Thanks for everyone who attended this event who also decided to 'find' the earthcache here.
Unfortunately if you don't send through the answers to the earthcache I will delete your log.

After almost a year since I last looked for this I was back in town.
I expanded the search area away from where GZ had me and soon had the cache in hand this time around.
10m out for me today.

After a fair while away in PNG for work I was finally back in QLD.
I had to head into the Fairview gas fields today so this cache was sort of on my way.
A quick find and sign and I was on my way again.

TFTC and *FTF* for me.

I'm finally back working in QLD after a fair while spent in PNG.
This was a nice quick find while on my way up to the Fairview gas fields from Roma.

A quick find while driving past town heading to Windibri.

With the water level very low at the moment it's a perfect time to find this one.
The original log is a wet pulpy mess at the bottom of the container but someone has added a replacement so it's still sign able.

Time to go.

04-Aug-14
A quick find on the way out of town heading north.

TFTC

A caravan setting up right next to this cache had me pass this one up.
I did take a short drive down to the beach though and admired the Indian Ocean.

A quick stroll through the spinifex soon had me signing my name in the logbook.
I'll admit I don't get excited about confluences but I was happy enough to have another cache find under my belt.

TFTC

When I approached GZ in the car there was already two less than nice looking cars present so I was a bit hesitant and then when I got closer I could see that some backpackers or someone had set up camp inside the bunker so I passed this one up and kept going.

DNF as there was a car parked right were I wanted to stop so I just kept going north.

I saw the number of caravans parked here and didn't even pull off the highway.
Waaaay too many muggles around for me here.

Found while wasting some time around town prior to driving to Sandfire Roadhouse.

TFTC

A bit of driving on roads I probably shouldn't have and then a quick hop over the train tracks had me signing the logbook of this cache soon enough.

TFTC

A DNF from me today.
I assumed the cache would be underneath and while I found lots of broken glass I found no cache.

After driving into town heading the other way yesterday it was time to drive back out of town today and this cache happened to be on the 'right' side of the road for me to find.

TFTC

More a didn't attempt than a didn't find as there was no way I was going to walk into a playground while kids were playing on it while I was on my own.

I sat, I contemplated and then I added my name to the log.

TFTC

A quick find and sign while I was heading north.

TFTC

I had a few hours to spend in town today prior to leaving to drive further north so I spent that time wisely finding a few caches.
This one had me out of the car and on shanks pony for the walk in over the sand.

TFTC

A quick find while I had a few hours to spare around town.

This is what caching is all about to me.
A piece of history, in an out of the way spot, that I had no idea existed.

TFTC and a favourite point from me.

A quick find while on my way to Pt Hedland from Newman via Marble Bar.
The roadworks close by weren't an issue thankfully.

A quick find while on my way to Pt Hedland from Newman via Marble Bar.
This place has gone down in my 'Little Black Book of Camping Spots' for future reference if I'm ever up here again.

TFTC

An awesome cache.
I was traveling up to Pt Hedland, and had all day to do so, so came by here to grab the FTF first.
A well waymarked route in had me on the right road and sooner than I had thought I was standing at a fair sized body of water in a nice little gorge.
I didn't have the place to myself as their were a couple of campers but given the cache placement they weren't a problem as they had camped up close to the water.

This place reminds me of the Flinders Ranges at home so much that it made me want to get out camping when I get home back to SA.

A definite favourite from me.

Roadworks right next to here had me looking under the feet of some of the workers.
There is now no obvious machinery (apart from new roadwork machines) here so I believe this may have gone.

I stopped and found this cache sitting in the open after a fire had gone through the area.
Due to it being a metal tin the log book partially survived, and I then place the container under a nearby clump of spinifex.
Best to do some maintenance on this one.

TFTC

A quick turn off from the road, which is currently being upgraded, and this cache was soon in hand.

TFTC

What a great view.
This was a good place to stretch out my legs after spending the day driving up from Newman.

After having been in town for a few days it would have been nice to cross this cache off of my lost but as someone else has said, its gone.
Time to be archived.

Another visit up here after work and I had another find to my name.
Saw lots of yellow footed rock wallabies in the vicinity of this cache but they were too quick for me to photograph.

Please note the large rock right above this cache is loose as I grabbed a hold of it and it scared the bejesus out of me as I though it was going to dislodge and take me with it on the way down the hill.

A quick find after work.
I am slowly wrapping up all the local caches finds.
Nice view just on sunset but given the mosquito warning I didn't want to spend too much time here.

Container lid is beyond repair.
Needs a new container.

An easy find after work for me.
I contemplated taking the car up to the top but stopped at the bottom and walked.
Nice view over the close-by mine site.

Container is broken and needs replacing.

Answers sent and permission to log received.
I like earthcaches and will always make an effort to find one wherever they may be, so as I am in Newman for a few days for work this cache was always going to get a visit from me.
Interesting info here and I learnt a bit about iron ore that I never knew, and grabbed some samples to take back home to my kids.

TFTC

I managed to drive to within 280m of this one, so no long walk for me.
I achieved this by coming in on a track from behind the cemetery.
It wasn't that rough and would be achievable in a 2wd car with care.

TFTC

I am working for a few days in a yard at the bottom of Radio Hill Drive so today I just knocked off a bit early and headed up the hill to find this cache with a view.

TFTC

After knocking off work a bit early I made the drive out to find this cache.
The hire car made it up with ease and I then had some fun in a few mud puddles that were around on the track back out to the highway.

Nice view and a favourite point from me.

I'm in the area for a few days due to work so am finding some of the local caches.
I found this one just on last light and got a nice photo of the sign that makes it appear to be 'floating'.
