Found on a school holiday outing with the kids. We had a great time exploring the area, and finding this cache was a bonus. Tftc

After an overnight trip to Rotorua with treasure hunting Tim and our 2 girls, we were on our way back to Hawkes Bay and decided to stop for a caching attempt here. Cache was quickly found by Tim. We think this whole roundabout area has been really well planned and executed, quite different to the usual functional but boring roundabout. Tftc
2nd find on our walk around the lake. Ewww, glad hubby found this one! Lovely view across the lake, even on an overcast day. Tftc
Our 4th stop around the lake, a quick find by me here. The kids did some quick trading while treasure hunting Tim signed the log. Quickly on our way again, hoping to get back to the car without getting too wet. Tftc
Our 5th stop around the lake. We searched for about 5mins, but the rain was getting heavier and child #2 was pretty over it, so we bailed and made for the carpark. Maybe another time
Our 3rd stop around the lake, but no luck here. The weather was starting to close in, so given the previous dnfs we didn't hang around too long. Saw a spot that would be perfect for a hide but nothing there.
We often stop here for a picnic when travelling to/from Hawke's Bay. After an overnight stay in Rotorua, we decided to try our luck with finding some caches on our way home, and saw this recent addition on the map! Treasure hunting Tim and I both had a decent search here, but no luck. Will try again next time we're passing through.
After an overnight visit to Rotorua with treasure hunting Tim and our 2 girls, we were returning to Hawkes Bay anddecided to put on our jackets and go for a stroll around the lake. A bonus to discover that 5 caches are hidden here! This was our first find, all in good order here. The decking was very slippery in the rain! Tftc
Caching with treasure hunting Tim and our 2 girls, on our way back Hawke's Bay. A quick find by Tim here, tftc
Always appreciate a quick park and grab, thank you! Tftc

First stop today, visiting from Hawke's Bay. Found in the rain, lovely views even in the wet. Tftc

Went for a Sunday walk with treasure hunting Tim and our girls (9yrs and 11yrs). We sat at the nearby lookout to eat our egg & lettuce sandwiches for lunch. Was surprised at just how many people were also on the track today, a popular outing! Found the cache in good order, fantastic camouflage. Tftc

Haven't been caching in a while, but we decided on a whim to find a cache while on our first ever visit to Cooks Beach today. Visiting from Hawkes Bay, staying in Whitianga. Great beach, loved our day here, tftc
20-May-18
Well. As a reward for finishing an essay I decided to take hubby and the kids to our fave Indian restaurant for dinner. We arrived 15mins before opening time, so decided to try finding a geocache to fill in the time. Quick find here, great camouflage for hiding the cache in plain sight. Tftc

The one and only cache that we looked for during a quick trip down to Oamaru. After getting off the ferry we grabbed lunch supplies from the supermarket and had a picnic at Cob Cottage. This cache was nearby and a quick find. A great spot for a cache, loads of safe parking, child friendly, and an easy to find cache that is hidden from the general public. Thank you for placing this cache

I grew up in Maheno, and returned today to show my kids around the area. I learnt to drive at this rugby domain, back in the mid 90's. I also spent many Saturdays down here with all the local kids, buying chips and bottles of fizz and playing under the grandstand to fill in the time while the adults watched games of rugby. Many thanks for bringing me back here, a favourite point just for the memories
Visiting from hawkes bay and staying with my parents just around the corner. Headed out after dinner for an evening walk with miss 10, and made a quick find here. Tftc
05-Nov-17
Spent 3 days in Wellington with a friend, and l grabbed this cache on my way back to Hawke's Bay. Tftc
Stayed at the top 10 for two nights and grabbed this cache with my muggle friend after checking out. Tftc

Found with miss 7 while miss 9 is at her Tuesday afternoon art lesson. I've never been down this road before, so thanks for taking me somewhere new. Tftc

Found with miss 7 while miss 9 is at art lessons. A cute train set up that all local kids love. Off to the playground to fill in some more time. Tftc

Cache find #9 this morning. Our second railway cache so we were confident that we knew what we were looking for. The race was on and miss 9yrs won. Tftc

Cache #3 on our drive from Blenheim to the Picton ferry terminal this morning. Miss 9 found this one. We have never seen so many trackables in one cache before! Chose 3 to move on to the North Island with us. Tftc
Stayed in Blenheim last night, and after 3 weeks of traveling we are heading to the ferry and home to Hawke's Bay. This was #1 of our finds today. An easy find thanks to the clue. Tftc
Cache #4 on our drive from Blenheim to the Picton ferry terminal this morning. Took nothing, left nothing. We noticed a lack of rubbish in the area, presumably due to a diligent council? Tftc
Find #14 this morning, and our 4th railway cache. This one had me stumped for a minute. But then I caught just a glimpse of something familiar and yes, there it was. Tftc
Find #12 on our travels to the Picton ferry terminal this morning. A quick find here, and back on the road. Tftc
Cache #8 on our Blenheim to Picton journey this morning. This was our first railway cache, and I initially overlooked an important item, then wandered around for a bit before returning to investigate further. Excellent idea. Tftc
Find #13 on our journey this morning. When we pulled up here, I was expecting to have to do a bit of traffic timing in order to retrieve and replace the cache. However luck was on my side and I hardly had to do the geocaching lurk at all. Tftc
Cache #6 on our drive from Blenheim to Picton. We nearly drove past the parking spot for this one. Hubby made the find. Tftc
Our 15th and final cache find on our way to the Picton ferry terminal this morning. We have travelled this route many times, but never had any/much spare time for the caches between Picton and Blenheim. It was great to tick a few off today. Tftc
Cache #7 on our Blenheim to Picton journey this morning. I made the find while hubby sorted food for the starving kids. The cows in the paddock had a fair bit to say about me being so near to their territory! Tftc
Cache #5 on our drive from Blenheim to the Picton ferry terminal this morning. I took a deep breath and tried really hard to reach the cache, but I just can't put my hand in places like that! Hubby to the rescue for a quick find. Tftc
Cache #2 on our drive from Blenheim to Picton ferry terminal this morning. As I approached GZ, a mouse ran in front of me and under the fence. Cache signed and on our way again. Tftc
Find #10 this morning. There was a badly smelling tree nearby, logging finds nearly a week later and i can still remember the smell! Tftc
Find #11 this morning. Found by miss 7yrs, and safely returned by her too. No planes to be seen while we were here. Tftc
16-Apr-17
Been staying in Oamaru and haven't had time for geocaching, so we went out for a quick afternoon drive and grabbed this as our one token find this trip. Heading back to the North Island tomorrow. Tftc
12-Apr-17
Hubby spotted the likely cache location as we pulled up at GZ. A good sized cache with not much in it, and unfortunately we don't have much with us to add. A serene wee rural spot. Tftc
Our third find along this road. Spotted the likely location upon arrival. We had intended to carry on and find all of the caches along this road, but with the rain getting quite heavy we decided to abandon and carry on towards Dunedin. Tftc
Our first find of the day. Heading to Dunedin. Love the view of the bridge from here, and the autumn colours are just gorgeous. Tftc
Took us a moment to find this one. After a brief and unsuccessful search, we stood back and reconsidered our approach. Straight to it second time around. A quiet wee spot, lovely in the rain. Tftc
Hahaha, turned the corner and hubby and I both groaned at the sight before us and then laughed. We weren't expecting that at all! Everything made sense and the cache was soon in hand. Log signed in the car, out of the rain, and then returned to its hidey hole. Tftc. And a fave point for the laugh.
Stopped here today but didn't get far. The cottage is currently closed while undergoing repairs.
Oooo gosh. Between the sheep truck run off and the litter, we really had to fight the urge to boost it out of here. Ick. Cache quickly found, signed, and turned.
Would have been an easy find and replace if not for all the muggles! Kids loved the bridge. Hubby stood in dog poo, gross. A chilly morning for sure. Tftc
Arrived here at lunchtime. Perfect timing! Pies all round and a cache to top it off. A busy wee place, and after spotting the cache it took quite some time to be able to retrieve it. Yummy pies. Tftc
Ha. I went straight to this one without taking the time to think about my route. Soon found myself with soaking wet shoes. Bother. Never mind, it was worth it for the smiley gained. Tftc
Spotted the likely location upon arrival. A lady from the nearby house approached us to ask what we were up to. Friendly lady, intrigued by the geocaching concept. Log signed and cache returned. Tftc

Found today with treasure hunting Tim. Awesome cache. Always nice to come across something a bit different. Tftc
Driving from Wanaka to Alexandra today, and this cache made it onto our geocaching list due to the high favourite points. Miss 9 loved it. Very original, well done Tftc
