Logs for UncleTom3
17-Jul-24
My great great grandfather was a Congregational minister who at various times was stationed in five different states. He led an adventurous life including such escapades as paddling his canoe down the Murray River from Albury to the mouth at Goolwa. He wasn't ever stationed in this area, but gave lecture tours about his exploits, which included Kyneton on at least one occasion and he was therefore most likely in this very building. Quick easy find, left a 1919 halfpenny. TFTC
Dropped in here to pick up any travellers who might like to hitch a ride to Tassie this weekend. There was only one so my travelling companion took it. I like the hotel construction. Left a 1955 halfpenny for a future visitor. TFTC.
Doing a bit of a historical drive through the area. Found this one quickly and easily. Left a 1951 halfpenny. TFTC.
We certainly didn't have a view today, eagle's or otherwise. It was completely fogged in and drizzling. Nice walk nonetheless and we could imagine the spectacular view that might be there in better conditions. Left a 1946 halfpenny. TFTC.
We took a pleasant walk down the street on a mizzly winters day. Did the calculations and found GZ where repairs made it a little difficult to access, but found it after a few minutes. Left 1922 halfpenny. TFTC.
We're staying in the Kyneton area for a week's holiday with our only grandchild, a girl, so this ine seemed appropriate. Quick easy find. Left 1949 halfpenny. TFTC.
Made use of a break between showers to make the walk through the trees. Found the graves and the clever hide. Left a 1949 halfpenny. TFTC.
Not the ideal day for caching in the clouds. My kind of multi. Quick concise questions and answers and the GZ not too far from away. As noted by others the log is very wet. I had ziploc bags with me. But no point enclosing the moisture. Left a 1943 halfpenny. TFTC.
Well, we certainly approached this from the wrong direction. We followed the map to what appeared to be the closest parking spot and found that we had a steep scramble to get to GZ. Having found it, I did what any sensible old bloke would do, and walked out the easy way, sending the caching buddy back down the way we came to bring the vehicle around and pick me up. Left a 1951 halfpenny. TFTC.
Quick easy find despite abundance of muggles. I 'posted' a log and left a 1949 halfpenny. TFTC.
13-Jul-24
We took our granddaughter to the fairy park today, which she enjoyed greatly. Grabbed this cache as we left, to mark the occasion. TNL 1960 halfpenny. TFTC.
09-Jun-24
Fairly quick and easy find this evening. Will claim First To Find as there were no other entries in the logbook. TFTC Ben and Boaz.
30-Mar-24
In Ballarat for the weekend for a family wedding. Staying in a B&B near here, so made the quick, easy find. TFTC.

29-Dec-22
The church is now private property and plans are in place for development. The time is up for this cache.
03-Oct-22
Visited here today as my great great grandfather was minster of the independent chapel along the road from 1890 to 1902. Whilst there, one of his sons was accidentally drowned in a local dam, and is buried here. Thought I should log this cache to mark my visit. Quick easy find. TNLNSL TFTC.

Staying in the caravan park here for a couple of nights, on our way back home to Tassie from a quick trip to the west. One lap around was enough. TNLNSL. TFTC.
15-Jun-22
I've been thinking for years while driving up and down the highway that this would be a good spot for a cache. My usual procrastination meant that I did nothing about that thought, so I'm pleased that you have acted. TNLNSL. TFTC.
03-Jun-22
Have been carrying around two travel bugs for the past couple if weeks, having brought them back from Victoria. Time for them to be moved on elsewhere so dropped them into the departure lounge. TFTC.

13-May-22
We are visiting the area on holiday from Tasmania, and returning on the ship tomorrow so we stopped by to pick up any travellers lodging at the hotel who might like a ride to Tassie. Several accepted our offer and will be delivered to various locations in the island state next week. Quick easy find. Left a 1943 halfpenny. Thanks for providing such well organised accommodation for travellers.
11-May-22
Dropped in here for a BBQ lunch and for the granddaughter to play on the playground. Quick easy find. TNLN. TFTC.
Not so much a DNF as a could not log, as GZ appears to be a favourite spot for surfers to congregate and use as a changeroom, bike parking station and general debrief area after returning from the waves. We hung around for a while but couldn't get an opportunity to grab the cache without being seen. Will have to try again one day when the surf's not up.
11-Apr-22
Came home this way to avoid the roadworks at Sidmouth. Quick easy find although the container is well attached and I thought it wasn't going to budge. TNLN. TFTC

11-Mar-21
Quick easy find but when opening the container, it's a toss-up whether it was me or the resident huntsman that got the bigger surprise. We both survived the experience and went our separate ways. TNLNSL. TFTC.
28-Dec-20
Camping just a few kms from here so tried for FTF. No other logs in the book so will claim it as another FTF. Had to resort to using the hint as the co-ords are about 17m off by my gpsr. TNLN. TFTC.
04-Sep-20
Drive past here regularly to visit relatives. Had a spare minute today and that's all it took to find it. Most difficult part was extracting the log from the container. I usually carry tweezers for this purpose but didn't have my full caching kit with me today. TNLNSL. TFTC.
14-Jun-20
I had looked here briefly before but didn't spend long as the farmer was rounding up his sheep over the fence. This time I had the cache in hand in about 20 seconds. Log is full but managed to squeeze my name in. TNLN. TFTC.
16-Mar-20
Quick find today when there wasn't a schoolyard full of muggles watching. TNLN. TFTC.
02-Mar-20
I was just simply driving by, and found a simple drive by. It's a small container but I managed to leave a 1948 halfpenny for the next finder. TFTC.
08-Feb-20
I called in today and replaced the ziplock bag and left a pen and a few swaps, including a 1916 halfpenny for the next finder.
22-Dec-19
Driving past GZ today I suddenly recalled solving the puzzle when it was first published and making a mental note of the location. A quick look in the most obvious spot had the tube in hand. TNLN. TFTC.
Gpsr was showing +/- 70m which hindered the search for a while. When it settled down, and the search area reduced from several acres, the cache was soon in hand. Back in the 1960's I rode my bicycle about 2km down this road each weekday and parked it very close to gz so I could catch the school bus to Nubeena. The uphill ride back up the road in the afternoon wasn't always eagerly anticipated. TNLN. TFTC.
13-Dec-19
Took me a few minutes. Found the hide quickly but dismissed it as too obvious and kept looking for more sophisticated camo. Came back to double check the first spot and located the tube. TNLN. TFTC.
I was the owner of the previous cache about 20 metres away which was destroyed by the roadworks. At the time it had just become the 10th most favourited cache in Tassie.

28-Nov-19
Called in here today to visit my great grandparents who have resided here for some time now. Didn't bother solving the puzzle, just used the caching sixth sense (where would I hide a cache here?). TNLN. TFTC.
27-Nov-19
This was the only one in the town that I didn't yet have so took a short break from my travel to grab it. TNLN. TFTC.
09-Oct-19
This one had me puzzled for a few minutes, mainly because I didn't trust my gpsr and thought I knew better. I was wrong, it was right, and the cache was soon in hand. TNLN. TFTC.
22-Sep-19
Empty logbook at 3.30pm so I will claim FTF. I previously had a cache near here called Horton College (a magnificent building in the 1800's with only the entry arch still remaining), but had to archive it when the roadworks destroyed the hiding place. Just a week ago I drove up onto this old piece of highway and decided it would be a good place for a replacement hide. I was too slow once again. TNLN. TFTC.
11-Sep-19
Heading north today and needed to pull over somewhere to have a sandwich so chose here so that I could grab the cache. TNL 1964 halfpenny. TFTC.
09-Sep-19
Travelling south today so decided to grab the new cache. I only got around to getting the nearby one a few weeks ago. Quick and easy find. TLN 1926 halfpenny (didn't have a 1936 with me). TFTC.
Heading to peninsula to visit relatives and stopped beside the canal to have a bite of lunch. Quick and easy find once I waited for a gap in the muggle traffic. TNL 1949 halfpenny. TFTC.
14-Aug-19
Nice choice of hiding place Jakob. Logbook is a little damp but I was still able to sign. TNLN. TFTC.
