I needed to find a mystery cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N).So after work I opened up [Cachly](https://www.cachly.com/) to see which solved yet unfound mystery caches I still had available (*let's just say I am not much of a puzzler and it is a very short list!* ) when I spotted this one. This was one puzzle I had actually only solved recently. A few weeks ago I ended up doing a lot of googling one night to come up with all of the possible public ways and then last week on a free day after work I ended up doing all of the driving around to obtain the coordinates to GZ. I however wasn't too confident on the answers I obtained on a few of them and there was definitely a bit of trial and error before I eventually was able to get the checker to give me the big thumbs up.So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the nearest parking location. Luckily, I was able to easily find a spot to park before continuing on to GZ by foot. Once I arrived at GZ, it was then a nice quick search before the cache was found and the logbook signed. A big thanks goes to [pprass](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=bba22733-6877-4055-ae7b-338f32d4f5d2&wid=305edd05-9606-4204-bb6e-fcad8148a6b4&ds=2) for the fun puzzle. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in great shape and all of the inner contents were nice and dry. The logbook was also clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I needed to find a multi cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=6a725450-9b6f-4892-abca-126a7026759c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - 95% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z59M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59M) and so after work I was having a perusal of [Cachly](https://www.cachly.com/) to see what possible multi caches I could target today when I spotted this relatively new one. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the nearest parking location. Luckily, I was able to find a nice safe spot to park on the street before continuing on to the posted coordinates by foot. At the posted coordinates I was able to easily find the large sign and got to work obtaining the information I needed to work out the coordinates for GZ. With a reasonable set of numbers I then took rest on the nearby bench in order to work out the coordinates for GZ. So I sat enjoying the surprisingly sunny warm weather after such a wet rainy morning and worked out the coordinates for GZ. Once I worked out a set of coordinates that aligned with the Checksums, I was off.I relatively enjoyed my walk today and enjoyed exploring a new section of the Dandenong Creek Trail that I had not yet explored before.Once I arrived at GZ it was then a nice quick search before the well sized cache was found. *I may not be a part of the DGS, but there is nothing better than finding this type of cache container!*I have been really loving these short easy little multi caches. I think so many COs are nervous about hiding multis caches due to the additional maintenance. However, this is a perfect example of a multi that really wouldn't be much more work than a normal traditional. With a virtual Stage 1, it is essentially the same amount of work to maintain. It's multis like this that I think also encourage cachers to find more multi caches. Fun simple little caches that highlight a neat location or an interesting bit of history. I just love these multis and I hope the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=1a9548fb-a968-4449-9b4d-3b09ecf40de1&ds=2) and other COs will continue to hide more and more multis like this one.So a big thanks goes to [ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=1a9548fb-a968-4449-9b4d-3b09ecf40de1&ds=2) for all the fun today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in great shape. The attachment mechanism still seemed strong. All of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I ended up starting this multi cache a few weeks ago as I knew that due to the required length of travel that this one would probably be best done over a few trips. My first trip was actually quite successful and I was able to breeze through Waypoint 1 and Waypoint 2. However, I ended up running out of time and had to come back on a second trip.So on my next trip, having done the initial leg work, I was able to head straight to Waypoint 3. However, I really struggled with finding the Vic Roads serial number. I spent all of my time looking for this number and had to eventually call in for a PAF in order to get a hint on where to look.Well fast forward to today. I needed to find a multi cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=6a725450-9b6f-4892-abca-126a7026759c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - 95% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z59M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59M) and with having solved the coordinates for GZ on my last trip, I was able to immediately head straight to GZ after work.Which was lucky for me, as the weather was less than stellar today. With it starting to rain, I was really glad that I could just head straight to GZ. However, even with being able to head straight to GZ, this one still took me a while to find. With all the rain, I think it messed with my phone's reception as it was bouncing all around today. I had to check a few different beacons, and even the same beacon a few times before the well concealed cache was finally found.A big thanks goes to [Franklj](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=653de2ee-cb05-4043-943b-de48ef064daa&wid=d91815aa-38c6-48d0-a13a-c922a5a612c7&ds=2) for all the fun today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in ok shape, but it does look like some of the camo has peeled off and so in parts you can seen the original colour of the cacher container. The logbook also has seen much better days, as part of the logbook disintegrated as I took it out of the container. I was still able to sign part of the page, but I believe this one could benefit from a maintenance check.

I do not do well with the Australian Summer heat, especially when the temperature jumps from 20C to 34C from one day to the next. So with the sudden heat wave we were experiencing, I knew I wasn't going to be able to be outside for very long. However, I finally got off work on time and so it felt like it would be a waste to not get out and find at least a cache or two. Well I have currently been attempting to find more **"Other"** size caches, in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD).So in order to try and minimise my exposure to the heat, I decided to try and target some **"Other"** size caches, that were low difficulties and only short distances away from where I could park the geomobile. That is when I spotted this one and it looked like the perfect target for today. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to GZ. I was able to find a spot to park the geomobile, right near GZ before I hopped out my A/C and got to work attempting to find the cache. Well my phone did not want to cooperate with me today, and sent me looking at various beacons a few meters away. However, eventually I just put down the phone and let my geosenses kick in, and once I finally trusted them, the cache was quickly found a short time afterwards. So I quickly signed the log and then retreated back to the comfort of the geomobile and the A/C.A big thanks goes to [crank1](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=9eac9007-7d9a-4dd1-89f0-db377835c426&wid=4a13e175-f729-488b-9c55-ce37af7c3885&ds=2) for the fun hide today. I will have to come back for the rest of the trail when it is a bit cooler. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**It was a bit hard to tell, but the paint or the colouring on the cache container appears to have cracked off making it a bit more obvious to see. The attachment mechanism, however still seemed strong. The logbook was also dry today, but does appear as it may have gotten wet in the past as a lot of names appear to have been faded or washed off, making it a bit tough to tell if I was accidentally resigning over a previous finders name.

I recently found out that my company offers a "Wellness Day" program, which essentially gives each employee an extra annual leave day to specifically take a day off for a mental health break. Well I also found out that if I didn't take mine by the end of November, that I would forfeit it. So I desperately started planning when I could take my mental health day and with the snuggle muggle attending a conference until late tonight, today seemed to be the perfect day to do so.So with an entire free day and night I figured I should take full advantage of it and attempt to find some caches that were a bit further out of my normal caching radius. Well this year I have been actively attempting to fill in some missing months for my AUSMER and with an entire day free I figured [the Nomad's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=16d052bc-8e90-4546-b4fa-1006c6b1f8ef&wid=b2c69374-8806-4c87-b2d5-037ea9dae103&ds=2) [The Billy Goat's Gruff (GC47B)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC47B) would be the perfect target for the day as it is the only active cache in Victoria that was hidden in March 2001, a month I still needed for my AUSMER.So after finding that cache I then slowly stated my journey back to Melbourne via the A1/M1 and figured I would break up the drive back by finding any Virtuals or Earthcaches along the way that were only slight detours. So when I saw that I was going to be passing by this Virtual on my way back to the A1, I knew I had to stop and find it. I always love a good Virtual as I feel like they usually take me to interesting places or highlight interesting things, this Virtual included.I found it quite fascinating reading up on some of the history of the area and I had no idea that Sale was originally called Flooding Creek, an interesting bit of trivia indeed. So a big thanks goes to [Scrappy_1](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=72834a44-31b3-4ce2-9793-95f6f9c3c659&wid=14ac670d-3fb4-4d0d-91e5-586dde5793bf&ds=2) for highlighting this interesting location for me to explore today. I always love a good Earthcache as they usually take me to beautiful locations and teach me interesting facts, this Earthcache included.I had never actually heard of a *"horst"* before or a *"graben"* for that matter and so I found it exciting reading up about some new geological features that I wasn't familiar with. This was a relatively lovely little spot, at least a few others though so as there was a number of campers setting up their tents as I arrived. Once I arrived I leisurely stretched the legs and made my way to the various Waypoints, taken notes of what I was seeing. With the weather being absolutely stunning today, nice and warm with plenty of sunshine, this was a great Earthcache to stop at. After learning a little bit about Kaolin, I then grabbed a few photos and shot my answers off to the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=4c35ffd9-cbf9-4dbe-94cc-36f6cee19efa&wid=771fb4b5-04a1-45ed-839a-8a7c2bcdb7fb&ds=2) before continuing my journey on back to Melbourne.A big thanks goes to [TeamThommo](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=4c35ffd9-cbf9-4dbe-94cc-36f6cee19efa&wid=771fb4b5-04a1-45ed-839a-8a7c2bcdb7fb&ds=2) for another fun and interesting Earthcache. Besides as someone who had to rely on public transport for the first few years of me living in Melbourne, I couldn't resist stopping for a **SideTracked** cache. A very neat little location. I enjoyed checking out the steam engine and reading up a bit about it's history before grabbing my photo and continuing my journey back to Melbourne. So a big thanks goes to [Rebel Acts](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=99da3f01-8394-4d1a-8356-2abd4f716041&wid=53650a9f-4ece-41d8-a6de-4f62efbb1cb4&ds=2) for highlighting this neat little location for me to stop at today. Well my morning adventures had me first making a stop at [tonymid's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=0121b579-13ef-4f76-b6c8-f06120bf75f5&wid=7f20cee6-7ec2-4080-b33a-45fb7928decb&ds=2) [Victorian High Country (GC372)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC372?luid=6c56a906-feb2-414e-ba57-e964dca42b80), in order to pick up another oldie cache, that one hidden in February 2001. So after making a quick find there it was back in the geomobile to make another long drive over to this one.The weather was absolutely perfect today. Nice and sunny, without a cloud in the sky and so it made for a beautiful drive. Well that is until I turned on to Billy Goat Bend Road and the bitumen road turned to dirt and rocks. Parts of the road was really quite rough, and although I could have probably done the entire drive in 2WD, I did indeed engage 4WD on a couple of the steeper parts of the trail. However, I just went slow and tried my best to avoid the larger rocks and branches that littered my path. Until I eventually made it to the Billy Goat Bend camp site.Once there I parked the geomobile and continued on to GZ by foot. It was a bit of a rough walk, albeit short, as the vegetation in the are was quite overgrown. However, it wasn't too long before I eventually was able to find this historic cache. With this find another month completed and one more step closer to completing my AUSMER!It is always fun to find a cache, but it is truely an amazing feeling to be able to find a cache that was hidden 20+ years ago. It is almost like taking a step back in time and seeing what the game was like in the early days. That reason alone would earn this cache a favourite point. Unfortunately I am on a significant backlog of owed favourite points, but as soon as I earn another one, I will be sure to come back and give this cache a well deserved favourite point. So a huge thanks goes to [the Nomads](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=16d052bc-8e90-4546-b4fa-1006c6b1f8ef&wid=b2c69374-8806-4c87-b2d5-037ea9dae103&ds=2) for keeping this cache alive for all these years for me to find today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in ok shape, but the lid has a crack in it, leaving it exposed to the elements. Luckily the inner cache container was in good shape and all of it's inner contents were nice and dry. The logbook was also clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.*P.S. I ended up leaving my FTF pathtag in the container for the [COs](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=16d052bc-8e90-4546-b4fa-1006c6b1f8ef&wid=b2c69374-8806-4c87-b2d5-037ea9dae103&ds=2) or next finder to have and I know that this cache was first found almost ten years before I even started caching and so it makes no sense for me to leave an FTF pathtag. However, it was the only pathtag I had on me and I felt it would be a disservice to not leave something in this amazingly historic cache.*

So I decided to get up extra early and hit the road. Well my initial drive on the M1 was fairly easy and actually the drive went fairly smooth up to Heyfield. However, after that I was starting to get a bit tired and the roads got more and more winding. Of course, it only got worse once I turned off near Licola and the road went from bitumen to dirt and rocks. However, the geomobile didn't have much trouble, as the truck had fairly good clearance. I never even had to engage 4WD, but the road got more and more rough, especially once I turned on Howitt Road. The last few kilometers were probably the worse. Not only was I getting pretty tired from the drive, but the road conditions made me drive extra slow. However, I wasn't too stressed as I didn't see a single other car on the road the entire drive and the weather was absolutely perfect today. Nice and sunny, without a cloud in the sky. It really allowed the hills to sing and the views to be breath taking. I really didn't see a single other person my entire drive up, well that was until I arrived at the hut, because as soon as I arrived, eight other trucks came out of no where. I was completely shocked at where they came from. Of course, while they got busy with setting up there campsites, I snuck away and got busy looking for the cache. Luckily for me, it was a very quick find once I arrived at GZ. So with this find another month completed and one more step closer to completing my AUSMER!It is always fun to find a cache, but it is truely an amazing feeling to be able to find a cache that was hidden 20+ years ago. 10 years, a decade, a true milestone for any organisation, especially a non-profit run completely by volunteers. As someone who has only gotten to experience the dedication and hard work of [Geocaching Victoria](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5381f41f-c082-4a07-a4e5-9610ef6949fe&wid=93bfaace-c227-4d90-8bb4-68a8933599d1&ds=2) for the last few years, I feel truely blessed by how much they have change my life for the better. Over the past few years I have only been able to catch glimpses of all the background work that is done, witnessing only a tiny iota of the work that goes into running countless events, like tonight's. So I think it would be almost unfathomable to imagine the work that has occurred over the past ten years.Especially the early years, where no blueprints had been laid. So a huge thanks goes to the original founding members who were true trailblazers in the beginning all the way to those who continue to give up their time today to give us fabulous events, like tonight's.And what an event it was. It is always amazing to be able to catch up with my fellow cachers, but it was truely amazing to be able to spend the night celebrating them, not just the fabulous [Geocaching Victoria](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5381f41f-c082-4a07-a4e5-9610ef6949fe&wid=93bfaace-c227-4d90-8bb4-68a8933599d1&ds=2) committee, but also the creative and talented cache hiders we have in our community. CO's that have also put in hours of their own work and money in order to give the rest of us hours of entertainment and fun. Congratulations to all of the amazing CO's who were nominated for the awards and congratulations to all of the winners, I am glad you were able to be recognised tonight for all of your talent and hard work.A big thanks to all the kind/generous cachers who donated to the awards. It was another amazing experience.

I have been wanting to find the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2085951b-47cf-49af-aaa6-c54e1344cdd9&ds=2) [Used 2B an AR_ Cache (GCANYEV)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCANYEV_used-2b-an-ar-cache), letterbox cache for quite a while now, as it is a **letterbox** cache with the **"Not Medium hike (1 km-10 km)"** attribute, a combination I needed for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=dfceb3a0-dd55-40bc-adec-d306f562462f&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Letterbox Attribute Challenge (GC9Z59P)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59P). However, with the amount of hiking involved I knew I was going to need a fair amount of time to complete that one as I typically never have enough time after work to do so. Well I ended up working a bit of overtime throughout this week and so the boss let me off a few hours early today. So with my spare time today, I decided to finally tackle the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2085951b-47cf-49af-aaa6-c54e1344cdd9&ds=2) [Used 2B an AR_ Cache (GCANYEV)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCANYEV_used-2b-an-ar-cache), letterbox cache and this one as well.So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my to the nearest parking location. I had already performed the first projection at home and so I immediately made my way to Waypoint 2. With the weather being sunny and warm today it was the perfect weather to get out for a bit of hiking. Like the cache page warned *"If you are not a fan of off track walking, maybe this one is not for you,"* however, I am a big fan of off-track walking and so I was more than keen to get out into the bush. I ended up basically making a straight beeline to Waypoint 2. For the most part I was able to navigate my off-track bush walking fairly easily, and I only hit a rough part about half way through, but was able to navigate out of it without too much effort. Eventually, I was able to make my way to Waypoint 2, where I was quickly able to find the hanging bison and the information I needed for the next Waypoint. Then I was off on yet another beautiful hike. Luckily this time the walk was a lot of easier. Once I got to the next Waypoint, I thought I had made it to GZ, however as I arrived, I spotted the telltale sign of a cache. *mmhmm... the cache page mentioned the cache was a regular...*However what I was looking at was a small at best, well it appears the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2085951b-47cf-49af-aaa6-c54e1344cdd9&ds=2) had one last trick up his sleeve and set me on yet again, this time to the true GZ. Well the cache at GZ was much more cleverly hidden. It took a lot of circling before I accidentally *"stumbled"* across the well hidden cache, an excellent hiding spot indeed.A big thanks goes to [ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2085951b-47cf-49af-aaa6-c54e1344cdd9&ds=2) for giving me another great excuse to come out here and enjoy one of the most beautiful areas in all of Victoria. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**All of the containers at the various waypoints were in good shape and their associated attachment mechanisms still seemed strong. At GZ all of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I have been wanting to get out and find this cache for a while now, as it is a **letterbox** cache with the **"Not Medium hike (1 km-10 km)"** attribute, a combination I needed for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=dfceb3a0-dd55-40bc-adec-d306f562462f&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Letterbox Attribute Challenge (GC9Z59P)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59P). However, with the amount of hiking involved I knew I was going to need a fair amount of time to complete this one and I typically never have enough time after work to do so. Well I ended up working a bit of overtime throughout this week and so the boss let me off a few hours early today. Well I knew instantly what I wanted to do and so I immediately hopped in the geomobile once I got off work and headed straight to the [recommended parking coordinates](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=26295758-4587-428d-a992-3bfc93e002e6&RefID=2085951b-47cf-49af-aaa6-c54e1344cdd9&RefDS=1).Churchill National Park is just such an amazingly stunning area, I am always just blown away by it's beauty and with the weather being just absolutely perfect today, it made the hike just perfect. Well I had no real issues hiking up to the [Virtual stage](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=efaab228-6234-4f45-904e-9daf3cbae0b3&RefID=2085951b-47cf-49af-aaa6-c54e1344cdd9&RefDS=1), and just enjoyed taking in all of the beautiful sunshine and admiring all of the roos. My only complaint was that I haven't done enough hiking lately and gosh was I huffing and puffing by the time I got there. When I arrived I thought *Wow, this place looks familiar!* Then that's when I remembered I had actually been here before. I remember finding [Cherryslice88's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=61a78063-3ab7-4dea-92de-c67ae9b4c43e&wid=f0600583-b1ff-4d40-887f-cc3eaa0c4d59&ds=2), virtual cache, [Trig Point Lysterfield (GC8921P)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC8921P). Well that also brought back memories of the original cache, [AR_Lets take a walk from the Trig Point (GC7Q9TE)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC7Q9TE) and although I didn't have the pleasure of finding it, I do remember attempting it. However I could not for the life of me ever get any of the AR caches to work. Well I was beyond excited when I arrived to find a place where I could sit and work out the coordinates I needed for GZ, as I was completely out of breath. I was able to relatively easily come up with a set of coordinates for GZ, but for some reason, I could not work out the checksum. I eventually had to reach out to a previous finder for a PAF in order to help make sure my GZ was calculated correctly. Well it turns out my projection app was limited and I was only about a number or two off. So armed with the actual coordinates for GZ, I was off. It was another great hike, well except for the last 100m lol. I ended up loosing the side trail and ended up stuck bush bashing. It was a bit of a rough go for a bit. *Of course, I found a much easier hike out, but isn't that always the case lol*However, eventually when I got to GZ it was a nice quick search before the cache was found and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2085951b-47cf-49af-aaa6-c54e1344cdd9&ds=2) for giving me another great excuse to come out here and enjoy one of the most beautiful areas in all of Victoria. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape. All of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I have been trying to find more **"Other"** size caches, in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD) and so after work today I opened up [Cachly](https://www.cachly.com/) to see what nearby unfound **"Other"** size caches were around, when I spotted this one.Well I have been having a lot of fun lately finding caches in the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=a6a3c227-58a8-464e-a744-87f080f678a3&wid=a995f170-5139-4557-a585-c6531b0c5d56&ds=2) **Ringwood Ramble** series, so when I spotted this one I decided I had to make it the target for the day. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the [recommended parking coordinates](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=945e1dcd-a10c-4b0f-8d93-1f84be13c82f&RefID=a995f170-5139-4557-a585-c6531b0c5d56&RefDS=1). When I arrived there were a few unsavoury muggles hanging around the posted coordinates. With the cache being only a D1.5, I thought maybe I could still spot it on a walk by. However, just being in the presence of the unsavoury muggles was enough to draw their attention, and with not feeling comfortable with being too close, I decided to retreat back to my geomobile to wait them out.Well the muggles proceeding to yell, drink, and even spray paint a portion of the parking space, but luckily after about ten minutes they decided it was time to move on. However, while I was waiting for them, it did give me a bit of time to read through some of the previous logs.Well it was [spiffy-'s](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=f684a53b-20de-42b6-b93a-078093aaa6ec) [Found it Log](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1DB79MR) that mentioned he checked a bit of a higher elevation, and so once the muggles had left, I decided to do the same. Well this turned out to be exactly what I needed to do as this gave me the proper vantage point to make the find.A big thanks goes to [QueenK8](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=a6a3c227-58a8-464e-a744-87f080f678a3&wid=a995f170-5139-4557-a585-c6531b0c5d56&ds=2) for another fun cache! TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache guardian was in good shape and very cute. Both the attachment mechanism for the cache guardian and the actually cache still seemed strong. The logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

With this cache being so close to home, it has been on my list to find for quite some time now. However, when I was fairly new to the game I use to always read through previous logs, so I knew what to expect before attempted to find a cache and at the time a lot of previous logs mentioned the thick blackberry vines and thorns near GZ.Well that was enough to scare me off back then and so I never attempted to find this cache. However, I was recently looking at unfound caches in the area when I spotted this one again. Well that was also when I noticed [iTEEM's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?u=iTEEM) [Found it Log](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1CJRCA8), which mentioned that the thorns near GZ had been cleared. So I finally decided that it was time to actually attempt this one. So after work I hopped the geomobile and made my way to GZ. Well I struggle to actually find a suitable place to park the geomobile. However, eventually I found a save spot to park the geomobile on the side of the road, before I made my way over on foot.Well it turned out that [iTEEM](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?u=iTEEM) was correct, and although there was still a few bits of thorns around, they were easily avoided. Well the cache was also spotted quite easily as I managed to spot it on my approach up to GZ.A big thanks goes to [edmil](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=11dd70ef-daa7-4970-8f52-45c487f728b9&wid=dfd18d17-e1c4-4ec1-a07e-4ce46723f8e3&ds=2) for maintaining this cache for all these years. TFTC. **Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

As I mentioned in my [Found it Log](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1DBTEYK), the top row of the sign at the posted coordinates is missing and thus a cacher currently is unable to calculate the coordinates for GZ without aid.

**Happy Belated Halloween!**With Halloween being my all time favourite holiday, I absolutely adore the spooky season and as such I had been saving to find this cache for Halloween night. Unfortunately, this year I ended up catching a stomach bug the day before Halloween and was actually bed ridden for about a week or so afterwards. So I decided to save this cache for the next day I needed to find a mystery cache in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N).This is one puzzle I have had solved for a little while, but I do remember it being a bit of a struggle. I remember I was able to figure out the first half of it, but was completely lost on the second half. I didn't find the second half until the very kind [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=6364a7b8-7c3b-4a79-b5f1-caa3f1677964&wid=d4320b67-6810-4871-bd9c-bb8a8ca6f787&ds=2) pointed it out to me. However, armed with that extra hint, I was eventually able to work out the coordinates for GZ. So today was finally the day that I decided to try and find this cache. I was a bit confused as I was driving up GZ, but once I arrived I spotted the very likely beacon. It was then a quick search before the cache was in hand. I grabbed the cache and retreated back to the comforts of my geomobile in order to sign the log without drawing to much attention to myself. Unfortunately, as I was signing the log, a nearby muggle starting mowing grass right next to GZ. I was stuck, there was no way to put the cache back and so I had to just sit near GZ and wait out the lawn mowing muggle. Of course, this muggle must have been a lawn expert as it seemed to take them forever! They paid so much attention to their lawn and didn't miss a single blade of grass. So after sitting at GZ for what seemed like an eternity, *in reality it was probably just my introvertned nervousness that made me feel like it, and it was probably only around 10 minutes*, the lawn mowing muggle, finally decided to pay attention to a different part of their lawn and I was finally able to quickly replace the cache back in it's hiding spot.A big thanks goes to [heymissjo](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=6364a7b8-7c3b-4a79-b5f1-caa3f1677964&wid=d4320b67-6810-4871-bd9c-bb8a8ca6f787&ds=2) for the challenging, yet very fun Halloween themed puzzle. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape. All of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I ended up getting called in last night to work night shift, which meant I had the entire day, once I woke up, to go caching. Well fortunately or unfortunately, however you want too look at it, my biological clock was still in routine and so I ended up waking up at my usual time. This of course meant I had plenty of time to be able to get a bit further out of my normal routine caching radius. Well I have been wanting to get out caching around Mount Donna Buang for a while now, as I only need to find a cache hidden between 1251 - 1500 M of elevation, *which just so coincidently is the rough elevation of Mount Donna Buang*, in order to finally qualify for ['s](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=fdc60ecd-0f01-4bbe-8c8d-bc4200f1f8d5&wid=ca6ab4e6-d855-4c48-a529-13685455432f&ds=2) challenge cache, [Sea to Summit Challenge (GC6T2YZ)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6T2YZ).So once I finally was able to get the sleep out of my eyes, I hopped in the gemobile and made my way to the summit. Since, I did get up so early and it was only a Monday, the summit was completely empty and allowed me to explore and enjoy the space all by myself. Unfortunately, I didn't think about downloading any caches to my offline maps and once I arrived at the summit, I had no mobile service. However, I figured if there was any chance of getting any phone service it would be at the top of the tower. So I attempted to make the climb to the top, and although I did eventually make it to the top, it was a slow struggle. I have only recently recovered from a pretty nasty stomach bug that had me bed ridden for a few days, but I took it slow and eventually made it to the top.Luckily my gamble paid off, and I actually got 5G service from the top of the tower. So after taking in some of the most beautiful and breathtaking views, I quickly downloaded a few caches in the area to my offline maps. Then my luck continued as I saw that I had to climb to the top of the tower for this Virtual anyways!I always love a good Virtual as usually they take me to beautiful or interesting locations, including this one as the views were simply stunning. So i grabbed a few photos before heading back down to gather the needed information in the nearby gazebo.A big thanks goes to [ilukaperi](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=fd57b796-0b9d-43e5-b678-b13a9a203de5&ds=2) for highlighting such a beautiful location for me to explore today. So after taking in some of the most beautiful and breathtaking views, I quickly downloaded a few caches in the area, including this multi cache.Since I had already climbed to the top of the tower, I decided to finish up the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2) nearby Virtual cache, [Mt Donna Buang (GC9P84X)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9P84X?luid=5c8e6785-fd09-462d-8589-d5293097c1aa) before heading on over to this multi cache. I then got to work trying to obtain the required information I needed off the sign at the posted coordinates. However, I was initially confused and couldn't figure out how to calculate the distance to Mt Boobyalla. Of course, it wasn't until a bit further investigation that I realised that one third of the sign was missing. With the top part of the sign missing, I quickly realised there was going to be no way for me to figure out how to calculate the coordinates for GZ.Well with no phone service, I also had no way to reach out to [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2) or any previous finders for a PAF. So back up the tower I went to try and get some phone service. This time I was not as lucky. Where on my previous trip up, I was able to get 5G, this time I was barely able to get 3G. I probably ended up spending 20 minutes doing something that could probably be called an interpretive dance, at best, attempting to get enough service to reach out for a PAF. Well after making a complete fool of myself, I did indeed get a response from a previous finder and the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2), both of which who were kind enough to be able to provide me with the missing information and allow me to calculate the coordinates for GZ. Being recently ill had killed all my endurance, but getting out in a bit of nature and going for a hike was just what I needed, because although my lungs were on fire my spirits were higher than they had been for quite a while. *The healing power of nature, is always quite fascinating!*Well I ever so slowly made my way down to GZ, taking in all the beautiful views and just basking in the green space. Luckily, my offline maps worked amazingly and led me straight to GZ and once I arrived at GZ it was a nice quick search before the cache was in hand and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [ilukaperi](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=878eecfe-b3a9-4fba-896f-9311185c7b09&wid=749ebac5-571f-42c2-940d-4a47a81aa0d1&ds=2) for the help with this multi and for all the fun today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**As I mentioned above, one third of the sign at the posted coordinates is missing. Both the inner and and outer cache container was in good shape, but the o-rings are missing. This has allowed a bit of moisture to get into the cache as the logbook was just a tiny bit damp. However, it was plenty dry and I had no issues signing it. The logbook was also clean and had plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Well after finding a few caches out that direction, I then made my way back to home, but on my way back I noticed I could take only a small detour and come grab this Cachemas cache!Well the snuggle muggle and I were overseas in the USA during the Cachemas season and so I missed out on all of the Cachemas festivities. So I definitely have a bit of catching up to do, and so I couldn't miss the opportunity to attempt to find this one.So near the posted coordinates, I was able to find a safe place to park the geomobile. I then quickly made the projection for GZ and was off. The weather today was surprisingly warm and with very little shade a long the rail trail, the 750 metre or so walk was actually tougher then I imagined. I was also surprised to see how busy the rail trail was today, despite how early in the day it was, there were several muggles out exercising. Either zipping past on their bikes or out for a run, either way I had to wait at GZ a bit for the coast to be clear. Luckily, for me once the coast was clear it was a nice quick search before the cache was found and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [alfetola](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=18703b87-bde1-4d9f-86e2-1a9946d423c5&wid=f26f1712-b12e-4606-8388-53c962e1e307&ds=2) for the fun Cachemas cache. My weekends are normally reserved for spending time with the snuggle muggle and so I don't get many opportunities to get out to grab a cache on the weekend. However, tonight I ended up getting called in to work night shift and so I figured if I left for work a bit early, I could make a bit of a detour and come grab this cache. I had actually completed the associated adventure lab back on the 18th of October in order to get the new [Adventure Day Souvenir](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2024/09/save-the-date-adventure-day-is-october-19/), but on that day I didn't have enough time to be able to grab this bonus cache. So with needing to find a mystery cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N), I decided to make this one the target for the night. So on my way to work, I took a very roundabout detour to the [recommended parking coordinates](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=3c6f1bf7-f22e-4325-a0e3-e5c7766e7277&RefID=e186f55f-8b9b-42fc-a7a7-94ddf657f7c8&RefDS=1). Of course by the time I had arrived the sun had completely set and this one turned into it's own sort of night cache. Well this didn't bother me at all, because I love a good night cache. I feel it can be so therapeutic and so calming to just escape into my own thoughts and not be distracted by noises and sights during a nice night time walk.So I grabbed my head torch and enjoyed the night time walk over to GZ. The lake looked especially beautiful tonight. I tried to grab a few photos, but none of them did the view any justice. Once I arrived at GZ there was a little bit of a struggle to find the cache, however after only two slips, (*let's just say it would have been much easier in daylight lol*), the cache was eventually spotted and the logbook signed. Unfortunately, it does appear that the logbook is now completely full.Well a big thanks goes to [QueenK8](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=a6a3c227-58a8-464e-a744-87f080f678a3&wid=e186f55f-8b9b-42fc-a7a7-94ddf657f7c8&ds=2) for the original fun I had doing the ad-lab, I loved the areas of history it highlighted. As well as all the fun tonight trying to find this bonus cache. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache guardian appeared in great shape and the retractable cord mechanism worked well. The actual cache container was in great shape and both the attachment mechanisms still seemed strong. The logbook was also clean and dry, but unfortunately the logbook is now completely full. I had to sneak my name in the same space as a previous finder.

I had originally made plans with [The Rustys](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=741be9aa-1762-4a78-b9aa-a685a51e9b8a&wid=2c51c248-a766-4806-9450-5d398c5ba117&ds=2) and [Zeus, Hera & kids](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=fbf221a6-0bb7-498f-954c-78ad00da68b8) to attempt this one a few weeks after it got published, unfortunately on the night we planned, a massive storm came through and so we decided it was best to call for a rain check. My plan was then to wait for another opportunity in which I could meet up with them, however I ended up getting called in to work night shift tonight. So with no definitive plans made with [The Rustys](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=741be9aa-1762-4a78-b9aa-a685a51e9b8a&wid=2c51c248-a766-4806-9450-5d398c5ba117&ds=2) and [Zeus, Hera & kids](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=fbf221a6-0bb7-498f-954c-78ad00da68b8) and the perfect opportunity to attempt this cache after work, while it was still dark out, I decided I had to take the opportunity presented and attempt to find this cache. So after finishing up my night shift I hopped in the geomobile and my way to the posted coordinates, before continuing on to the [reflector trail](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=d91d34a3-6dc3-4682-b285-7c20d9e81fa1&RefID=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&RefDS=1) by foot. I always find the dichotomy of emotions I feel while doing night caches to be quite fascinating. On one hand the quiet silence of walking through nature at night I feel can be so therapeutic. I feel like there is something so calming and freeing when I able to just escape into my own thoughts and not be distracted by noises and sights.Of course, on the opposite end of the spectrum when I do actually hear a noise, my flight or flight response immediately kicks in. I seem to hear one crack of a branch and then my mind wonders and every strange shadow my head torch casts immediately looks like some type of monster or other ghoulie. This night cache was no different, as I made my way to the [reflector trail](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=d91d34a3-6dc3-4682-b285-7c20d9e81fa1&RefID=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&RefDS=1) I found a complete sense of inner peace and absolutely loved the walk. Of course, just as I was about at the [reflector trail](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=d91d34a3-6dc3-4682-b285-7c20d9e81fa1&RefID=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&RefDS=1) I started looking for reflectors. Of course I ended up seeing something I thought was a reflector quite quickly, and so I entered the bush to get a bit closer in order to count the reflectors when I ended up being face to face with a possum. Normally seeing a cute little possum would bring me a bit of joy, however, when it's completely unexpected in the middle of the night, it scared the living daylights out of me. I think I let out an audible scream and I ended up scaring the possum as much as it scared me.Luckily, for me the rest of the cache went quite smoothly. I was able to spot the reflectors fairly easily and although there were a couple strings of reflectors that were a little harder to count, I eventually was able to gather all the required information I needed. However, I was quite surprise to see where the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7d33975e-dd45-4386-8e04-c1988ca4e720&wid=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&ds=2) had hidden some of the reflectors. Those could not have been the easiest locations to get too. So after I finished the trail and gathered all the numbers I needed, I was able to quickly calculate the coordinates to GZ. Luckily, for me it wasn't too far. My luck continued as I ended up spotting a natural trail that basically lead me straight to GZ! As I was arriving at GZ I was able to quickly spot the cache. Of course I hadn't read the cache page fully and wasn't aware of the provided TOTT. So I stood there a bit trying to figure out how I was going to be able to scale this tree, when eventually I ended up circling behind it and found the conveniently provided TOTT.It was then a quick climb up before the cache was unlocked and the logbook signed! This was such a fun twist too the classic *follow the reflectors to GZ*, and I ended up really enjoying this version of a night cache. So a big thanks goes to [Mister Doctor](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7d33975e-dd45-4386-8e04-c1988ca4e720&wid=2610d0b4-528b-457c-863c-4842a373c113&ds=2) for such a fun night time adventure. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**All of the reflectors appear to be in great shape. The cache container was in great shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. The provided TOTT was also in good shape and appeared sturdy. All of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

*mmhmm... I thought I had already found all of the caches in the "7" series...*Well it turned out that I had found all of the caches in the *"7" series* except this one. Well the completionist in me, knew right then and there that I had to attempt to find this one today.Just like all of the other caches in this series, I initially really struggled to solve this one. I was able to solve the first step, but then got stuck on a bit of a red herring. However, the very kind and patient [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3905d31b-7479-4873-a3f8-90426f27bceb&wid=dbeb7ed0-74d0-4aa9-bc81-82fa28d77a4a&ds=2) was able to drip feed me a few clues and after way too much head scratching, the puzzle was finally solved! So today after work I hoped in the geomobile and made my way to the nearest safe place to park the geomobile. Of course, once I arrived at my parking coordinates I then remembered why I hadn't found this cache yet. I had actually attempted to find this one almost a year ago, but since I was in such a hurry I didn't actually log a DNF. Well I don't know why this one gave me such trouble last time, as once I arrived at GZ on this trip it was a very quick search before the cache was in hand and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [OzHockeyChick](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3905d31b-7479-4873-a3f8-90426f27bceb&wid=dbeb7ed0-74d0-4aa9-bc81-82fa28d77a4a&ds=2) for another amazing puzzle and for all the help with solving it. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in pretty good shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. The logbook was also clean and dry, however it is starting to get quite full. There is probably less than five more spaces before cachers will have to sign off on top of each other.

I have been attempting at trying to find more and more mystery caches lately in order to work on my puzzle solving skills. This is one of the few puzzles that I understood the initial concept of, but just couldn't work out how to convert it to coordinates. However, after a bit of trial and error I finally was able to figure out what I needed to do, but try as I might I could not get the checker to give me the green tick. So I had to reach out to a previous finder for abit of a PAF, and they checked my numbers and confirmed I only had one off. So with a bit more of a targeted check and eventually I got the checker to give me the big thumbs up.So with today being a public holiday, I figure it would be the best time to go and try and find this cache. Which it turned out to be, because once I arrived at GZ that area was completely muggle free. It was then a nice quick search before the cache was in hand and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [DJEZG](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=ff43ebb5-c210-4a72-b00d-ab117e003479&wid=a5b9c884-085e-4bab-98a3-360dc011839b&ds=2) for the fun puzzle. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

04-Nov-24
With having caught a bit of a bug I have been out of commission for the last few days and so I haven't been able to enjoy any of the long holiday weekend or the beautiful weather we have had lately. However, today I woke up almost feeling back to normal and so I decided that I would try and get out to enjoy at least a bit of sun. Well what better way to enjoy a bit of sunshine, then to find a cache or two. With needing to find a multi cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=6a725450-9b6f-4892-abca-126a7026759c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - 95% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z59M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59M), I had a look around on [Cachly](https://www.cachly.com/) for what nearby multi caches were around when I spotted this fairly newly hidden one!Since I am newly recovered, I figured a fairly easy multi cache close to home would probably be best, and so when I spotted this one, it seemed like the perfect target. So after lunch, I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the [recommended parking coordinates](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=44d8b26a-dac4-4aeb-b83b-1c8cf2cf6ef1&RefID=0c3b1271-4584-4cc1-972b-854415568652&RefDS=1).After that I continued on over to the posted coordinates on foot. With not being able to get outside the last few days, it felt amazing to just be out in the warm sunny weather. The short walk through nature in the fresh air was just what I needed today. Once I arrived at the posted coordinates, I was able to quickly find the sign and obtain the needed information to calculate the coordinates for GZ. I then took a seat nearby and work out the maths before heading off on the short walk over to GZ.Luckily, I spotted a little trail that lead me on the path of least resistance straight to GZ. Once I arrived at GZ, it turned out to be a nice quick search before the cache was in hand and the logbook solved.I have been really enjoying these short little multi caches. I think so many COs are nervous to hide multi caches and so many cachers tend to just skip over them, but I think these fun short little multis are great and hopefuly will encourage others to hide and find more of them. A big thanks goes to [ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=0c3b1271-4584-4cc1-972b-854415568652&ds=2) for this short fun multi. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The sign at the posted coordinates was in great shape and the text was very legible. The cache container at GZ was also in great shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

This one looked great and it would only be little bit of a detour to grab on my way home. I remember this was one of the puzzles that I had stared at off on over the past year or so and originally had no idea on how to get started.**I'm lost. You too?** ME TOO! I don't know how many time I stared at the puzzle thinking what?! I don't know if I eventually have gotten better at puzzles, or eventually blind staring works, but one day I finally spotted something that was enough of a hint to get me going. Then all the steps to this tricky puzzle seemed to fall into place and eventually the checker gave me the big thumbs up!So today after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the nearest parking location. With the weather being so perfect today, it was lovely to get a bit of fresh air and sunshine. I made the short walk over to GZ, where eventually my phone homed into a logical beacon. Once I arrived at GZ it was then a nice quick search before the cache was found and the logbook signed. A big thanks goes to [Hamuza](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=507916ca-ad03-4854-a62f-8098d883756f&wid=2238c25e-95ce-42fb-bd3a-6f500b95066a&ds=2) for the very tricky puzzle and for all the fun today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in ok shape, but it appears a lot of the camouflage has worn off, revealing the container's original colour. This has made for it to be more easily spotted. It also appears that a bit of moisture has gotten into the container as the logbook was a little damp. However, I had no issues with signing the logbook, and the logbook still had plenty of space for future cache finders to sign.

I needing to find a multi cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=6a725450-9b6f-4892-abca-126a7026759c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - 95% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z59M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59M) and so last night I was having a perusal of [Cachly](https://www.cachly.com/) to see what possible multi caches I could target when I spotted this one. With plans after work I knew I wouldn't have time to stop and find this multi, so this one became a very rare pre-work cache for me. So I ended up waking up extra early and made the drive down to the posted coordinates. Luckily, I got to the posted coordinates early enough and was able to get one of the last car spots near the posted coordinates. I then quickly headed over to the sculpture. I unfortunately was against the clock on this one and with not wanting to be late to work I didn't get much time to enjoy admiring the sculpture at the posted coordinates and had to gather all the information as quickly as I could. After I gathered all of the required information, I then retreated to the closest bench to work out my least favourite part of any multi, the maths.Luckily, I had drank my morning coffee on the drive down and so I was able to make quick work of calculating the coordinates for GZ. I was relieved to see that my coordinates for GZ weren't too far away. So I made a beeline straight to GZ and started my search. Luck was with me again, as it was a quick search before the cache was in hand and the logbook signed. A big thanks goes to dak's Emu Mob for originally hiding this cache and to [The Rebel Alliance](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3cdb0d30-a573-451b-9bd3-8ee4615b4b5a&wid=9abf21de-95b4-4a23-87b9-0321dfb1c313&ds=2) for maintaining it now for me to find today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The sculpture and sign at the posted coordinates were in good shape and all the text was very legible. The cache container at GZ was also in great shape. All of the inner contents were nice and dry and the logbook was also clean with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

25-Oct-24
As I am not from Beaconsfield, I will refrain from doing any complaining. Of course, how could anyone complain about getting out caching on such a beautiful day!I have been currently obsessed with finding **Sidetracked** caches lately, and so I originally came down to the Beaconsfield area to specifically find the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=52ec3800-6e31-467f-b0cb-c76ee02dee12&ds=2) [SideTracked - Beaconsfield (GC9VKJ6)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9VKJ6_sidetracked-beaconsfield) cache. However, I actually got off work early today, which meant I had a bit of time to actually find a few caches in the area today. Well besides targeting **Sidetracked** caches lately, I have also been trying to find more **"Other"** size caches, in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD).So after finding the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=52ec3800-6e31-467f-b0cb-c76ee02dee12&ds=2) [SideTracked - Beaconsfield (GC9VKJ6)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9VKJ6_sidetracked-beaconsfield) cache I then headed on over to another one of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=52ec3800-6e31-467f-b0cb-c76ee02dee12&ds=2) caches, [Beaconsfield Complains #2 (GC9FATK)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9FATK?luid=7203e9ef-a2f9-4cb3-a74b-dd7099dfe155). Well after making quick work there I then decided to head over to attempt to find this one. With the weather being perfect today, I decided to walk on over to this from [Beaconsfield Complains #2 (GC9FATK)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9FATK?luid=7203e9ef-a2f9-4cb3-a74b-dd7099dfe155) instead of attempting to drive on over. Well the walk to GZ was great and was so nice to take in some fresh air and a bit of sunshine. After finding several of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=52ec3800-6e31-467f-b0cb-c76ee02dee12&ds=2) **"Other"** size caches lately, I knew what the likely cache container was going to be and where it was likely going to be hidden. Which was good as school must have gotten out recently, as I had to wait for several young muggles to be on their way before I could retrieve the cache and sign the log. However, once the coast was clear, I was able to quickly add my name to the log. A big thanks goes to [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=52ec3800-6e31-467f-b0cb-c76ee02dee12&ds=2) for another fun cache. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. However if there was a plastic bag, the plastic bag is now missing. However, the logbook was still clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I ended up finding a place to park the geomobile near the oval on the other side of the road and then continued to GZ on foot. After finding several of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=52ec3800-6e31-467f-b0cb-c76ee02dee12&ds=2) **"Other"** size caches lately, I think I have started to figure out their hiding style as this one was spotted on my approach to GZ. Once I arrived at GZ, I was able to quickly grab the cache and retreat to a less busy area, where I was able to sign the log in peace. However the plastic bag protecting the logbook was now ripped and is not providing as much protection from the elements. There was a little bit of moisture on the log side of the cache, but luckily the logbook was still clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Well my hunt for **SideTracked** caches continued today and as this one was my last unfound **SideTracked** cache in the area, it quickly became the primary target for today. I actually got off work a bit early today, which gave me plenty of time to head down to the Beaconsfield area to pick up a few caches, but as this one was the primary target it became my first stop.So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the train station. Since I had come down on the M1 I ended up approaching GZ from the south. So with not knowing the parking situation at the train station, I actually pulled into Manna Gum park and ended up parking in the park's carpark before continuing to GZ on foot. Well the weather was absolutely stunning today and so the walk to GZ was a great way to take in some fresh air and a bit of sunshine. I quickly spotted the probable beacon on my approach to GZ, which was good as there was a bit of construction going on around the train station and there was literally a construction worker directing traffic right across the street from GZ. Luckily, I was able to spot the cache as soon as I made it to GZ and so I had to turn on my best stealth mode to retrieve the cache, sign the log, and replace it before the construction worker noticed what I was doing. Well I am not sure I was too stealthy at the end, because after I replaced the cache and turned around the construction work was staring directly at me. However, I don't think they really cared what I was doing and were just bored, so I think the cache will be safe for another day. A big thanks goes to [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=394b7ec1-3b13-4c3c-b094-d088c996c736&ds=2) for another fun **SideTracked** cache. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status**The cache container was in good shape, the attachment mechanism still seemed strong, and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

First off I just wanted to say **CONGRATULATIONS** on hiding your first cache! Hiding a new geocaching can be a bit of a process no matter how many of them you have hidden before, let alone hiding one for the first time. So congratulations on taking a big step and keeping the game going!I have currently been attempting to find more **"Other"** size caches, in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD) and since I actually got off work early today, I had a bit of time to actually find a few caches in the area. With **"Other"** size caches being the main focus for today, this one was quickly added to my list of caches to attempt to find.So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to GZ. I actually wasn't sure where the best place to park the geomobile was and so I end up parking on a nearby side street before continuing on to GZ by foot. With the weather being absolutely stunning today, it was nice to take in some fresh air and a bit of sunshine.Once I arrived at GZ, I had a rough idea at where the cache was likely hiding. However, with the traffic lights right next to GZ and muggle cars stopping near me, I did feel a bit exposed. So I waited until the lights were in my favour and the muggles were flying past too fast to pay me any attention before I attempted my search. Luckily the cache was found quite quickly and I was able sign the log and replace the cache, before anyone paid me much attention.A big thanks goes to [Kara0121](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=4c06514a-b770-4db3-9c70-c6f7c8b03e2a&wid=3aabf8a6-3ac5-425d-b142-c148a62afa29&ds=2) for hiding your first cache, for me to find today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape. The attachment mechanism still seemed strong and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I have been mildly obsessed with finding **SideTracked** caches lately, having found [Pinkpiggy7's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=da6c8eae-e38b-4c24-92e0-7bc19fa6a75d&ds=2), [SideTracked - Cranbourne (GC9VQ48)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9VQ48), [SideTracked - Merinda Park (GCA9ZHF)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA9ZHF), [REALLY SideTracked - Nobelius (GC9YEZG)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9YEZG), [SideTracked - Cardinia Road (GC9VGZB)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9VGZB), and [SideTracked - Officer (GC9VGYV)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9VGYV) caches all in the past month. However, I thought it was about time to give [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=da6c8eae-e38b-4c24-92e0-7bc19fa6a75d&ds=2) a break and so I decided to see what other **SideTracked** caches were around when I spotted this one. It also didn't hurt that this cache was an **"Other"** size cache, as I have been trying to find more **"Other"** size caches in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD).So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the train station. The weather turned out to be beautiful today and it made for an enjoyable drive. Once I arrived at the train station, I was able to easily find a spot to park the geomobile before heading across the street to GZ.With this cache being a D3.0, I knew I had my work cut out for me. Not only was GZ fairly muggle heavy today, but the camouflage on this one was amazing and blended in so well. This one definitely took me a while to hunt down. I had to sit and wait out three different muggles, who were also enjoying GZ. However, between each muggle visit I was able to make my search, narrowing down the possibilities. I was eventually able to find this one through the process of elimination. A big thanks goes to [Mister Doctor](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7d33975e-dd45-4386-8e04-c1988ca4e720&wid=ef1d8c39-cbd1-4fbb-a681-3f0ef6663435&ds=2) for this fun and challenging hide. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache camouflaged was amazing and it blended in so well. The cache container was also in great shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Well my current obsession with **SideTracked** caches continued today and so after work I opened up [Cachly](https://www.cachly.com/) to see what possible **SideTracked** caches I could look for, when I spotted this one. Well with this cache also being an **"Other"** size cache, it was the perfect target, as I have been trying to find more **"Other"** size caches in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD).So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to the train station. The weather turned out to be beautiful today and it made for an enjoyable drive. Once I arrived at the train station, I was able to easy find a spot to park the geomobile before heading across the street to GZ.Once I arrived at GZ it was then a nice quick search before the well camouflaged cache was spotted and the logbook was signed. A big thanks goes to [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=416febe4-217a-40a9-9072-e207fb57186c&ds=2) for all the fun today. TFTC. **Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. After picking up another one of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=afae961a-695d-4418-8f13-865a5c26a891&ds=2) nearby **SideTracked** caches, [SideTracked - Cardinia Road (GC9VGZB)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9VGZB?luid=0d95dd14-e02f-4402-a00c-97baa35e4b40), I decided to continue on and try and hunt down some more **SideTracked** caches and with this one being the next nearest **SideTracked** cache it became my next target. It also didn't hurt that this cache was an **"Other"** size cache, as I have been trying to find more **"Other"** size caches in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD).There seems to be a bit of construction going on around the train station, which caused me a bit of trouble as I wasn't sure how to actually get to the car park. I ended up parking on a side street and had to navigate my way through the temporary fencing of the construction zone to get to GZ.When I got near GZ I was a bit nervous that I wasn't going to be able to access the cache, as there was temporary fencing near GZ. However, I began my search anyways and was able to quickly spot the cache. Although the cache was indeed on the other side of the temporary fencing, luckily I was still able to reach it. So I quickly grabbed it, signed the log and replaced it before next train came.A big thanks goes to [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=416febe4-217a-40a9-9072-e207fb57186c&ds=2) for all the fun today. TFTC. **Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. The logbook was also clean and dry. However, the logbook now is basically completely full.

I too **DO NOT** like puzzles. I don't know what it is, but it seems like my IQ absolutely plummets as soon as I open up a mystery cache's cache page. However, I must be a glutton for punishment as I have turned my focus on trying to qualify for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N).So although I do not like puzzles, I have been actively working on trying to solve as many as I can. However, that means I have needed a lot of hints and pushes from some very kind CO's in order to help me solve a lot of them....*this one included!*I remember trying to solve this one a while back, but like so many caches I never know where to get started. I had to ask the very kind [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=741be9aa-1762-4a78-b9aa-a685a51e9b8a&wid=7a64fd41-8855-4440-8924-a1de30139841&ds=2), for a push to even get started as none of my original ideas panned out. However, once I got an initial push, I was able to make it through the second and third part of this puzzle and only needed a last second hint to finally obtain the correct coordinates for GZ. So with needing to find a mystery cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge cache, I decided to finally attempt to find this one. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way over to GZ. Luckily when I arrived I was able to find a nice place to park and had the entire area to myself. This allowed me to make a nice uniterupted search at GZ and after a short search the cache was found and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [The Rustys](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=741be9aa-1762-4a78-b9aa-a685a51e9b8a&wid=7a64fd41-8855-4440-8924-a1de30139841&ds=2) for all the fun today and for all the help with solving this puzzle. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in fairly decent shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. However, there was some moisture on the outside of the cache container and that has caused a bit of rust to form. However, the container must be working as the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

It would seem that I have caught the **SideTracked** cache bug recently, after finding a few of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=0d3ccce7-370d-4f2b-ae5b-966d366bb5c8&ds=2) other **SideTracked** caches, as I have been keen to find more and more of them lately. So with the weather being absolutely stunning today, I decided to go for a bit of a longer drive, enjoy the weather, and find this **SideTracked** cache. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way over to GZ. It was a roll down the windows and crank the tunes kind of day. In fact I was rocking out so much I almost blew right past GZ. In fact once I arrived near GZ, I wasn't sure where the best place to park the geomobile would be. So I ended up passing GZ and headed down a side road for a bit, before I found a spot I was comfortable to park at.Then I wasn't sure what the best way to get to GZ was. Of course, once I arrived at GZ I found the path I should have taken, but I ended up take a less than ideal path through the bush, before I could follow the tracks down the path. However, my struggles didn't stop there because once I arrive near the old railway station building my phone also didn't want to cooperate and had homed in on some beacons, much further away. Well after exhausting all those locations I decided to actually just put down the phone and allow my geosense to kick in. Well this ended up doing the trick because shortly after I was starring face to face with the cache.A big thanks goes [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=0d3ccce7-370d-4f2b-ae5b-966d366bb5c8&ds=2) for another fun **Sidetracked** cache. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I have had my eye on this challenge for quite some time now. I think it was even probably my pestering that made the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1) [replace it](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1CDJZFC) not to long ago. So I have had plans to get out here and find this one for ages now. However, something has always come up, which of course now that it has been almost four months, I feel horrible for pestering the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1).Well today I needed to find a mystery cache in order to fill in a missing calendar date for another one of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge caches, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N) and what better way to work on qualifying for a challenge cache then by finding a different challenge cache! With finding this cache being long over due, I decided to finally make it the target for the day. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and headed on over to GZ. I found a spot to park nearby the trailhead, which was surprisingly busy before I continued on over on foot. I however, did make the rookie mistake of the marking the original coordinates as corrected coordinates to show that I had finally qualified for the challenge, but unfortunately I never updated the coordinates upon the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1) [replacing it](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1CDJZFC).Which meant when I got to *"GZ"*, I was looking about 14 meters in the wrong direction. So after I had a fairly good look, I had to once again pester the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1) for an extra hint. Of course, after I was messaged him, I noticed my error. Well armed with the extra hint and the correct coordinates, I was able to head over to the actual GZ, where the cache was quickly spotted upon arrival.**Challenge Complete!**Well I absolutely love challenge caches and try to give them favourite points, when I can. Unfortunately, I am still on a massive backlog of owed favourite points, but when I earn another one I will be sure to come back and give this cache a well deserved favourite point. So a huge thanks goes to [ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=3b6859b7-0a94-4f1f-ad22-d5f81bef2f15&ds=2) for the fun challenge! The logbook was also clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

The limited opening hours for the garden has always made this one a bit tough to try and find, as this one is a bit of a drive from work. However, I got off work early last week and was able to work my way through majority of the stages. So with getting off work a bit early again today, I decided I would come down and finally finish this one off. With doing, majority of the leg work on my last trip I was able to head straight to **"Bunjil"** this time. I will be honest I made this one harder than it should have been, as I actually really struggled to find the required information at **"Bunjil"**. However perseverance, eventually paid off and I was able to gather the last required information I needed to calculate the coordinates for GZ. Then it was a nice short walk to GZ, and a shorter search before the cache was found and the logbook signed.A big thanks goes to [Team Crackers](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3e759bb5-6c22-465a-adbd-913815d537ab&wid=dcb73243-be5b-46d4-8959-0acac330e1db&ds=2) for the fun today. I had an appointment in the area yesterday and after I finished up, it was just too nice of weather to go home straight away. So I figured I'd try and grab a cache or two hidden by one of my all time favourite COs, [Kristysadventures](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2).The snuggle muggle and I were overseas in the USA during the Cachemas season and so I missed out on all of the Cachemas festivities. So I definitely have a bit of catching up to do, and so I couldn't miss the opportunity to attempt to find this one. I had a lot of fun playing eye spy at the various waypoints and was fairly easily able to gather the correct information and work my way from waypoint to waypoint. I did have a little bit of trouble with the most western waypoint, however after a few double checking of numbers eventually the checker allowed me to move on. The cache page was definitely correct on the time that this cache took. I think I had finally calculated GZ at around the 90 minute mark, so the *"1 to 2 hours walking time and to play the elves eye spy "* estimate was spot on. Of course, I didn't actually bother to read this time estimate before attempting this cache and by the time I arrived at GZ the sun had completely set.*Well who doesn't love a bit of night caching!*Although I do inded love a bit of night time adventures, I wasn't prepared with a proper torch and so I attempted to find this one with only the torch on my phone. However, after a lot of searching, no cache was found. I then decided to resort to the hint. *Ok... let me check there...* Well still no cache. I even reached out to the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2), who was kind enough to even give me an extra hint.Of course just as I got the extra hint, I stood up and was almost face to face with a muggle who had seen my phone torch waving around like crazy. So not only did I almost give them a heart attack, I about gave myself one! Well at that point my social anxiety kicked in and I knew I wasn't going to be able to explain what I was doing and so I just awkwardly left. Well the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2) today went above and beyond and checked on this cache for me and confirmed it was still there. So after work I came back, this time I was able to head straight to GZ, and just like the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2) had mentioned the cache was still there and I was able to locate it after a nice quick search. *Just goes to show me, that I should always have a proper torch in the geomobile, never know when a night caching opportunity might arise.*Anyways I had an absolute blast working through this one, **[Kristysadventures](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2)** you always find some of the most interesting art and find such great ways to highlight them. So a huge thanks for such a fun caching experience. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

First off I just wanted to say **congratulations on hiding your first geocache!** Hiding a new geocaching can be a bit of a process no matter how many of them you have hidden before, let alone hiding one for the first time. So congratulations on taking a big step and keeping the game going!I had an appointment in the area today and after I finished up, it was just too nice of weather to go home straight away. So I figured I'd try and grab a cache or two. I always love finding a geocache, because they always seem to take me to places I never knew existed. I can't tell you how many amazing little parks I have been able to explore due to geocaching and this one was another absolutely lovely one. I think you absolutely nailed your first hide. I think we see a lot of first time cache hiders, hide caches that are either not suitable containers, or are hidden in locations where they will be too exposed to the elements. However, you picked a good container and I think this cache was in hidden in a great way to keep it protected. Not only that, but the fun extra twist to access the logbook and the appropriate use of the *"field puzzle"* attribute made this one just so much fun. I loved finding this one today and I loved the extra fun little challenge to access the logbook, that really set this one a part from you typical simple park and grab. So a big thanks goes to [Toby_321](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=21c0c777-c444-4b56-a60b-d6b4a2722fe1&wid=a3693e33-ed88-4855-80b2-4ce69b99283c&ds=2) for a super fun cache. Keep up the great work! TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in great shape. The puzzle element to this cache also work very smoothly and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I had an appointment in the area today and after I finished up, it was just too nice of weather to go home straight away. So I figured I'd try and grab a cache or two hidden by one of my all time favourite COs, [Kristysadventures](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2).Well I needed to find a mystery cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N) and so this one quickly became one of the targets for the day. My original plan was to try and find this cache when I attended the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2) event, [366 and no longer counting! (GCAGM6Q)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCAGM6Q), however due unforeseeable circumstances the event never went ahead.Well that was almost a year ago, but I still remember having alot of fun solving this puzzle. Not to easy and not to hard. I remember being able to solve most of the crossword on my own, but I did have to do a bit of googling to finish it off.Well today was finally the day that I got out and found this one. So after my appointment I headed over to the [recommended parking coordinates](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=28704dc6-acde-4b17-8199-b27705a529e2&RefID=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&RefDS=1) before continuing on over to GZ by foot. With the weather today being absolutely perfect, it was amazing to get out in a bit of fresh air and I loved the walk through the park to GZ.Once I was near GZ my phone homed in on a logical beacon and after a short search the cache was in hand and the logbook signed. So a big thanks goes to [Kristysadventures](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2025b6ac-6591-4990-a921-bd242af298ea&wid=4b8a26d7-5316-4e4e-9bba-f64ea2b4f23a&ds=2) for all the fun today. I saw the alert come in last night that this cache got published, but unlike [999Hunter](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=c1e96dd4-3250-45c7-b61a-2e10674b518a) my plan was to finish eating dinner before heading out to attempt the FTF. *Well that cost me, as the FTF was quickly gone. Oh well...*So with the FTF gone, I figured I would just save this one for a day in which I needed to find a mystery cache. Well it just so happened to turn out that I needed to find a mystery cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for another one of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=2ea93f43-d6fb-4f7e-938a-bacef589ab2c&ds=2) challenge caches, [WCW - Almost a Complete Mystery Challenge (GC9Z59N)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59N).Well what better way to work on qualifying for a challenge cache then by finding a different challenge cache! So after work I hopped in the geomobile and headed on over to GZ. I found a spot to park just inside the reservoir fencing, before I continued on foot. I was initially confused on how to access the trailhead, however eventually I figure it out and got on the right path. The weather was absolutely beautiful today and it made for a nice little walk today. Once I arrived at GZ it was a nice quick search before the cache was found and the logbook signed. **Challenge Complete!**Well I absolutely love challenge caches and try to give them favourite points, when I can. Unfortunately, I am currently on a massive backlog of owed favourite points, but when I earn another one I will be sure to come back and give this cache a well deserved favourite point. So a huge thanks goes to [ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=3b6859b7-0a94-4f1f-ad22-d5f81bef2f15&ds=2) for the fun challenge! I had originally attempted this multi cache the other week, however I ended up getting confused at Waypoint 3 and ran out of time. It wasn't until my drive home in which I was thinking about what I could have missed when it finally clicked. So when I arrived home I checked my coordinates and the checker gave me the **Woo-hoo!**. *I thought, oh how could I miss that!*Well with needing to find a multi cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=6a725450-9b6f-4892-abca-126a7026759c&ds=2) challenge cache, [WCW - 95% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z59M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59M). I was back with vengeance. This time it was a much quicker trip. I was immediately able to head straight to GZ. Once I arrived it was a nice quick search before the cache was spotted. I am not the most vertically gifted individual, so I did have to scoot up the tree a bit in order to reach the cache, but without too much effort I soon had the logbook in hand.I don't really always love a cemetery cache. However, when done tastefully like this cache then I think they can be great. I enjoy that this one took me to some interesting locations and highlighted a few places, but I didn't feel like I had to invade anyone's resting space. The cache was also hidden far enough away for me to feel comfortable with attempting to find it without feeling like I would interupt a mourner. So a big thanks goes to [xrocketx](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=13ee8ee6-4f6a-4c75-96e2-ec5bcf549db3&wid=1d797686-5d72-498f-85c3-6849ffa90029&ds=2) for the very fun multi. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**All of the information at the various waypoints was very legible. The cache container at GZ was in good shape and the attachment mechanism still seemed strong. However, it did have a bit of moisture inside the cache container. I tried to dry it out the best I could. Once I dried out the logbook, I could easily sign the logbook and the logbook had plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

**Happy International EarthCache Day Weekend!**I knew at some point in time this weekend, that I had to try and find an Earthcache, to not only celebrate International EarthCache Day weekend, but to also earn the [latest souvenir](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2024/09/celebrate-international-earthcache-day-2024).Well the snuggle muggle and I had plans to take her mother out for lunch in the city for her mother's birthday. So since we were already in the city, I managed to convince the snuggle muggle to head up to Melbourne University with me to come and attempt this Earthcache after we finished up with lunch. So after a delicious meal we grabbed one of the several trams heading north out of the city and made our way over to GZ. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when we arrived. I figured being so close to the city meant that the *"rock garden"* would be a bit small, but I was expecting the Earth Science building to have something a little larger than what we arrived too.None the less we both found the geological age timeline to be quite interested and it was neat to see that all the ages could be represented with rocks found across the state. So after snapping a few pictures of the area and a bit of back and forth with the [CO](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=e8b1c184-9fcf-47d0-a4e8-a4ed8fb44997&wid=69048362-154a-487f-9c1a-63968cea4bde&ds=2) we were finally able to earn our diploma in geology and graduate from the **School of Rock.**So a big thanks goes to [Rhinogeo](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=e8b1c184-9fcf-47d0-a4e8-a4ed8fb44997&wid=69048362-154a-487f-9c1a-63968cea4bde&ds=2) for the fun and interesting geology lesson as well as the patience with sharing answers back and forth. **DNF Avenged!**It has been three years to the day since I logged my original [DNG log](https://www.geocaching.com/live/geocache/GC28BF6/log/GL15XBAZQ/edit?logType=3). With this cache being somewhat close to home and near a lovely reserve, I have attempted this one on and off over the past three years, but I always ended up walking away with a blue frowny face. I was losing my confidence that this cache was here, but when I saw a string of found it logs all on the same day, I knew that today was my chance to finally be able to avenge this DNF and convert that frowny face into a smilie. So after work I parked the geomobile in the all to familiar parking spot, before continuing on over to GZ by foot. I then started checking all of the usual spots, and then tried to remember locations I hadn't checked before. I honestly think I had check almost every square centimetre of that bridge looking for this one over the past three years, except for where the cache was actually hiding. After a good lengthy search I was about to have to walk away again, but this time I decided that it was time to reach out for a **PAF** and get an extra hint. Well they were able to point me in the right direction, which allowed to make a more targeted search and finally make the find!**Woo hoo!**Three years later and I finally get to remove the horrible little blue frowny face from my map. A big thanks goes to [n0w0rries](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=5b32a917-ec75-4f0f-8609-dc880f31d698&wid=f0cc5aca-622b-46e4-a1b5-7722f416cf59&ds=2) for keeping this one alive and allowing me to finally avenge my DNF! After finding another one of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=0d3ccce7-370d-4f2b-ae5b-966d366bb5c8&ds=2) **SideTracked** caches, [SideTracked - Cranbourne (GC9VQ48)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9VQ48_sidetracked-cranbourne), the other day, I noticed how many more **SideTracked** caches I still hadn't found that were down this direction. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and made my way to GZ. With this cache also being an **"Other"** size cache, it was the perfect target for the day as I have been trying to find more **"Other"** size caches in order to work on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD).When I arrived at the train station, the station was beyond busy. There were cars parked everywhere with several of them even parked on the side of the road in the nature strips. Luckily a muggle was just leaving right as I arrived and so I was able to find a spot to park the geomobile before I continued on over to GZ by foot.I am not sure if the previous [DNF log](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL1CW84BQ) got in my head or what, but I made this one a lot harder than it should have been. My phone led me to the exact beacon I needed to search for, I even had a strong guess on what the cache container was going to be. However, after not seeing the cache container upon my initial scan, in actuality I probably only spent like 1.5 seconds looking for it lol, I decided to then look in all the wrong locations. It wasn't until I actually took a break from searching that I just ended up staring directly at the cache. *Wow how did I miss that!* Gosh sometimes geocaching can be quite humbling.A big thanks goes [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=0d3ccce7-370d-4f2b-ae5b-966d366bb5c8&ds=2) for the fun humbling hide and reminding that although I have probably found almost 100 of this type of hide that I can't underestimate them. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

After a stressful day at work, all I wanted to do was get outside and enjoy some of the beautiful sunny warm weather. Well what better way to enjoy the beautiful weather then to get out and grab a cache or two. I have recently turned my attention and started working on qualifying for one of [DARKSIDEDAN's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=2a2a54fb-66e6-4b02-ad79-fae27aa04984&wid=d76ce52b-99f9-47c6-b3ec-151b8ca2715d&ds=2) challenge caches, [CHALLENGE - The Odd-sized Cacher - Gold (GC93XJD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC93XJD). So when I saw that this cache was an **"Other"** size cache I knew I had to make it one of today's targets. So after work I hopped in the geomobile and make my way to the [recommended parking coordinates](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/wpt.aspx?WID=ea7eeb77-e7d0-4d5e-ba4c-1852de6953b7&RefID=e1127cb4-1f43-44cc-9967-f7e449b26a75&RefDS=1). Luckily, the area was completely empty and so I was able to easily find a spot to park the geomobile. I have found a few caches hidden in this sort of way, so when I arrived I spotted what I believed was the cache straight away. *ha I even spotted this one from the geomobile!* It was then a quick check and I confirmed my suspicions and had the cache quickly in hand. I remember the first time I spotted one like this, I was blown away that a cache could even look like this. Just blends in so well. So a big thanks goes to [Coco_Lily](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=e1dd1034-5608-4845-8127-0a0ab6f620f1&wid=e1127cb4-1f43-44cc-9967-f7e449b26a75&ds=2) for the fun today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status:**The cache container was in good shape and blended in very nicely. The logbook was clean and dry.
