to look the other side without brambles and found the cache. Signed the log. TFTC

Just had to do this one as it was a short distance from our daughter's home that we are visiting from England. In company with daughter and grandson Riley, a lovely location and a great find. Signed the log and left a little swag - a one cent coin for the East Caribbean. Also left a TB hopefully to be moved on further in NZ. Owner of the TB hopes it will do a 5 year travel and return to its homeland during next year 2017. TFTC.

Found this cache in 2013 whilst visiting family near Methven. As we are due to travel back to UK, needed to use this friendly cache to drop off 2 x TBs. Hope they get to do some more travelling both in New Zealand and anywhere else in the world. One of the TBs has already travelled from UK to the Island of Montserrat in the West Indies, back to UK and now to NZ. The other TB started life in Alaska, then found its way to Montserrat and now to NZ via the UK. As we had found this cache in 2013, have not signed the log on this occasion.

We had just completed a day visit to Stewarts Island. We had parked our car in the Ferry terminal car park knowing that the car park shuts at 7.30 p.m. The ferry arrived early, so we went to find this cache which was nearby. We got back to the car park at about 7.05 p.m. to discover it was all locked up and we had to get back to our hotel in Invercargill. Fortunately a ferry man phoned up the person who could unlock the car compound. We were very lucky as I had visions of us being stuck overnight in Bluff. However, alls well that ends well. We have had a great time caching. So to the CO, thanks for placing this one. Great clue. SL TFTC.
Second find of the day visit to Stewart Island. On a tight schedule due to the fact that we have booked a boat trip around the harbour area plus a little bus tour later in the day. Mrs Greencolonel struggled a bit going up the hill, but we got there in the end. What a magnificent view and worth the climb. SL TFTC
We had a great day on Stewart Island. The weather was much better than expected. We had a bit of a rough crossing by boat from Bluff. A great cache and big enough for me to leave a TB. I think this cache may be the most southerly that I have visited. We are visiting our daughter and our grandson in Methven but taking a few days out to explore more of New Zealand. SL TFTC
Our third for the day - a bit of a rush as we had just finished a boat trip around the harbour and about to join a bus trip around OBAN. Great clue and a great view. And a great cache. SL TFTC

Our first visit to this magical place made all the better for us "oldies" as we were in company with our son, his wife and our lovely little princess grand daughter. Some time in the future we may be given "permission" to bring our grand daughter for another visit. We had a great time, all the way from England

My second attempt having tried to find it on 18th January whilst attending the World Buskers Festival. Came back early today and found it with the help of Mrs GreenColonel. The cache page indicated that there should be three trackables - Lemonhead Logger (dropped in 18/1/13); Signal FTF Micro Geocoin (supposed to have left on 9/2/11 to travel to USA ???) and Kenny Koala (dropped in 31/3/12). On reading through the paper log in this excellent cache, I noted that another cacher had signed in on 19th January and removed a trackable. I guess that cacher has yet to find a computer to update what they did. I am returning to the UK a happy person having done a few caches in NZ but just a little sad that I have not found any trackable to move on. I have left a TB - AVGraphic i-cache and hope he gets to travel some more around New Zealand. TFTC

An excellent view of the Bay. Found the cache and as it was big enough, I have dropped off the Smurf TB. Hope some cacher finds this soon and moves him on. TFTC
It was raining quite hard and I suppose I did not spend the required amount of search tie for this one. I found the location and did the best search I could on my own as my helpers stayed in the dry in the car. I am sure it is an excellent location for a cache. Perhaps another day?
It was raining when we arrived at this location. Spent a bit of time searching without finding the cache. Will have to try another time.
Set off in the driving rain. Our friends decided to stay in the car whilst I went to find the cache. This was well hidden. Large enough cache for me to leave my 9/11 Remember TB. Hope someone finds this and moves it on around New Zealand. Perhaps it can be photographed at a relevant location. TFTC.
This was our first find in Motueka whilst visiting friends who live here. They had never been on a cache hunt so were delighted to see how it is done. We were really impressed with the ingenuity of this one. TFTC.
A lovely spot. Our friends who live nearby had never visited this part. TFTC

On a day visit to Dunedin. Arrived at the location as per GPS but unable to find this one. Never mind!
Spent a bit of time looking for this one, to no avail. Never mind, we enjoyed looking!

a great cache for the children. Surprised to find civil engineering machinery available for children to climb over. Dropped off my New Zealand geocoin and hope it can be moved around New Zealand and to be photographed at any relevant place.

Whilst visiting our daughter and our new grand son we took a littl hike around Methven. This was our firs find in New Zealand and impressed our daughter. Left a trackable - Froggy - and hope that he gets to travel around NZ
