Logs for kitwalker73

05-Jan-23
Found it with AngryWookiee - great spot where nature meets the ‘burbs.

27-Mar-22
Have replaced log - please screw the container shut so the watertight seal works.

07-Mar-21
Beautiful Autumn day - fantastic view.

07-Nov-20
#69 - We visited again, determined to find it this time. Turns out we were looking in the wrong tree! It helps to have two people for this one.

15-Oct-20
This is a great track, with a lot of hard work by the local community to make it happen. Log was a little damp but OK.

19-Sep-20
Spent a good while looking for this one, but DNF. After spotting the Theodore one ... maybe we weren't looking high enough.

Found it ... but wasn't brave enough to log it.

06-Sep-20
Great views up on high - some big roos up there too!

Was a great day for a walk up the hill - fantastic views late in the afternoon.

Exactly where I expected it to be! Found an interesting rock arrangement on the hill on the way up too.

The container has no lid, and the zip lock bag was falling apart. Some of the log pages were on the ground. I put the log and loose pages into a new zip lock bag, but the cache needs maintenance.

Great little spot above the train line - excellent views.

The description is very accurate - took a bit to find it, but the search paid off.

Came back for another try after TE had replaced the cache - tricky hide, love it!

08-Jun-20
#57: Easy find, but not so easy recovering it without being seen. TFTC

#59: Quick find in a fairly quiet spot. TFTC

WAY too much traffic (granted, it was a perfect sunny afternoon on a long weekend). Couldn't have a good look - will have to come back when it's quieter.

#60: nice little hide. Watch out for the European Wasps - there must be a hive nearby.

#59: Easy find, TFTC. We were married on Aspen Island in the 90's, and it is always nice to return. Looks nothing like it used to - it now has a beach!

#61: So tiny! Easy to find, difficult to sign. TFTC

#58: It was a fantastic sunny day, and what a great place to stop to enjoy the view. Lot's of foot/bicycle traffic, so had to recover this one carefully.

We spent a bit of time looking for this one, but had no luck. Will come back another time when it's no so busy.

#56: I had no idea these stones existed. Thanks again to TE for identifying Canberra's not very obvious historical treasures and helping us to find them.

30-May-20
#54. Nice little hide - quick find on our way around the hill. So many horses in the paddock nearby!

Amazing Kurrajong tree, and a really cool place. The fog had just lifted when we found this one, showing some great views. Also spotted the alien!

#55. Last one for the day. Found it pretty much where you'd expect it to be. TFTC

The log is very damaged - there is another sheet of paper in the cache that isn't quite full yet.

#52. Took a morning walk through the hills behind Chapman - found some amazing rock structures. This one took a while to find, and I'm not sure it is in the intended place because it doesn't quite match the hint. TFTC

02-May-20
#50 We braved the cold conditions to walk around the Tuggeranong Pines and the train line - the sun came out and did not disappoint.

A quick find ... once we got our bearing! TFTC

#51 We braved the cold conditions to walk around the Tuggeranong Pines and the train line - the sun came out and did not disappoint.

What an amazing (and monstrous) plant! TFTC

As previously noted, cache container is broken - lid has a large hole in it. It is upside down to keep the water out.

We braved the cold conditions to walk around the Tuggeranong Pines and the train line - the sun came out and did not disappoint.

We had 4 of us crawling all over the tracks - over, under, inside, outside ... couldn't find it. Will return another day.

25-Apr-20
After an early Dawn Service in our backyard, we went for a walk around Mount Taylor. The day started out very foggy and cold, but when the sun came out it turned into an amazing morning. Found the cache without too much trouble, and left a small contribution. TFTC!

26-Jan-20
#49 Have been meaning to get this one for a while, but difficult when school’s on. Magpies aren’t swooping, but I did find myself standing in an ant’s nest! TFTC - good hide.

19-Jan-20
The ACT Gov’t has put up a sign to say that raptors are nesting at the moment, and to stay away from trees and stick to the path. Decided to leave this one for another day...

I was rushing and couldn’t make the numbers match the checksum, and family was disappearing in the distance, so I’ll have another go at this one at another time.

Today wasn’t too hot, too smoky or too rainy ... so perfect to explore the wetlands and pick up a couple of caches. It’s very dry at the moment, but still beautiful. Watch for snakes on the boardwalk. TFTC Tankengine

29-Dec-19
Great cache - was in the area and didn’t have to go far to find this one.

Had to hop over the gate to get to it - nice hide!

22-Oct-19
A bit of a scramble to get through the bushes, but well worth it. What a fantastic creative cache. Kind of reminds me of the Pale Man from Pan’s Labyrinth ...

20-Oct-19
Had a go but I don't think we got the compass correctly oriented. We'll be back!

Can't believe I found this one so quickly. Getting the log out was a challenge, but we managed it. TFTC TankEngine - this one was definitely our win for the day!

A great little hide - quickly found, and on to the next one. We had to dodge some muggles shooting a low budget video production down by the shores.

A very serene sunny morning, with lots of dog walkers out and the Scouts yachting on the lake. Perfect Canberra spring day!

Had a good look, but it was a bit busy today and we had to move on. Will come back.

13-Oct-19
A good sized cache - had a bit of fun getting to it. TFTC.

It took me a while to find it. Great hide! TFTC

A beautiful little spot - the white poplars were releasing their "fluff" and it looked like it was snowing. Great collection of swag too!

What an amazing piece of history. Just watched Peter Jackson's "They Shall Not Grow Old" over the weekend, which gave this a lot more context. TFTC.

A really interesting place, and great walk amongst the “snowing” poplars.
