Travelling back from Sydney and in need of a leg stretch, this was a nice spot to pull over for some fresh air.

Was great to meet some new faces, and see some familiar ones as well! Thanks to all for attending, and thanks to the organizers for a nice night.

I'm heading south with wombatatcrows, and at stage we hope to make it to the event.

Some time ago I visited the clues to this one with Mrs Murf. This area has a special significance for us, as we were married in the tree chapel. I finally had a day free in Wagga with some time to look for some caches while Mrs Murf and Little Miss Murf were at a meeting, so I headed to the gardens and checked the map to see what kind of a walk I was in for.
A beautiful day for a walk, some runners past me along the way, but noone was around for when I left the beaten track and sat quietly with this cache.
Thanks for the excuse to return to a beautiful part of Wagga, and for some exercise!
Cheers,
Murf.

On my way back from Trundle and stopped to have a quick look, but no luck for me this time.

*FTF* Sorry for the previous cryptic log... I hadn't been caching for a while, and my phone app had changed significantly, which meant it uploaded a log that I wasn't expecting...
I was making quick trip to Wagga, so I detoured a little to try a few of the new caches in the area... I found the entry point easily enough, and drove to a nice parking place. A short walk later revealed the GZ, and a bit of a search found it in a likely spot. A nice hide. There was already a comment in the log book, but I couldn't quite understand what it was saying... There's been no other logs, I'm assuming I was FTF...
Thanks for the detour!
Cheers,
Murf.

Damn phone app uploaded a blank log, sorry about that! Another stop on a quick trip to Wagga... running short of time, and there were too many places to look, although I probably missed something obvious! Had to get going, so left this for another day.
Cheers,
Murf.

Would love to have made it, but unfortunately my daughter's Baptism will take precedence... Hope its a good day out for everyone!

Found myself in Albury for the afternoon and walking between retail outlets, so fired up the phone just in case, and sure enough, this was right on my path. Quick grab with not many people around in the afternoon.

Little Miss Murf isn't very old, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to make the trip to Wagga for this one. As it happened, the stars aligned and another reason to visit Wagga came up, so I headed off while Mrs Murf and Miss Murf stayed home.
The weather wasn't too conducive to much caching prior to the event, but I grabbed a couple of quickies before heading to meet cachers new and old.
I'm glad I made it over, as it was a great night and a good chance to meet some new faces, while catching up with some more familiar ones.
Thanks to the organisers, and I'll hopefully get to make it to more in the future.
Cheers,
Murf

I was on the way back in to Wagga for the evening event after being out on a reconnoiter for a much harder cache, and this was a great spot to pull in.
As per previous finders, my GPS had me at an "obvious" looking place for a nano, but a quick look and a read of past logs had me looking a little further afield. Back and forth a few times before I spotted something that gave me an idea... A couple of spots matched and I had the right one soon enough.
Thanks for the twist on a nano. As mentioned in the last log, a small repair is needed.

Sorry for the late RSVP, have been trying to see how things would pan out... The final verdict is Murf attending solo, unfortunately Mrs Murf and Little Miss Murf won't be making the trip to Wagga.
Looking forward to catching up!

Just had a phonecall to tell me that this has washed up on someones farm after the recent floods... Offline until I can pick it up and replace it.

Was visiting Canberra and grabbed a few caches with wombatatcrows.
This was our first find, and after some initial trepidation about how long this could take, I was lucky to make a reasonably quick find...

I'd solved this puzzle before the trip, and it was rather pertinent as I'd learnt some of the knowledge needed some time ago at a nearby institution, which also happened to be where we headed for the next cache. A nifty hide, although it had been replaced a little off kilter previously and took some encouragement to reveal...

Wandered here from a nearby cache, and spotted fairly quickly. It was good to see an area of Canberra that I'd walked past many times in the past but never stopped in to visit.

A few years back, I spent a few years in this area, and GZ turned out to be a central place to my time here. When I spotted this cache first come up (quite some time ago, admittedly), it went straight on to the "to-do" list, so it became a perfect excuse for a bit of variety in our little cache outing...
It was great to get to wander through some old haunts, and see what had changed over time. The novel "hide" was also a cool twist. All in all, a memorable caching experience.
Thanks for the excuse to revisit some memories!

Wombat mentioned that he'd tried the previous incarnation of this cache without success, so a "two pairs of eyes" approach it was... Having seen similar hides, this wasn't quite as hard as expected, but a pleasant walk none the less, before needing to bid Wombat farewell.

*FTF* @ 1705
On our way back from Christmas in Melbourne, we decided on a break in Albury. While completing the requisite retail therapy with Mrs Murf, an email came through, advising of a new cache. I nearly dismissed it as another new Wagga cache, but decided to have a look just in case. It turned out that it was placed in a (relatively) convenient location for a detour on our Albury->Leeton home trip.
The temptation of an FTF for my last cache of the year was too much, so I advised Mrs Murf there would be a slight detour on the trip home. Most of the roads were pretty good, so it made for a nice scenic drive and a change for what can be a boring trip.
Upon arrival I decided not to bother firing up the Garmin, and just went with the iPhone, which turned out to be more than sufficient. A nifty B&MG hide revealed itself, and with a blank logbook to boot!
Thanks for the diversion!

Finally got back to this one after reading previous logs and corrected coordinates, and I'm not sure how I missed it originally... I think the coords being off had me checking too many of the "non-obvious" places...
Anyway, this was GC cache #400 for me... I usually include GCA etc, but a still a milestone.
Cheers,
Murf.

This one has been on my radar for a while, but I hadn't managed to get a chance to go for a drive out this way. A quiet Sunday presented itself, so I decided to knock off a couple of my "inside 100kms" caches.
This was originally going to be the first cache of the day, but as I turned off, there was a railway worker who had parked for a break facing directly at Gz... I drove a little down the road and came back, but he looked like he was staying a while. So I decided to press on to Ariah Park, and on the way home, he was gone and there was no one around to disturb my search.
After a pretty quick find and sign it was back to home, but this was a nice diversion down a road I don't usually need to travel.
TNLN, Thanks B&Mg!
Cheers,
Murf.

I was heading into town after finding a nearby cache, when I spotted a ute parked in an unusual spot and someone wandering around... I drove past thinking "that's odd", then thought some more and checked my GPS... Of course! That would explain it! I turned around and parked behind the ute before it got away, and managed to surprise team Segdoh, who were new to the game but looked like they were getting right into it. Always great to meet other cachers in the field, perhaps we'll meet again at an event somewhere.
After a quick introduction and chat, I wandered over and found it myself.

Murf.

Was doing a couple of quick caches around Wagga, and while on the phone to a local, he commented that there was a few nifty new hides by a new cacher. I remembered seeing the email come through about this cache, but it didn't make it into my list. After looking it up and plugging it in, I went for a drive.
As I pulled up, my heart sank as there could have been a number of places to look. I thought some more, looked some more, and then got the name of the cache... "Noooo.... He didn't... Did he?"... Sure enough. He did!
An impressive hide,

I couldn't park as close as I expected, but it was only a very short walk while pretending to be interested in the equipment. After trying a few options around GZ, I spotted a hide I haven't seen in a while, and this one was very well executed.
Thanks for another neat hide,

Stopped to check on cache conditions and trackables. Updating the location of a coin and a TB that are in the cache.
After doing the other Taylored caches in town, I stopped here on the way out. After one look and being chased off by muggles, I went and DNF'ed another cache. I came back and re-checked, and found another neat hide that I missed the first time round. Turns out it's still tricky, even when you have seen it before!

I must have had my eye's painted on... Should've found this last time, but did the "looked there" routine when I hadn't looked hard enough first time.
Came back for another look for this one... I'm bet I'm gonna spew when I finally find it! It doesn't help that every time I look here it seems to be on dusk, which is right when all the Mtb'ers decide to come back... Maybe next time.

Stopped again on my way back, and called a previous finder who said it was fairly easy... From the description he gave, I don't think it is where it is meant to be.

Was headed south to Melbourne, and decided to stop for a leg stretch in Rand. After checking out the history, I started looking in more detail... Then looked some more. I was nearly ready to hit the road again, before I spotted something that gave me an idea... After another look... you little bugger!
Thanks for breaking the trip,

Headed south to Melbourne, and just before I got on the freeway this popped up. A very short detour to a rest area I wasn't aware of, which turned out to be a convenient thing.
A few spots to check, but had my hand on it soon enough.

My apologies to Bingley and Steeba for not logging this earlier... I stopped here on my way south to Melbourne and saw the empty obvious spots before moving on.
On my way south to Melbourne, so I didn't have much time to spend stopped wandering around in the undergrowth. The other logs suggest it's still there, so I'll stop again another time.

On our way through Deni as it was getting dark. Grabbed the numbers but couldn't find one answer. Had a look at the figures and decided I didn't really need that one, as everything added up and pointed at a likely location. When I got to (presumably) GZ it was fairly dark, so out with the torch for a bit. Unfortunately there was no trace of a cache that I could see, so next time I'm down Deni way I'll have to check my numbers and have another look.
Staying nearby with Mrs Murf and went to check this park for a Gnome... No luck with the Gnome, but managed to find this one pretty quickly while it was quiet.

This cache falls into my 100km radius from home, so this trip to Wagga I took the scenic route along the river, which turned out to be a very nice drive. Stopped here on the way into Wagga for a nice easy find in a beautiful quiet spot.
Thanks for the detour!

I hate searching these areas alone... Even without looking suspicious, it still looks suspicious to have a lone man wandering around in such an area. It's sad that it does, but in this day and age, it does
Luckily it was very quiet for a while, so I could have a good look around, however I couldn't find anything before some kids showed up. There has been some "woodwork" in the area, so that was the one spot that I couldn't really search properly, and maybe it's been lost/buried in there...

Maybe I didn't dig enough, or couldn't reach, or didn't look hard enough... I dunno... anwyay, DNF, I'll be back another day...
Foiled again by Fred... There were too many muggles to look properly last time I came past here. But it was quieter today. There have also been major earthworks in the area, and driving to GZ was a lot more pleasant this time round. Either it's another sneaky hide that I didn't think of (most likely)... or it's been disturbed with the extra traffic around.
I was taking a different road into Wagga today, and this was my second cache on the way in.
Thanks for the terrific views, would be great at night,
